DUKE -- Patricia Helen. Pat passed away peacefully at the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, around 12:30 a.m., December 4, 1997 after suffering an unexpected and acute cardiac episode on the evening of December 2. Born in Crandall, Manitoba on March 16, 1919, she was raised on the Prairies and later studied nursing at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, where she received her R.N. While in Ottawa she met and married Ronald L. (Ron) Duke and moved to Banff in 1945, living there ever since. Pat was a true mountain person with a great love of the outdoors, where she found peace, beauty and inspiration. Imbued with a strong sense of service, Pat came into contact with many people during her years as a nurse at the Mineral Springs Hospital, and through her volunteer work in the community with various groups, including the United Church, and the Banff Senior's Association. Pat will be greatly missed by her children, Jim (Lois) Duke of Calgary and granddaughter Natasha; Kathy (Reid) Campbell and grandchildren, Forrest, Michael and Jean of Invermere; and Dave (Deborah) Duke and granddaughter Jenna of Vernon; as well as many others near and far. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 1997 at Rundle Memorial United Church, 302 Buffalo Street in Banff. Flowers are gratefully declined; however, donations in her name may be made to the Rundle Memorial United Church, Box 1086, Banff T0L 0C0, or the Banff Senior's Association, Box 2194, Banff, T0L 0C0. FELLGER -- Frederick Ernest Fellger passed away at the Foothills Hospital on Wednesday, December 3, 1997, after a brief struggle with cancer, at the age of 54 years. Fred grew up on a farm near Scandia, AB. He lived all his adult life in Calgary until moving to Cochrane in 1990. He worked for CP Transport for seven years, then in 1971 began transporting vehicles, a job that he truly enjoyed and continued doing for the past twenty-six years. Fred loved his horses and had a very special way with them. He enjoyed camping; talking about horses, cars and trucks with his buddies; and auction sales. Fred will be especially remembered for his great sense of humor. Fred will be sadly missed and forever remembered by his loving wife, Vivian; his son Lloyd Fellger of Fort McMurray; his three daughters, Sheri Lane of Calgary, Shonna and Stacey Fellger of Mayerthorpe; and his two grandchildren, Jasmine and Jacob Fellger of Mayerthorpe. He is also survived by his brother Alan (Shirley) Fellger of Vauxhall; and three sisters, Ann (Jack) Craik, Beverly (Doug) Erskine, all of Lethbridge, and Patricia (Gary) Ring of Brooks; as well as other relatives and many friends. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Elizabeth Fellger of Vauxhall. Funeral Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Crowfoot Chapel", (82 Crowfoot Circle N.W.), on Monday, December 8, 1997 at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Gordon Hanson of Advent Lutheran Church officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Canadian Cancer Society (Colon Cancer Research), 215 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, Alberta T2G 1A2. Special thanks to Dr. D. GILLESPIE -- Lillian of Calgary, passed away at the Rockyview Hospital on December 4, 1997 at the age of 87 years. Lillian was the loving mother of Jacqueline (Gordon) Kerr; loving grandmother of Bruce (Margret), Brent (Aimee), Blair (Susan); loving great-grandmother of Daryl and Michelle Kerr and Carson and Maggie Kerr. She is also survived by her sister Ann (Len) Girling and their sons, Gary (Yvonne), Greg (Dixie), and their families, as well as other nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the staff of Beaverbrook Ward at the Bow View Manor for their care and compassion. At Lillian's request, a private Family Service will be held in the Chapel of MOUNTAIN VIEW FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, December 9, 1997 with Pastor Brent Kerr officiating. Interment to follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. LOOSE -- Mrs. Anna Loose, beloved wife of the late Peter Loose, went to be with the Lord on December 4, 1997 at the Bow View Manor at the age of 100 years. As a loving mother, she will be always be cherished and remembered by her children, Molly (Dave) Beisel of Swift Current, Sask., Esther (Dave) Gilson of Calgary, Alma Merkel of High River, Alta., Melvin (Mary) Loose of Empress, Alta., Robert (Lucille) Loose of Vancouver, B.C.; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-four great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren, who