TRAUTMAN, Shirley W. (nee Baker)
June 3, 1949 - August 2, 2004

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Shirley on August 2, 2004 at the age of 55 years. Shirley leaves to mourn her loss her children: Tammy, Shawna, Shane, Jevon, Jamie and their spouses; her grandchildren; her brother Don (Bonnie) Baker; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ritchie United Church, 9624-74 Ave. If desired, memorial donations can be made for the burial of the late Shirley Trautman, c/o Victoria Lewis, Evergreen Cemetery Office, 16102 - Fort Road. Edmonton, AB T5Y 6A2.

WORSLEY, Marjorie Edith
June 14, 1911 - August 5, 2004

On August 5, 2004, our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the age of 93 years. Marjorie will be lovingly remembered by two daughters, Denise (Grant) and Rae-Anne (Jim); six grandchildren, Kirsten, Colin, Jelina, Amber, Chantelle and Forest; two great-grandchildren, Lilith and Octavia; and her nieces and nephews. A celebration of Marjorie's life will be held in Southern Alberta at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

ADAMS, Rilla

On Thanksgiving Day, October 11, 2004, Rilla Mary Adams journeyed peacefully to meet her Lord. Rilla was born in Scobey, Montana 1923 and attended school in Black Diamond/Turner Valley. Rilla (nee Turcotte) married Herb Adams in 1941. They raised five children: Laura (Neil) Meadows, Mac (Lorna) Adams, Ron (Karen) Adams, Penny (Greg) Plosz and Lisa Haberstock (Rick). Rilla has 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. A memorial celebration of Rilla's love of family, friends and music will be held at Westlawn Courts (Phase 1), 9908- 165 Street, Edmonton on Sunday, October 17, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. Her family wishes to extend sincere thanks to Dr. Allen Ausford and nurses Karla and dy of Meadowlark Clinic. Also, Rilla appreciated the kindness and humor of lab and nursing staff at the Misericordia Hospital. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Regina District Assoc. of Community Living, 2216 Smith St. Regina, Saskatchewan S4P 2P5, or a charity of your choice.

DROZDA, Marjorie Joan
October 3, 1921 - October 9, 2004

Our dear mother and grandmother died peacefully at her home, the Good Samaritan Southgate Facility in Edmonton, Alberta with her family at her side. The family wishes to thank Dr. Grewal and the staff who made her feel loved and at home, and allowed her to express her loving gentle spirit. Marjorie was born in London, England and it was during her service in the Royal Air Force (England) that she met her husband Mike Drozda. She then left her home as a war bride to join him in Canada to build their life together. They eventually settled in Regina Saskatchewan. Following Mike's death Marjorie lived in Thunder Bay and Leduc. Marjorie was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra Milloy (Tom, deceased), Susan Goldsack (Dennis), four grandchildren Michael (Meghan) Milloy, Patrick Milloy, Rebecca (Allan) Hudgins, Julie Loppacher, and her great-grandson Jack Thomas Milloy, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Mike Drozda in 1981, her parents in England, and her son-in-law, Thomas Milloy. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 12 at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Leduc. Interment will be in Regina Saskatchewan at a later date.

KONTOGONIS, Helene

Helene Jeannette Kontogonis was taken into the arms of an angel on the morning of October 11, 2004. She was a wonderful mother and leaves to cherish her memory and courage, her children Theo and Nick Kotogonis, and their father George; Lori, Kerrie, Jackie and Bradley Parenteau and their father Gary. She also leaves to mourn her father, Ron Secours (Mary) who has been by her side in her last days. Her mother Claudette Lemarche (John). She also leaves behind her loving sister Gisele Troppmann (Ray and family), who gave Helene her unconditional love and compassion thought her illness, brother Joe Secours (Mary) who were also by her side, along with many other friends and relatives. Helene fought a very long courageous battle with a rare, crippling and painful disease called scleraderma. She fought long and hard so she could be here for her children longer. She will be so very much missed by all. If friends so desire, a trust fund has been established for Helene's children at a financial institution in Edmonton, Alberta c/o Gisele Troppmann, 640-34A Ave., Edmonton, Alberta. A Celebration of Helene's Life will be held at St. Vital Roman Catholic Parish, Beaumont, Alberta on Thursday, October 14, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Karol Zynel officiating.

KRISLOCK, Bruce Gilmore

On October 7, 2004, Bruce Krislock of Sherwood Park passed away at the age of 61 years. Bruce is lovingly remembered by his daughter Jacqui (Darren) Millar and their children Conor and Kayla, all of Orlando, Florida; and his son Shaun Krislock of Vancouver, BC. Bruce is also survived by his mother Pearlie, brothers: Keith (Gail) Krislock, Dwight (Val) Krislock; sisters: Lynette (Glen) Boos, Coralee (William) Farrell and sister-in-law Deanna. Bruce was predeceased by his father Gilmore and his brother Brian. Cremation has taken place and respecting Bruce's wishes no formal service will be held.

