FALCONER -- Otta Falconer of the Delia and Drumheller area passed away quietly in the Drumheller Hospital on October 15, 1997 at the age of 99 years. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 20, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. from the Fellowship Baptist Church in Drumheller, Interment to follow in the Delia Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of COURTNEY-WINTER'S FUNERAL CHAPEL. Telephone: 1-403-823-2666.

ILES -- Ernest, passed away at the age of 74 years at the Rockyview Hospital, October 11, 1997. Memorial Service will be held at Full Gospel Church, 917 - 14 Avenue S.W., at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 18, 1997. All friends are welcome to attend.
LEE -- Mrs. Ngok Nui Lee passed away peacefully at the Beverly Centre on Tuesday, October 14, 1997 at the age of 104 years. She was the beloved mother of Chun Tao (son-in-law Chu Lam Ng), New York; Terry (daughter-in-law Gam Yee), and Laurie (daughter-in-law Lydia) of Calgary. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and twenty-five great-grandchildren. Mrs. Lee was predeceased by her husband Henry in 1971, her daughter in 1984, her sister and her two brothers in China. Mrs. Lee was born in Toy Sun, Kwangtung, China and came to Canada in 1964 and resided in Calgary with her loving family. She was a member of the Lee Association. The family wish to express their appreciation and thanks to Dr. S. Grunberg and the Beverly Centre Nursing and Kitchen staff for their kind care and attention to Mrs. Lee and her family. Relatives and friends are invited for Visitation at LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOME LTD. (17 Avenue and 2 Street S.W.) on Saturday, October 18, 1997 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Leyden's "Chapel of Remembrance" on Sunday, October 19, 1997 at 2:00 p.m with Rev. LYALL -- Mr. Alexander Lyall, of Millarville, passed away at the Oilfields Hospital on October 15, 1997 at the age of 85 years. Alex is survived by his loving wife Norma of twenty-six years; his brother Thomas (Betty) of Calgary; nephews, Donald (Noreen) of Elk Water, Gordon (Lil) of Calgary; nieces, Elizabeth (Wayne) Miller of Calgary, Susan (Greg) Strothers of Calgary; cousins, Peggy McHarg of Black Diamond, R.J. "Dick" Lyall of Innisfail; stepchildren, David (Gail) Wildman and their children, Jay, Brett and Kirk, Mary Ann (Earl) Watson and their daughter Holly. Alex was predeceased by his mother Sarah in 1970, brother Richard in 1972, sister-in-law Marion in 1996, and niece Linda in 1985. Alex was born in Calgary in 1911. His family homesteaded in the Square Butte district in 1910. He worked for Home Oil as a battery operator in the oil patch from 1948 to 1971. He loved to travel, woodworking and gardening. He gave freely of his time to community services and all the many charities he supported. Many of the neighbors in the community were beneficiaries of his good will. A Visitation will be held at SNODGRASS FUNERAL HOME, 200 Woodgate Road, Okotoks, on Sunday, October 19, between 2:00 and 5:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Christ Church Millarville, on Monday, October 20, 1997 at 1:00 p.m., the Rev. Bob Griffin officiating. Interment to follow at Christ Church Millarville Cemetery. If desired, memorial tributes in Alex's name may be made to S.T.A.R.S., Box 570, 1441 Aviation Park N.E., Calgary, T2E 8M7 or to the Canadian Cancer Society, Second Floor, 215 - 12 Avenue S.E., Calgary, T2G 1A2. MIFFLIN -- James Cornelius Mifflin passed away on Monday, October 13, 1997 at the age of 89 years. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, October 18, 1997 at St. Michael's Anglican Church, 709 - 7 Street, Canmore, AB. at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Bryan Beveridge officiating. MORASH -- Henry "Crash" Morash passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital on Monday, October 13, 1997 at the age of 83 years. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Ethel. He also leaves behind his sister Clara; and numerous nephews and nieces. Crash worked for Canadian Pacific for almost thirty-five years as a Supervising Passenger Agent. Henry served in World War II and is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Centennial Branch No. 285. Funeral Services will be held at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 66 - 7 Street N.E., on Friday, October 17, 1997 at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor Jack Hetzel officiating. Interment to follow in the Field of Honour, Queen's Park Cemetery. If friends desire, memorial donations may be made directly to St. Matthew Lutheran Church Building Fund. McDOWELL -- Edith Lucille, aged 72 years, of Claresholm, Alberta, passed away October 13, 1997 at Calgary, beloved wife of Robert McDowell of Claresholm. SABOURIN -- Mr. Antonio Gaston Sabourin of Calgary passed away at home, on October 14, 1997, at the age of 60 years. There will be a Memorial Service in Winnipeg at a later date. Cremation and arrangements in care of LEYDEN'S FUNERAL HOMES LTD. Telephone: 228-4422.