loved her dearly. She was a kind and gentle woman and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Bow View Manor. Funeral Services will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., on Monday, December 8, 1997 at 3:00 p.m. with the Reverend Denzel S. KAYTER -- John Andrew passed peacefully on Wednesday, December 3, 1997, at the age of 74 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of fifty-one years, Noreen. John will be missed by his five daughters, Faye-Marie Kayter, Donna-Mae (Jim) Harvey; Barbara-Joan Miller, Cathy-Anne (Jim) O'Connell and Laura (Jack) Maetche; eight grandchildren, Chad (Erinn) Sehn, Wayne (Susan) Berglof, Dawn (Brian) Williams, Gary Berglof, Jason and Jared Miller, and Hannah and Sarah Maetche. He also leaves to remember him, his brother Martin (Delores) Kaytar and their three children. John's friends, Hanne and Glenn Mason will also miss him. A Memorial Service will be held at the CALGARY CREMATORIUM CHAPEL, 3219 - 4 Street N.W., (within Queen's Park Cemetery), on Monday, December 8, 1997 at 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Prescott Burrill officiating. KNOTT -- Ivy Jean Knott passed away peacefully at Rosedale Hospice on December 3, 1997 at the age of 63 years. Ivy was born in London, ON on February 12, 1934. She is survived by a brother Tom Ready; a nephew, nieces, cousins and aunts and uncles, all of London, ON. She was a dear, kind and special friend to many. Memorial Services will be held at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Fish Creek Chapel" (14441 Bannister Road S.E.), on Monday, December 8, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Glasgow officiating. KROMM -- Fred Kromm, beloved husband of Anne Kromm of Calgary, passed away at the Glenmore Park Auxiliary Hospital on Friday, December 5, 1997 at the age of 81 years. McKINNON -- Eva Ethel McKinnon (nee Dickie) former resident of Bow Centre Place, Calgary, passed away at the Bow Crest Nursing Home on Saturday, December 6, 1997, at the age of 93 years. Eva was born to a Scottish family, second of twelve children, in Creelman, NWT on August 16, 1904. She has resided in Calgary since 1956. Always enjoying good health with many varied interests, such as Canadian History, current affairs, needlework, Sunday picnics, hockey games, and a canoe ride at eighty-seven years old. She enjoyed many happy times with her granddaughter Lori Eva; family gatherings; and picnics with Ethel and Danny's family. Eva will be lovingly remembered by her family, John of Chilliwack, BC, Marvin Ross (Mable) of Prince George, BC, Ellen (Ernie Hauca) of Edmonton, Ethel (Danny Nikiforuk) of Calgary; seventeen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren; as well as her sisters, Pearl, Hazel and Amy, all of Saskatchewan. She was predeceased by her husband David, son Gerald, daughter Phyllis, grandsons, David and Douglas Soppit and Glenn Hauca, four brothers and four sisters. Eva wished to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at Bow Centre Place, (7915 - 43 Avenue N.W.), on Tuesday, December 9, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. with Linda Hunter officiating. MORIN -- Gilles R. Morin, beloved husband of Ms. Cyndy Iampen of Calgary, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 2, 1997, after a terrible accident at the age of 37 years. Gilles was born on March 22, 1960 in Cornwall, Ontario and moved to Calgary in 1990. He was a very beautiful person who touched the lives of many people especially his wife Cyndy and their three children, Keanan (three years), Haley (one and a half years) and soon to be born child due in March near his birthday. Gilles most favorite moments were spent lazing around with his family on Sunday mornings; spontaneously dancing with his wife and kids; and passionately loving those dear to him. Besides his wife and children, Gilles is survived by his mother and father, Annette and Arthur Morin of Cornwall, ON; three sisters, Lise Gault and Lynn Markell of Cornwall, ON and Nicole Morin of Robinsonville, NB, and their families. He is also remembered by his extended family, Fran and Tim Clark of Calgary; Cori Iampen of Saskatchewan; Marcy Bufford and family; Sandy Richter and family of St. Albert, AB; Perry and Debbie Froats; Danny and Nicole Le Blanc and their families, all from Cornwall, ON; as well as countless other friends too numerous to mention. He was predeceased by his big brother Robert Morin. We all feel very blessed to have known his love and selfless compassion. He is truly missed.