WORLD, Joan (Nee Millar)

Monday, October 11, 2004 Joan World of Edmonton passed away at the age of 89 years. Joan is survived by her husband, Philip; two sons, Bob ("Jo") and Philip (Marie); nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Joan was predeceased by one son Gordon; one sister and four brothers. A Celebration of Joan's Life will he held on Friday, October 15, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Christ the King Lutheran Church 13111-79 Street, Edmonton with Reverend Neil Otke officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

BROWNING, Victoria Hope (Vicki)

Victoria Hope Browning passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2004. Vicki and Ernie were married for 53 years and raised their family of four near Devon, Alberta. Her love for her children and five grandchildren was unwavering. Those family members surviving Vicki include her sister: Natalie Cherniwchan and her immediate family two daughters: Carol (Murray) Griffiths and Cathie; two sons: Gary (Susan Schiefler) and Glenn (Donna McVety). Her precious grandchildren who were her strength and constant source of pride, will deeply miss their grandma: Jesse and Meggan Griffiths (children of Carol and Murray Griffiths) and Caitlyn, Taylor and Sanders Browning (children of Gary and Marilyn Browning). Funeral Service will be held on December 3, 2004 at 1:00 pm at Richmond Park Church, 9340-69 Avenue, Edmonton, with Kevin Cowan and Coleen Farrell officiating.

KNIGHT, Elizabeth "Betty"

On November 26th, 2004, Mrs. Betty Knight of Mulhurst Bay, Alberta, passed away peacefully at the age of 83 in Wetaskwin General Hospital. Betty is survived by her sister, Peggy Ladd, of Red Deer, Alberta; also numerous nieces, nephews, friends and relatives. Predeceased by her husband Charlie, brothers Bill and Andy McBain, sisters Mamie Gardner and Jessie Meaver. A memorial service will be held at Mulhurst Bay Community Centre on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of floral tributes donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, Edmonton.

KURTZ, Ewald

On November 29, 2004, Mr. Ewald Kurtz passed away at the age of 83 years. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years Erna, three children; Darlene (Ron) Kalke, Lois (Ted) Caine, Wes Kurtz, two grandchildren; Shawn Kalke, Leanne (Darryl) Yeatman, one brother; Alex (Adella) Kurtz and one sister; Ella Inglesberger. Funeral Services will be held on Monday December 6th at 11:00 am at Southside Pentecostal Assembly, 2821 - 109 Street with viewing one hour prior. Interment to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Alberta Beach Camp Society.

SCHULTZ, Arthur

On November 26, 2004, Arthur Schultz of Edmonton, Alberta went to be with his Lord and Saviour, at the age of 102 years. Arthur was born on February 20, 1902 in Konary Poland. He immigrated to Canada in 1928 and farmed in the Bloomsbury/ Barrhead Community for many years. In 1965, Arthur retired and moved to Edmonton where he resided until his passing. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory one son Ernest (Alice) Schultz and daughters Erma Riehl (Clifford deceased), Ida (Karl) Gildemeister and Ruth (Oswald) Wanagas, 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous relatives and friends. Arthur was predeceased by his wife Olga in February 2000. A celebration of Arthur's life will be held on Wednesday, December 1, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Southside Pentecostal Assembly, 2821-109 Street, Edmonton, Alberta with interment to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Starehe Childrens Home.

WALLATOR, Florence Mary

Our beloved Mother, Nana, Great-Nana, passed away. She is survived by her daughter, Yvonne (Tom) Quigley; her son, Gordon (Wendy) Wallator (New Zealand); five grandchildren, Christina, Curtis, Trevor, Jody and Richard; four great-granddaughters, Krista, Kira, Kelsey and Quinn; her brother, Reverend Charles MacDonald; and two sisters, Margaret Stout and Beatrice Edwards. Predeceased by her husband, Gordon and her son Ross.

WOIDA, William (Bill)

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, Dad and Grandpa on November 25, 2004 at the age of 81 years. He leaves his devoted and loving wife Maureen; daughters, Jane (Lyle) Duncalfe of Innisfail, Louise (Kelly) Reid of Whitecourt; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild; sisters, Martha (John) Nay and Ruth McRae; brothers, Fred (Irene), Reuben, Albert (Verla), Gordon (Shirley), Ernie (Donna); sisters-in-law, Alme Woida, Betty (Malcolm) Anderson, Margaret McMurray; many nieces and nephews; dear Bess Kostynuk, good and caring friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his brother Art on November 22, 2004. Cremation has taken place. A private family service will be held at Kirk United Church with Reverend Syd Bell officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.

