McLEOD (Harrison), Mary Rejean (Jean)

Passed on to a better place. The pain is gone, the last sigh taken. Jean is survived by her only child, Edwin Allen Harrison and his wife Linda Ellen; her sister-in-law, Emma Harrison; both her nieces, Marie and husband Rollie Willick of Oyen, Alberta and Kennethe and husband Paul Hermary of Clive, Alberta. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon Malcolm McLeod in 1985; sister, Louise Humphries of Victoria in 1987; brothers, Allen Clifford Harrison in 1945, Edwin Thomas Harrison in 1999, both of Glen Kerr, SK. As per Jean's wishes there will be no funeral. Jean will be cremated and her ashes will be buried next to her loving husband in the spring. Thank you to the staff of St. Joseph's Auxiliary Hospital for all their kindness and loving care.

MURRAY, Lawrence Arthur

On Wednesday, December 13, 2000 Larry Murray passed away at home at the age of 76 years. He leaves, to cherish his memories, his sons, Cameron and Brent; his daughters-in-law, Sally and Barbara; and grandchildren, Clark and Erin. He will also be sadly missed by the Murrays of Wainwright, and the Littles of Grande Prairie; as well as by many Gyros, friends and former colleagues from work. He was predeceased by his wife, Kay; and his brothers, Garney and Alex. Larry served in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Sunderland pilot during W.W.II and worked for over 50 years in the sewing machine trade. Larry loved life and those around him. He valued his friendships and had many life long friends. He will be missed and remembered as a Gentle Man. A Memorial Service will be held at Connelly-McKinley Funeral Home at 10011-114 Street on Monday the 18th of December at 3:00 p.m. with a light lunch and refreshments to follow. Interment will follow in the spring. Cam and Brent would like to offer sincere thanks to Dr. Joe Lauerman for his dedication to his patients and a lifetime of caring. NAWROT, Joseph Stanley

On December 9, 2000, Mr. Joseph Stanley Nawrot of Edmonton, formerly of Dundas, Ontario, passed away at the age of 66 years. He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two sons, Dean (Linda) Nawrot of Sherwood Park and Torwan (Lori) Nawrot of Courtney, B.C.; one daughter, Cynthia (her dog, Bear) Nawrot of Edmonton; four grandchildren; and two brothers. Predeceased by his parents, John and Sylvia. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, December 20 at 1:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples, 10821-96 Street with Reverend James L. Holland OMI officiating. Cremation will follow in the Park Memorial Crematorium. NIELSEN, Ellalene Dorothy

On December 9, 2000, Mrs. Ellalene Dorothy Nielsen of Edmonton, and formerly of Dawson City, Yukon, daughter of Noreen and Phillip Mercredi, passed away at the age of 85 years. She is survived by her loving family, Maree (George) MacPherson, Phylis (Len) Priebe, Dorothy Rigby, Teena (Mickey) Miller, Bill (Veda) Nielsen and Norma (John) Seywright; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Margaret Millen of Hawaii; and niece, Diana Hollingsworth of Lubbock, Texas. Predeceased by her husband, Bill in 1979; grandson, Gordon MacPherson in 1996; and son-in-law, Warren Rigby in 2000. There will be a Celebration of Ella's Life Tuesday, June 26, 2001 in Fort Smith, NWT. Her cremains will be placed alongside her mother and brother. Cremation in the Park Memorial Crematorium. SALUMAY, Liselotte Maria

On Wednesday, December 13, 2000 Liselotte Salumay of Edmonton, passed away peacefully at the age of 79 years. Liselotte is survived by her loving family, one son and one daughter, Robert Salumay of Burnaby, B.C. and Henriette Brand of Langley, B.C.; five grandchildren, Richard, Barbara, Sandra, Steven and Lauren; one great-grandchild, Alexandra; and niece, Henny Jansen. Liselotte was predeceased by her husband, Eric Salumay. A Remembrance of Life will be held on Monday, December 18, 2000 from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at the Ramada Inn (Calgary Trail). The family wishes to thank the staff of Mount Pleasant Care Centre for all their help. SIMMONDS, Mary H. (nee Allan)