SAVIN -- Wilda Savin (nee Corlett), beloved wife of Mr. William (Bill) Savin, passed away in Calgary, Alberta on October 12, 1997, at the age of 61 years, after a courageous battle with cancer. Wilda was born in Edmonton where she lived until her graduation as a Registered Nurse from the Edmonton General Hospital (1958). She was a member of the RCAC where she distinguished herself by being one of the first women in Canada to gain a pilot's licence under the RCAC scholarship program. She served as a nursing sister in the RCAF, then moved to Saskatoon, where she met her husband Bill Savin, and furthered her nursing education by gaining a Diploma in Teaching and Supervision. Wilda later obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan. Her nursing career has included working as an RN, instructing nursing, Executive Director with the V.O.N. and numerous other senior nursing positions in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and Alberta. Wilda was also actively involved with the Professional Conduct and other committees within the nursing associations in Saskatchewan and Alberta. Wilda's interests and accomplishments included memberships with Embroidery Canada, regional needlework clubs, International Wine and Food Society and the German Wine Society. She was a Dame de la Chaine des Rotisseurs and a Graduate from the German Wine Academy and held leadership positions in the Girl Guides of Canada. She enjoyed traveling, the symphony and fine dining. Wilda is survived by her husband Bill; her children, Robert and his wife Lisa, Donald and Catherine; her mother Ruth Corlett; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and Ambrose Atkins, Patricia and Don Prentice, and Norma and Graham Downey; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister and daughter. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Park Memorial Chapel", (5008 Elbow Drive S.W.), today, October 17, 1997 from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at the Park Memorial Chapel, on Saturday, October 18, 1997 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Gordon F. Kennedy, C.S.B. of Canadian Martyrs' Catholic Church officiating. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, the family would ask that donations be made to the Wilda Savin Nursing Scholarship Fund through the Bank of Montreal.

SOLWAY -- Gertrude (Trudy) passed away at the Boyle General Hospital on October 14, 1997 at the age of 84 years. Trudy is survived by her stepsons, Richard (Karen) Foy of Boyle, AB, Leonard Foy and friend Alice of Fernie, B.C., Donald Foy of Calgary; twenty-six grandchildren, thirty-four great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by six sisters, Christine, Margaret, Mary, Josephine, Betty and Agnes, five brothers, Gabe, Andrew, Peter, Paul and John, step-daughter Dorothy, stepson Joseph and her loving companion Leo Foy. Trudy was born at Minburn, AB on December 18, 1912 and spent her years in Vermilion, Calgary, Turner Valley, Black Diamond and Boyle, AB. Her favourite pastime was eating out at restaurants and playing solitaire. The majority of her life was spent giving her time and love to family and friends. Evening Prayers will be said at SNODGRASS Funeral Chapel, 200 Woodgate Road, Okotoks, on Friday, October 17, 1997 at 7:00 p.m. Mass Services will be held at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, Black Diamond, AB, on October 18, 1997 at 11:00 a.m., the Rev. Father John Bastigal, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Okotoks Roman Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements in care of SNODGRASS FUNERAL HOME (Okotoks) LTD. Telephone: 938-3111.

VINCENT -- Lastie Paul Jr. Lastie passed away in Victoria, B.C. on Sunday, October 12, 1997. Born in Vinton, Louisiana. Lastie was a Radar Officer during World War II and an engineering graduate of Rice University, Texas. He resided in Calgary, Alberta before moving to Sidney, B.C. Predeceased by his wife Norma Vincent (Gershaw), he is survived by his daughter Nancy Blackstock of Vancouver, B.C.; and sons, Scott and Paul of Louisiana.
