CHRISTIANSON -- Nellie Alberta passed away at the Willow Creek Auxiliary Hospital, Claresholm, Alberta on Tuesday, October 14, 1997 at the age of 96 years. Beloved wife of seventy-five years of the late Theodore Christianson, who with their only son Clemens passed away in 1996. She is survived by daughters, Joyce (Ken) Murray of Claresholm and Ellaine (John) Pegler of Turner Valley; daughter-in-law Cathy Christianson of Calgary; grandchildren, Suzanne Taitinger and Darrell Mitchell of Delta, B.C., Ryan Taitinger of Ft. McMurray, Kelly Taitinger of Vancouver, B.C., Mark Taitinger and Hali of Calgary, Cameron (Beth) Christianson, Alex and Raye of Brooks, Tom (Donna) Christianson, Jeffrey and Leanne of Calgary, Bill Christianson of Brooks, Duane (Shirley) Pegler of Victoria, B.C., Karen Pegler and Jim Perks (Nell and Oliver) of Calgary, Stephen Pegler of Calgary and Nan and Mark Opheim of Scottsdale, Arizona; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Roy) Warnock of Ardrossan and Mae (Jackie) Warnock of Edmonton. Nellie was born May 11, 1901 in Tilbury, Ontario. She homesteaded in Barons, Alberta in 1905. Following her marriage in 1921 to Dore who worked for the U.G.G., they resided in several towns and cities, ending in Calgary where they resided for fifty-two years. Funeral Services will be held at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel", 3220 - 4 Street N.W., on Saturday, October 18, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Willow Creek Auxiliary Hospital, Box 700, Claresholm, Alberta T0L 0T0. FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel", Directors. Telephone: 297-0888. COLVIN -- John Gray Colvin passed away in Creston, B.C. on October 15, 1997 after a lengthy illness. John was born in New Stevenson, Scotland in 1909 and immigrated to Calgary in 1920. He operated Colvin Meat Market and Banner Meats for many years. He was predeceased by his wife Elva of fifty-three years in 1988. He is survived by his son Bradley, daughter Joanne, brother Jim, plus numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Joanne who was ably supported by Creston Home Support nursing to make his last years as comfortable as possible. The Memorial Service was held Saturday, October 18, 1997 at 4:00 p.m. from the G.F. OLIVER FUNERAL CHAPEL, with Rev. Carl Sawler officiating. Cremation preceded the Service at the East-West Kootenay Crematorium Ltd., Cranbrook, B.C.

EDDIE -- Geraldine Eddie of Calgary, AB, formerly of St. John's, Nfld., passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 15, 1997 at the age of 42 years. She is survived by her two sons, Shawn and Andrew; her mother Loretta; ten brothers and sisters, as well as numerous relatives and friends. A Memorial Mass will be held at Holy Name Catholic Church, 2223 - 34 Street S.W., Calgary, AB on Saturday, October 18, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Stanislaw Lasko, SDS, Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Gerri's memory may be made to the Tom Baker Cancer Centre, c/o Alberta Cancer Foundation, 1331 - 29 Street N.W., Calgary, AB T2N 4N4. Arrangements and Cremation entrusted to PERSONAL ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL SERVICES, 7016 Farrell Road S.E. Telephone: 216-5111.

ILES -- Ernest Edward passed away after a brief illness at the Rockyview Hospital on October 11, 1997 at the age of 74 years. Predeceased by his wife Grace in 1993, he will be lovingly remembered by his four daughters, Kathleen (Ken) Swan, Margaret (Lee) Bolland, Violet Iles and Susanne (Reg) Pedersen. He will be dearly missed by his grandchildren, Justin, Jesse, Walter, Tyrel, Lindsey, Trevor and Taylor; as well as by the many friends he had in both the Calgary and Vermilion areas. Ernest was a kind and compassionate person, always willing to lend a hand to those in need. At his request, no formal Services will be held. Arrangements entrusted to FIRST MEMORIAL. JOHNSTON -- Rodney Theodore Johnston, loving husband of Thelma Johnston, High River, formerly of the Dinton district, passed away at the High River Hospital on October 15, 1997 at the age of 87 years. Besides his wife Thelma, Rod is survived by his daughters, Joyce and Vic Willoughby, Red Deer, and Marian and Bill Benner and Margaret and Walter Hubarewich, all of Calgary; his sons, David and Joy Johnston, Red Deer and Dennis Theodore (Ted) and Helen Johnston, Calgary; nineteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Lila Peckham, Calgary. Rod was predeceased by his sisters, Elma Hall, Dorothy Paul, Marjorie Peckham and Irma Bishop. Service will be held at the High River United Church on Saturday, October 18 at 2:00 p.m., Sue MacDonald of Blackie-Gladys United Church officiating. Rod's cremated remains will be placed in Highwood Columbarium following the Service. If desired, contributions may be made in Rod's memory to the C. and A.C. Fund, Grand Encampment, I.O.O.F. Lodge, c/o Doug Robins, 325 - 11 Avenue S.E., High River, T1V 1A6. SNODGRASS FUNERAL HOME LTD. (652-2222, 938-3111) Directors.

LAMBERT -- Gordon Robert passed away peacefully following a courageous battle with cancer in Calgary on October 14, 1997 at the age of 68 years. Gordon joined the RCAF in 1947 and served until 1976. He then joined the civil service until his retirement at age sixty. Gordon was a very proud and active member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 264. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his son Gary and his wife Mary, and their daughter Fionna; his daughter Annette Sephton and her husband Bob, and their children, Cara, Drew, and Elliott. Gordon was predeceased by his loving wife Inga. Those wishing to pay their respects, may do so at FOSTER'S FUNERAL HOMES "Garden Chapel", 3220 - 4 Street N.W. on Sunday, October 19, 1997 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Foster's Funeral Homes "Garden Chapel" on Monday, October 20, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. R.H.G. Rodgers officiating. Interment to take place later in Ontario. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, Research for Prostate Cancer, Second Floor, 215 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary T2G 1A2.