Mary Simmonds passed quietly away on December 12, 2000, at the age of 91 years. Predeceased by her husband, Charles in 1962, she leaves her daughter, Jennifer (Jan); two sisters, Isabel Van Sickle of Kelowna and Nellie Innes of Vancouver; five nephews and two nieces and their families; and many cousins. Mary was predeceased by her sisters, Christine and Margaret; and her brothers, Robert and Jack. She supported her husband in his community league work and served as an Alberta Provincial Girl Guide Commissioner. Funeral Services will be held Monday, December 18, at 1:00 p.m. at the South Side Memorial Chapel, 8310-104 Street, Edmonton, with interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. SPRATT, Ralph Charles

On Wednesday, December 13, 2000 Ralph Spratt of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 71. Ralph was predeceased by his loving wife, Eva on October 31, 1997. Ralph will be forever remembered by his three children, daughter, Idel (Vern) Roth; son, Mitchell; son, Averell (Priscilla); nine grandchildren, Tyler, Rae-Lee and Brianna Roth, Laurenne, Carleen, Dionne, Davis, Marina and Sterling Spratt; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerald (Eileen), Randall (Donna); nieces and nephews; and numerous friends. Ralph will be sadly missed by his family and friends, but dear memories of him will always be held in our hearts and thoughts. The family wishes to extend warm thanks to Dr. F. SYDOR, Fred

On December 13, 2000, Mr. Fred Sydor of Myrnam passed away at the age of 88 years. He is survived by two sons and three daughters, Victor of Glendon, William (Hilda) and Victoria (Taras) Luciw, all of Edmonton, Betty (Dave) Lyzaniuk of Two Hills and Linda Lee of Spruce Grove; the mother of his children, Mary Papirnik; 12 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen (John) Tymofichuk of Westlock; also numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Wasyl and Theodosia; one brother, George; and two sisters, Julia Grandy and Mary Tymchyshyn. Funeral Service Saturday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m. at Yewchin's Funeral Chapel, St. Paul. Reverend Father S. Dumec officiating with interment in St. Peter's Cemetery, Myrnam. TESCH, Jessie Ellen (nee MacIsaac)

In Loving Memory The Lord called Mom home on December 13, 2000. Mom struggled with her health for several years but she was always positive and courageous in the face of hardship. Her major accomplishment was raising her four daughters on her own after losing her husband, Albert in 1964. Her life was an inspiration to all who knew her. Jessie is lovingly remembered by her four daughters and their families, Jo Anne (Larry Morrison) Tesch, Alex, Cole and Bailey of Edmonton, AB; Donna (Larry) Coe, Tyler, Brett and Stephanie of Turtleford, SK; Darlene (Roger) Krahn, Rachel and Abby of St. Albert, AB; and Margie (Terry) Nazaroff, Isaac, Benjamin and Anya of Oliver, B.C.; also a special niece, Anne Marie (Al) Cooper, Shawn, Brad and Sarah of Sherwood Park. Jessie is also survived by a brother, John MacIsaac. Many other relatives and friends will cherish her memory. Mom joins our Heavenly Father and is reunited with her parents (John and Margaret MacIsaac); sisters (Peg, Marion, Kaye) and brother (Hugh); and her husband, Albert Tesch. A celebration of Jessie's life will be held on Saturday, December 16 at 11:00 a.m. at Memories Funeral Chapel, 13404 St. Albert Trail, Edmonton with Fr. George LaGrange O.M.I. officiating. A Memorial Service will be held at the United Church in Mervin, SK at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2000 with interment to follow. Donations in memory of Jessie may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 - 124 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5M 0H9 or to the Youville Home, 9 St. Vital Avenue, St. Albert, Alberta, T8N 1K1. The family would like to acknowledge and thank the staff at the Youville Home in St. Albert for the compassion and care they provided to Mom over the past year.

WRIGHT, Gladys

On Wednesday, December 13, 2000 Gladys Wright of Edmonton passed away at the age of 102 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter-in-law, Verna Wright; grandchildren, John and Joanna Wright; niece, Joy Hayward; grandnephew, Mark Hayward; grandnieces, Beverly and Valerie. Gladys was predeceased by her husband, William; son, William; brother, Harold Puylaert; and step-sister, Ruby Crackle. At Gladys' request no service will be held. Cremation has taken place.
