PALAMARCHUK, William Bill will be lovingly remembered by his wife Kathleen, and her children; Marica, Linda and Dennis, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Roach, Jordy Lorraine

The family of Jordy Roach announces her passing on August 9, 2010 in Edmonton. She was predeceased by her youngest daughter Sharon, her father Erwin Stotz and her sister Sandra Perrin. She is survived by her daughters; Laurie and Pat; her mother Tilly Stotz and five grandchildren; Christian, Nigel, Jessica, Clark and William also two brothers and a sister. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 16,2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Castle Downs Church of the Salvation Army, 12404–140 Avenue. Klemmer, Diane Rose (McKechnie)
May 26, 1947 — August 9, 2010

Mrs. Diane Rose Klemmer passed away at the age of 63 years. Diane will be lovingly remembered by her husband Bill, son Corey (Melanie), daughter Kelly (Doug), grandchildren Riley, Allison and Jack, mother Dorothy, seven brothers Ken, Terry, Earl, Vern, David, Dale and Steven, and two sisters Barb and Brenda. She is predeceased by her father Stanley and two brothers Harvey and Leonard. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 1:00 p.m., viewing at noon, at St. Andrews United Church at the corner of Grove Drive and Fieldstone Drive in Spruce Grove.

HOUSTON-REECE, Akbar Hashim

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our son, brother, nephew and grandson Akbar Hashim Houston-Reece on August 13, 2010. He will be lovingly remembered by his mother Kirsten Houston-Reece; father Rudolph Reece; brother Akeem Jamal Reece; sister Ayesha Jade Reece; grandmother Evelyn Houston; aunts and uncles Barbara, Karen, Maurice, Keith and Brian, and their families; godmother Claudette Fraser and family. Dolan, Robert Sidney
March 12, 1932 — July 27, 2010
78 Years

On July 27, at the age of 78, Robert (Mickey) Dolan passed away peacefully, asleep in his favorite chair. He leaves to mourn his loss, his son Sean, daughter Colleen, and his much loved grandchildren; Damon, Brittany, Brett, and Hannah. He is also survived by his two sisters Stella (Phillip), and Pat (Sylva), and many loving nieces, nephews, and their families. He was predeceased by his parents Ernie and Matilda Dolan, sister Nellie, and by his brother James (Bud) Dolan. Mickey’s passing leaves the world diminished by one less humorous and captivating storyteller. From his countless early tales of growing up on a northern Alberta farm during the Depression, through his adventures in the Naval reserve during his early twenties, the hunting trip that nearly cost him his life in the mid-sixties, right through to the present and his countless tales of the fascinating exploits of his beloved Grandchildren. Although his loss is cause for much sadness, as he often said, “We all gotta go sometime.” May you finally be at peace, ol’ pal. Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, August 14, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Serenity Funeral Service 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton with Oceanna Hall officiating.

DER, Jeremy Dorian
December 12, 1989 — July 20, 2010

Jeremy was a loving, caring, generous, adventurous and spiritual young man. His life was taken by the river which he so enjoyed. His spiritual being will remain one with nature and in each of our hearts. Jeremy leaves behind his mother Brenda (Der) and husband Bogdan (Ziniak), his father David (Huynh) and his wife Yen (Nguyen), four siblings, Emery, Haley, Daisy and step-brother Jerry. Also surviving is grandmother Thi Luoi, grandfather Lim Der, great-grandmother May Fong as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends and those newly acquainted. Willick, Mike Leo

On Thursday, August 12, 2010, at the age of 85 years Leo Willick passed away peacefully with his family at his side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Leo is survived by his wife (of 62 years) Lucy, his children; Doreen (John), Ron (Gladys), Joe (Gisele), Marilyn (Gerhard) and Charlene (Brian). His 14 grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and numerous family and friends further cherish Leo’s memory. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lord for his dedicated on-going professional care and the nursing staff on unit 4Y at the Edmonton General Continuing Care Centre for all their support and compassionate care. A Prayer Service will be held on Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, 12810–111 Avenue, Edmonton where the Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m.. CLAUSEN, George Carliss

On Friday, August 13, 2010, George Clausen of Devon passed away at the age of 69 years.

George is survived by his loving spouse Kay; four stepchildren, grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one brother; Bob (Judi), and numerous relatives and friends.

George was predeceased by his parents; George and Ellen and two sisters; Cora and Ilene.

