DODDS, Muriel Aileen (Mighton)
Muriel Aileen Dodds (Mighton) passed away peacefully at her home December 10, 2000, at the age of 78.
She joins her husband, George whom she has missed so much for the past 12 years, and her grandson, Matthew.
She will be remembered with love by her daughters, Lynne (Rick), Pat (Dean), Laurie (Jim); and her son, Don; as well as her six grandchildren: Geoff, Kayla, Zach, Brenna, Hollyn and Sam. Her brother, Jack Mighton (Ilene) and his family, in addition to many other relatives and friends, will also mourn her passing.
Special thanks to all of the staff at Scenic Acres Retirement Residence and Calgary Home Care Services.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Calgary Palliative Home Care Services, 320-17 Avenue SW, T2S 2V1.
A celebration of Muriel's life will be held at Grace United Church, 6215-104 Ave., Edmonton on Saturday, January 6, 2001, at 11:00 a.m.

ELKOW, John
On December 13, 2000, Mr. John Elkow of Two Hills passed away at the age of 90 years.
He is survived by three brothers and five sisters; Joe (Sandra) of Warwick, Marshall (Nadia) of Edmonton, Andy (Rose), Anne Dadensky, Isabel (Mike) Topolinski, all of Two Hills, Pearl Werenka of Calgary, Sophia McLean of Tedford, Ontario, Esther Mandrusiak of Edmonton; one sister-in-law, Daisy Elkow; one brother-in-law, Bill Diakiw; also numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Mary; five brothers, Bill, Mike, Dmetro, Metro and Nick; two sisters, Victoria and Nettie. Funeral Service Saturday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Two Hills. Reverend Father Wasyl Sapiha officiating with interment in St. Paraskevia Ukrainian Orthodox Cemetery, Two Hills.

FREEMAN, Robert George
1920 - 2000
On Wednesday, December 13, 2000 Bob Freeman passed away peacefully at the age of 80.
He is survived by his wife, Esther; brother, Ken (Melba) Freeman of Vancouver; nephews, Mike (Lawayne) Freeman of Boise, ID, and Ed (Jennifer) Freeman of Los Angeles, CA. Bob was predeceased by his brother, Milne.
He is also survived by many other family members and friends too numerous to mention.
A celebration of Bob's life will be held at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church (11223 51 Avenue, Edmonton) on Tuesday, December 19, 2000 at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Youth Emergency Shelter Society of Edmonton, 9310-82 Avenue.

FRUNCHAK, George
On December 14, 2000, Mr. George Frunchak of Edmonton, formerly of Andrew and Evansburg, passed away.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pearl; two daughters, Josephine (Skip) Wilson and Gloria (Ignazio) Marino; four grandchildren, Alan (Theresa) Wilson, Lori (Allan) Schmidt, Tina Wenckowski and Jason (Tracy) Marino; five great-grandchildren, Tyler, Troy, Kyle, Ethan and Jonah; and one sister, Laura Powell; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Predeceased by son, Orest on May 18, 1960; his parents; six sisters and three brothers.
Prayers Monday, December 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Park Memorial Chapel, 9709 - 111 Avenue, Edmonton.
Funeral Rite Tuesday, December 19 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Ukrainian Orthodox Church, Sachava, Alberta.
Reverend Gene Maximiuk officiating with interment in Church Cemetery.

GIBSON, Christopher Graham (Gordon)
In loving memory of our brother, Christopher Graham (Gordon) Gibson who passed away suddenly on December 8, 2000 at the age of 48 years.
He is predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Eleanor.
He leaves to mourn his great-aunt, Eleanor Kretchman; his brothers, Grant (Joan), Lawrence (Aline), Cam (Ivy), Hugh (Cheryl); sisters, Sherril (Fred) Miller, Heather Lockhart, Sharon (Gary) Stone, Barb (Larry) Wallin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held at a future date.

