BANGS - Harvey Olander passed away peacefully February 28, 2000, at the age of 91, in the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Myrtle; and his two daughters, Ruth (Gerald) O'Dwyer of Calgary and Ina (Glenn) Oliver of Grande Prairie; as well as nine grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews and in-laws. Harvey was born May 20, 1908 in Leeds, North Dakota. He was predeceased by a son William in 1938, Laura (his wife of fifty-four years) in 1990, and a grandson Jamie in 1989, as well as his brothers, Roy and Milo. Harvey came to Medicine Hat in 1912 and lived in the Bindloss area until moving to Drumheller in 1941. They returned to Medicine Hat in 1956 where Harvey worked until his retirement in 1973. He became active in Senior Citizen Clubs in both Medicine Hat and Redcliff. He also loved to spend his time camping, fishing and traveling. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2000 at Pattison Funeral Home with Rev. Helen Reid officiating. Interment will follow at the Hillside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. Arrangements are by Pattison Funeral Home, Medicine Hat.

BOC - Mrs. Jean Boc (nee Surowski), beloved wife of Mr. Fred Boc of Calgary, AB, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on March 3, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 64 years. Jean, a native Calgarian, was born on November 22, 1935. She was a member of the English Choir at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church. In her earlier years, she participated in the Polish Dance Group. Jean enjoyed fishing and traveling with her family. Besides her loving husband, Jean is survived by her four children, Carol and Robert Spate of Vegreville, AB, Donna, Steve and Brenda Boc, Barb and Charlie Dvojmoc, all of Calgary; four grandchildren, Ryan and Miranda of Calgary, and James and Allan of Vegreville, AB. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters-in-law, John and Muriel Surowski of Vernon, B.C., Ed and Pat Surowski of Calgary, AB. Jean was predeceased by her parents, Joe and Josephine. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S "Chapel of the Bells" (2720 Centre Street North), on Sunday, March 5, 2000 at 5:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Grace Italian & English Catholic Church (1714 - 14 Avenue N.E.), on Monday, March 6, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Valentino Alberton C.S. Celebrant. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the charity of the donor's choice. Beloved wife of Hernani Ferreira; much-loved daughter of Arthur and Erica Gesell of Calgary; sister of Beverly and husband Chris, aunt of Rachel and Mitchell of Stouffville, Ont.; sister of Katherine, Christine, Dieter and his wife Jill of Calgary; loving daughter-in-law of Manuel and Eunice and sister-in-law Madeline of Etobicoke, Ont. HARDEN - Mr. Dale Kelly Harden of Calgary, passed away in Vancouver on Saturday, February 5, 2000, at the age of 41 years. Dale was born January 8, 1959 in Calgary. He attended school at Ernest Manning High School, then began working in construction. Dale moved to Vancouver during the construction boom there, where he resided until his passing. Besides his loving mother Sandra Harden of Calgary, Dale is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dawna and Randy Faryna of Sundre, AB, and Denise and Shane Falkenberg; two nephews, Curtis and Mitchell Falkenberg; and a niece Kourtney Falkenberg, all of Calgary. He is also survived by his very special friend Jennifer and her son Zach of Vancouver. Dale was predeceased by his father Dennis Harden in 1992, and his grandparents.