KENNEDY, John (Tom)

On Friday, August 13, 2010 Mr. John (Tom) Kennedy passed away at the age of 80 years. He leaves his wife of 57 years; Anne, four daughters; Sharon, Debie (Peter), Laura (Ron), Dianne (Jerry), one son; Tom (Debbie), 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by one brother; Eric Kennedy, and one sister, Helen Hehn. A Service will take place on Wednesday, August 18th , 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hope Mission.

Albert Fredrick Hansen

On August 12, 2010, Albert Hansen, 94 years of age, of Edmonton was called home to be with the Lord. Albert was predeceased by his wife Christel on May 13, 2000. He is lovingly remembered by his four children; Ralph (Barbara), Marlene (Lionel) Neveu, Harvey (Susan) and Al (Marg); nine grandchildren. Albert is survived by his three sisters; Hilda Rilling, Lydia McDonald, and Freida (Lewis) Jones and one brother Alfred (Ruby) Hansen. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Baptist Community Church, 9802–76 Avenue, Edmonton AB. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to the Zion Baptist Community Church Ministries.

MADDISON, Patsy (Pat) Marie (nee O’Hara)
November 20, 1944 — August 9, 2010

Pat, forever devoted and loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and Nurse peacefully passed away while surrounded by her family. Pat will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 43 years, John, and three children Jacquie (Mike) Kindrachuk, Rick (Joni) Maddison and Joey. Pat’s pride and joy were her grandchildren Evan, Ryan, Jack and Tess. Also left to cherish Pat’s memory are her mother, Martha O’Hara; her sisters, Maureen (Nick) Marcetta, Darlene (Dave) Bernhardsen, Shirley O’Hara, Linda (Robb) Douglas and Angie O’Hara; her brother, Dan (Joan) O’Hara and their families. Pat was predeceased by her father, Paul O’Hara; her brother Dale O’Hara; and forever remembered nephew Tyler Douglas. Pat, John and family have so many people to thank, of particular mention are Pat’s “special angels” Dr. Patocka and staff of the Devon Hospital, Doctors and staff at the Cross Cancer Clinic, and Unit 43 Palliative Care Unit of Grey Nuns Hospital. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at St. Maria Goretti Parish, 8 St. Clair Street, Devon. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Biermann, John Casper
October 16, 1926 – August 6, 2010

On August 6, 2010 John Biermann of Wetaskiwin, Alberta passed away with his loving family by his side.
John farmed for 37 years in the Dewberry area with his wife Virginia. He loved farming and taking care of his cattle. John played baseball and once his children got older he took over the task of coaching the boys and girls hockey teams.
John and Virginia retired from the farm in 1989. John kept himself busy with his vegetable garden. He loved to brag about his tomato plants. In the winter months ice fishing was one of John’s favorite pastimes.
The family has been left with many stories and many memories to cherish.
John will be greatly missed by his loving wife Virginia; his three sons Rod (Myrna) Biermann and family, Lorne (Deb) Biermann and family, Jonathan Biermann; two daughters Wendy (Blayne) Holzinger and family, and Leona (Jim) Anderson and family.
He will be greatly missed by all other relatives and friends.
The family of the late John Biermann would like to extend their heart-felt thank you to Dr. Dippenaar, Dr. Foda, and nurses at the Wetaskiwin hospital and the Wetaskiwin homecare.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, August 12, 2010 at Wetaskiwin Memorial Cemetery, Wetaskiwin, AB.

JENSEN, Sonja Rigmor
April 16, 1926 — July 2, 2010

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Sonja. She is survived by her children: Eric (Diana) Jensen and Annette Jensen; six grandchildren: Tracy (John) Collins, Tony (Nancy) Jensen, Andrew (Sabine) Jensen, Michael Laverdiere, Marcie Sonja (Walter) Pringle; and eleven great-grandchildren. Sonja is predeceased by her husband Borge and granddaughter Michelle Dawn Laverdiere. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. at Ansgar Lutheran Church, 9554– 108 A Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Hinkel, Elizabeth

Elizabeth Hinkel was called home by her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 29, 2010. She leaves to be remembered by sisters-in-law, Irene Hinkel and Adelina Hinkel, all of her nieces and nephews and many friends. She was predeceased by brothers Conrad, Henry (Elizabeth), George (Christina) and William. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints. We will be meeting you in the bye and bye. Funeral Services will be held at Hope Christian Reformed Church on Tuesday, August 3rd at 2:00 p.m., Reverend Melie Pool officiating. BRADSHAW, Mart (Martha Isabel) (nee Storms)
October 26, 1906 — September 27, 2010