GOUDREAU, Rene
On Friday, December 8, 2000, Rene passed away suddenly in a vehicle accident in Sherwood Park.
He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his loving companion, Rhia; sons, Marc and Justin; step-children, Byron, Heather and Tyler; five brothers, Alcide (Terry), Ernie (Louise), Richard, Martin (Theresa), Joe (Audrey); two sisters, Irene (Ted) and Diane (Gil); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Prayer Service will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2000 at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church (Beaumont) at 7:00 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, December 18, 2000 at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father David Brabant Celebrant.
Interment to follow at St. Vital Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.

GROFF, Barry Don
On Monday, December 11th, 2000
Mr. Barry Groff passed away suddenly at the age of 27 years.
He is survived by his parents, Susan and Lloyd Nickerson of Westlock; his father, Douglas Groff of Yellowknife, NWT; three brothers, Laine, Michael and Chad; two sisters, Patricia and Ashley; his grandmother, Matilda Groff of Lethbridge and his grandfather, George Nickerson of Westlock; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives and many friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 16th, 2000 in the Westlock Funeral Chapel at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Albin Liknes officiating.

HARTRY, Terrylee "Terry"
Mrs. Terry Hartry, of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, December 11th, 2000 at the age of 52 years.
Terry leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Lannette (Allan) Wall, and Tish Hartry, (fiance Jeff Standell) all of Medicine Hat; her mother, Mary Claire McGuire of Edmonton; her most trusted friend and guide, Samson; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Logan and Bradley; two sisters, Twila Riopel and Terese (Greg) Reeves, both of Edmonton; incredible extended family and friends in Medicine Hat; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Terry was predeceased by her father, Wilfred Hartry; and her first guide dog Brandy.
Terry was born on December 14th, 1947 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan and moved with her family as a child to Edmonton where she graduated from High School.
After graduation, Terry became a nursing assistant, graduating from the Red Deer General Hospital.
She then became employed at the Royal Alexander Hospital in the Preemie Nursery.
After the arrival of her two wonderful children, they moved to Medicine Hat.
Terry was devoted to her career and strove to become a registered nurse; however, due to her illness (diabetes) she became blind.
This has never slowed her down; she lived life to the fullest!
Terry was very community minded and volunteered for C.N.I.B., United Way, Multi Folk Arts Council, Canadian Diabetes Association to name just a few. She enjoyed the many outings with the Alberta Sports & Recreation Association for the blind especially wiener roasts and bowling.
Her dedication, kindness and association with these organizations touched the lives of many people.
She loved to talk to students about what it was like to be blind and having her guide dog, Samson. Life gave her many challenges, but a very positive sense of humor was the saving grace for both Terry and her family.
A Celebration of Terry's life and Vigil Rites (prayers) will be said at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 1250 Division Avenue SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta on Thursday, December 14th, 2000 at 7:00 p.m.
The Funeral Mass will be celebrated in St. Mary'S Roman Catholic Church, on Friday, December 15th, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. with Father David C. Meadows, celebrant.
Interment will follow in the Roman Catholic Section at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery, Medicine Hat, Alberta.
As an expression of sympathy those wishing to remember Mrs. Terry Hartry may do so with a gift to the Canadian Diabetes Association, #102, 73-7th Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 1J2 or to the CNIB, 533-1 Street SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 0A9 or to the Leader Dog School, P.O. Box 5000, 1039S Rochester Road, Rochester, Michigan 48307.

HARVEY, Marie Ange (nee Courchesne)
On December 12, 2000, Marie Ange Harvey of Edmonton passed away in her 90th year.
She will be sadly missed and remembered by her two daughters, Mae Berrecloth and Phylliss (Leo) Stein both of Edmonton; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Horace in 1993; four brothers and three sisters.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2000 at Assumption Catholic Church (9040-95 Avenue) at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Archie MacKenzie officiating. It was Marie Ange's wish to be cremated.
Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