NOVAK, Donald Victor

Donald (Don) Novak of Edmonton passed away at the age of 63 years on February 1, 2010. Don is survived by his mother Mary Novak of Peace River, sister Helen Hammond of New Market, Ontario, brother Andy (Diana) Novak of Edmonton, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Don is predeceased by his father Walter and sister Rose Marie. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 2:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton. If friends so desire donation in Don’s memory may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation, 11560 University Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta T6G 1Z2.
MEAD, Catherine (Cay), Nee; Shaigec

January 20, 1925 — February 13, 2010 Cay left the love and comfort of her family to complete the last of her earthly journey alone. She leaves Dick, her loving husband of 60 years, her loving daughter Colleen Marie Mead (Tim Willis) of Victoria, her loving son Richard Stuart Mead (Jain Kurany) of Edmonton and loving granddaughter Sarah Marie the joy of her life. Also surviving Cay are brothers Bill of Coquitlam, Nick (Joyce) of Vernon, Fred (Helen) of Carvel, Harry (Adeline) of Edmonton and Elias of Edmonton, brother-in-law Jack Krys of Edmonton and sister-in-law Lily Mead of Busby and numerous nieces and nephews. Cay was predeceased by her parents Harry and Rosalie Shaigec, sisters Anne Askin and Mary Krys, brothers Peter and wife Joyce, Michael and Stan in infancy, brothers-in-law Stanley Askin and Philip Mead, nieces Karen, Patty and Cindy, sister-in-law Janet. Respecting Cay’s wishes no funeral will be held. A Celebration of Cay’s life will be held on Monday February 22, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue Edmonton. No flowers by request, donations may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute, 11560 University Avenue Edmonton T6G 1Z2.

KOWALCZYK, Jonathon Frank

It is with great sadness that the family of Jonathon Kowalczyk announces his passing on February 13, 2010. He is survived by his spouse Elaine Cherwoniak, his son Michael Kowalczyk (Calgary) and his mother Pauline O’Neill, his sister Rosie Allingham (Jack of Oyama, BC), his brother Wally Kowal (Karen of Powell River, BC), and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his unwavering love and devotion to his family, his pride, honesty and integrity. A private family service will be held at a later date in the Okanagan where Jonathon and Elaine had plans for retirement. Cremation has taken place at the Serenity Funeral Service. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta.

GERMAN, Frieda

The golden moments in the stream of life rush past us and we see nothing but sand; the angels come to visit us, and we only know them when they are gone. George Eliot. On February 13, 2010, our Heavenly Father called Frieda Home at the age of 86 years. Born near Stettler, Alberta, Frieda was one of twelve children of two of the first pioneers in the area. She was married to her late husband, Robert, for 58 years and is survived by her son Douglas who cared for her prior to her unexpected passing, one sister Frances Ferris and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Frieda had an enviable love of life, travelling and an enthusiasm for art and oil painting. Many of her commissioned works, especially portraits, are in family homes in Canada and Europe. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 21, at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Zion Lutheran Church, 11533 — 135 Street, Edmonton, with Pastor Darryl Roste officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, 10985 — 124 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5M 0H9.

EVANISHEN, Natalie

Natalie passed away peacefully at the age of 82 years on February 16, 2010 with her family by her side. Natalie was predeceased by her husband Peter and son George of Prince Alberta, Saskatchewan. Left to celebrate her life and memory are three sons and families, Mike (Joyce) of Vernon, Bill (Myrna) of Calgary, David (Colleen) of Edmonton as well as two daughter-in-laws Christine and Dale-Ann. Natalie’s great joys were her eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Natalie was a long time member of St. Michael’s Church participating in the choir and ladies auxiliary group. Prayers will be held on Monday, February 22, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 12104 — 129 Avenue, Edmonton. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church with interment to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nurses and staff of Venta Care Center 10120 — 135 Avenue Edmonton, The Royal Alexandra Hospital Ward 41 and Capital Care Norwood Palliative for their wonderful care and support during Natalie’s time at their facilities. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to St. Michael’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church or a charity of one’s choice.

BOWMAN, Pearl Maureen (Nee; Oliver)

Pearl Bowman passed away on Saturday February 13, 2010 at the age of 73 years. Pearl is survived by her loving husband Joe, son Peter (Celine), grandsons Cory and Tyler and niece Lita Warner. Pearl was predeceased by her sister Jean. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 18, 2010 from 7:00–9:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue Edmonton. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday February 19, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel with interment at St. Michael’s Cemetery. HYACINTHO, Michael Babatunde

M. Sc (Canada), MBA (Nigeria), B. Sc (Nigeria), MNSE, CISA, CISSP For a life well spent and as it pleased the Lord God Almighty, we announce the sudden transition into glory of our husband, father, brother, uncle and friend, Engineer Michael Babatunde Hyacintho, (aka BABA, Mr Tee, Uncle Tee) on February 5th, 2010 at the age of thirty nine years. He will be fondly missed by his wife, Victoria Hyacintho, his daughter, Merab Oluwatosin Hyacintho, and his son Michael Oluwaseyi Hyacintho Jnr. He will also be remembered by his sisters, Mrs. Juliana Bandele Akpama, Marie Yetunde Hyacintho, his brothers Anthony Kolade Hyacintho and Francis Adebayo Hyacintho, his nephew, Joshua Abiodun Hyacintho, his niece Ato-Obong Ini-Abasi Akpama and a host of other family members and friends.