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Mart Bradshaw. Mart died peacefully in her sleep on September 27, 2010. Her husband Jack, her son Lorne, her siblings Lorne Storms, Mary Rice and Ruth DeWitt, her brothers-in-law Dwight Rice and Bert DeWitt, as well as many friends and relatives, predeceased Mart. She is mourned by her daughter LaVerne Hawkins, her granddaughter Wendy Hawkins, her grandson and granddaughter-in-law Greg and Lana Hawkins and her four great-grandchildren, Ava, Scott, Mia, and Georgia; as well as her sister-in-law Evelyn Storms. Mart’s nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends also mourn her passing. Mart had a wonderful sense of humour. She had a great interest in other people and was an important member of her community and her church. She taught school for many years in a number of rural communities and helped many children discover the value of learning. She lived a full and active life enjoying many activities including travel, music, flowers, reading, crosswords, and visiting. Her honesty, strength, beauty, and dedication are a profound legacy. We would like to thank the staff of the third floor at Hardisty Care Centre in Edmonton, AB for all their care. We would also like to thank the many people who visited and phoned Mart during her time at Hardisty. KWIATKOWSKA, Mieczyslawa

Mieczyslawa is survived by her son Marian (Marianna) Kwiatkowski, her daughters Janina (Marek) Plaza, and Elzbieta (Krzysztof) Czuprynski; twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Mieczyslawa is predeceased by her husband Eugeniusz on September 23, 2009, her daughter Jadwiga Kozel who passed away on June 17, 2009 and Maria Kwiatkowska who passed away November 1948. Prayers will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Pizzey, George
November 15, 1944 – September 27, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father George Pizzey of Warburg, AB, at the age of 65. George passed peacefully at the St.Joseph’s Hospice in Edmonton, AB with his family by his side. He was one of 10 children born to the late Edwin and Lily Pizzey. George was predeceased by siblings Billy, Larry, Doreen, Ted and Joan. George will be forever remembered by his beloved children Trevor, Jason (Lenore) and Veronica (Ryan), his treasured grandchildren Shania, Lauren, Tyler, and Jennifer, his devoted sibling’s Bob, Peggy, Winnie and Linda, along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him. As per George’s wishes there will be no funeral service, but a celebration of life will be held for family and close friends at a date to be later announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time.

Evan passed away suddenly on Friday September 24, 2010. Left to mourn his loss are his brothers: Ryan, Chad, stepbrother Blair, stepmother Leona (Nick) Lapierre, Kelowna, BC, his grandparents Ray, Rita Boyer of Grande Prairie, AB, Harry, Agnes Miseck of Spruce Grove, AB, niece Nicole, nephew Austin of London, Ontario. Also survived by his loving girlfriend Sabrina Etherington and best friend Reed Murphy, uncles: Doug (Judy) of Peace River, AB, Arne (Kim), Ted of Edmonton; aunts: Terryl, Maxine, Lorie (Terry) of Edmonton; cousins: Tina, Jodi, Luke, Kirsten, Sarah, Jesse, Maeve, Emily, Travis, Tammy and Josh. Evan was predeceased by his mother and father Betty and Eldon Boyer, aunt Sheila Salter, uncle Richard Ringuette, brother Tyler Boyer. Evan was a special person with a warm and loving heart and a wonderful sense of humor; we shall miss him greatly. A visitation will be held for anyone who wishes to attend on Thursday, September 30, 2010 between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton, AB. MAGNUSON, Shirley

Shirley Magnuson of Edmonton passed away on September 21, 2010 at the age of 69, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving mother Katherine (Kay) Ragan, aunt Nora Loughlean of Vegreville, cousins Dennis, Roy (Sophie), Michael (Cathy) Loughlean, Valerie (Stan) Carr, and her good friend Chris Bezovie. Shirley was predeceased by her uncle Larry Loughlean, and her grandmother Elizabeth Semenuk. Shirley enjoyed her working years with the Edmonton Public Library, and was passionate about her work. A picture of City Hall signed by the mayor, an appreciation of her 42 years of service, was proudly displayed. She loved her sports teams, the Oilers and Eskimos, and would often be found glued to the TV set when her teams were playing. She loved puppies, word puzzles and scratch tickets. Cremation has taken place and at Shirley’s request no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Research or Edmonton Public Library.
