KALYNCHUK, Mary

With great fondness we remember Mary and her kind and gentle soul. Her caring and loving presence will be missed, but she will continue to live on in all of our smiles and hearts. On Saturday, February 19, 2011, after quietly battling with MS for forty years, God suddenly called her to join him. She now joyfully sits alongside her earlier departed husband Andrew and brothers John and Eugene Sheyka. Smiling up at Mary today are her four daughters: Patricia Mattson (Tim), Alexandra Cimenti (George), Andrea Andrich (Patrick), Barbara Andrich (Russ); five grandchildren: Tony, Eric, Alina, Kalyn, Jacob; siblings: Ernie Sheyka (Alina), Lisa Anthony and Leona Hackman and many dear extended family members and friends. A Celebration of Life will be held at Richmond Park Church 9340 — 69 Avenue, Edmonton, AB on Saturday February 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, memorial tributes can be made to the charity of your choice. PHILLIPS, THERESE “TERRY”

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Therese “Terry” Phillips at the Grey Nuns Hospital, Edmonton, on February 16th, 2011.
She is survived by her two sons, Bryan and Robin (Donna); two grandchildren, Kristi (Tyler) Phinney and Graeme.
Terry was predeceased by the love of her life, Ronald; her parents, as well as her brothers and sisters.
A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, February 25th, 2011 at 2 p.m. at St. Agnes Roman Catholic Church, 10826 62 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB., with Father Paul Moret officiating. Interment to follow in the Spring at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Lesage, Eliette (Ellie)

On February 14, 2011 Eliette (Ellie) Lesage passed away peacefully at the age of 62. Ellie is survived by her daughter Lisa, and her children Jamie and Tyler. Her son Craig, his wife Nancy, and their daughter Tali. Her daughter Lorie, her husband Doug, and their sons Jacob and Benjamin. Her son Daniel and fiance Mereda. As well as her brothers Gilbert, Raymond, Denis and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Memorial service will be held at Millwoods Pentecostal Assembly on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ellie’s name to Grey Nuns Hospital.
Berube, Michel Camille

It is with great sadness that the family of Michel Berube, formerly of Beaumont, announces his passing following a long illness, at the age of 79 years, on February 14th, 2011. He is survived by one daughter and six sons; Bernadette (Roger) Labonte of Morinville, Camille (Jo-Anne), Mathias (Yvette), David (Carol), Gilles (Kim), Michel (Paulette), all of Beaumont, and Bernard of Drayton Valley, and also 22 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his sisters; Alma Johansson, Madeleine (Ghislain) Sasseville, Juliette (Gerard) Belanger and sister-in-law Madeleine Berube. Michel was predeceased by his wife Juliette, two grandchildren, Micheline and Caroline, his parents, Marie-Louis and Marie-Anne Berube, three brothers and three sisters. Special thanks to Dr. Andruchow and the staff at the Allen Gray Continuing Care Centre for their professional care and support for Dad during the last three years. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 19th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Vital Catholic Church in Beaumont. Celebrant will be Father Francis Folleh. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. BELLAMY, Carissa Dawn Marie

Born May 10, 1980 passed away February 12, 2011 Carissa battled chronic problems related to a brain tumor at age seven which returned at age eleven. Long time use of steroid and hormone medication (Hypo-pituitary) complicated each bout with any virus or infection she suffered. On the evening before she died an undetermined illness led to heart failure. Carissa was admired by many for her empathy towards all who suffered illness or pain in any way. She always had a warm smile even when she was not feeling well herself. She was always quick to describe the Kingdom Blessings soon to be enjoyed as promised in God’s Word the Bible. She is survived by her father Jack Bellamy, sisters Jamie and Meaghan, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Carissa was predeceased by her mother Betty-Jane Bellamy (Died 1994 when Carissa was thirteen years old). A Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 19th, 2011 at the Spruce Grove Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses (3 km South of Zender Ford on Golden Spike Road, then 1/2 km West on Township Road 524, Highway 62).

Baker, Keith Albert

On February 15, 2011 Keith Albert Baker of Tomahawk, Alberta passed away at the age of 69 years. Keith is survived by his loving wife Peggy of 45 years; his children, Michele (Perry), Terri (Simon), Charlene (Trevor) and David; twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a nephew Rick Baker. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2011 at Tomahawk Lutheran Church at 1:00 p.m., Tomahawk, Alberta with Pastor Dan Barr officiating.

Albrecht, Christa

On February 13, 2011, Christa Albrecht of Sherwood Park passed away at the age of 72. She will be dearly missed by her loving husband Wally; son Markus (Christine), daughter Angelica (Tim) Revega, her four grandchildren and extended family and friends. JOHNSTON, John Henry SGT CD
February 26, 1922 — March 2, 2011

John Johnston passed away in the early hours of March 2, 2011 at the age of 89. He leaves to mourn Lisa, his loving wife of 13 years, sister Georgina Smith of Calgary and her children. He will be fondly remembered by his adopted families, Lisa’s children, Doug (Karin) and Rosanna (Ken) and grandchildren Alyx, Alissa, Deanna, Erik, Matthew, Katrina, and Simon. He was predeceased by his first wife Hazel, and sister Louise. Special thanks and recognition to his wonderful caregivers, Nothandio, Vergie, and Estrella at the Dr. Gerald Zetter Care Centre. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 10014 — 81 Avenue, Edmonton at 11:00 a.m. Lunch will follow immediately after service. Those wishing to attend the internment can join the family at the gravesite following lunch. The family requests that instead of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of choice.

Nimilowich, Nick James
August 6, 1949 — February 26, 2011

On Saturday, February 26, 2011, Nick James Nimilowich of Edmonton, passed away at the age of 61 years. Nick will be missed and forever remembered by his loving wife, Audrey; his children: Sherry (Shaun), Michael, Shelly (Attila), Matthew (Julia), Sarah (Scott), and Sheila; his grandchildren: Caitlin, Cole, Dylan and Aidan; his mother, Mary; his brother, Henry (Lynda); as well as numerous family and friends. He was predeceased by his father, James. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Richmond Park Church (9340 — 69 Avenue, Edmonton). Public Viewing from 1:00 to 2:00 pm. Luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta.

Uzymirski, Konstanty (Kon)

Peacefully, on March 1, 2011 Kon Uzymirski was called Home to be with his Saviour and Lord. He was 92 years of age. Kon will be lovingly remembered by his wife of nearly 60 years Martha, four children: George (Marie) Uzymirski of Florida, Christine Krusch of Edmonton, Lillian (Wilf) Hildebrandt of Abbotsford, B.C. and Daniel Uzymirski of Delta B.C., six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Kon was predeceased by his son-in-law Reverend Herb Krusch in November 2010. A visitation will be held on Sunday, March 6, 2011 between 3:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311 — 91 Street. Kon will be laid to rest at South Haven Cemetery on Monday, March 7, 2011 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Kon’s Life at Southside Pentecostal Assembly, 2821 — 109 Street, commencing at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Garry Rohr officiating. Wudel, Edward J.

Edward passed away on February 27, 2011 at the age of 97. He is survived by his sisters; Alma Bablitz, Clara Zwick and Meta (Ben) Adam; one brother Walter (Eleanor); sister-in-law Agnes Wudel, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Emil, Ernest, Samuel and Wilbert. Until recently he lived at Shepherd’s Care Greenfield where he received excellent and loving care. A Memorial Service will be held in the spring. YUZWENKO, Della Marie (nee Connaughty)
October 13, 1930 — March 1, 2011

It is with a deep sadness that the family of Della Yuzwenko announces her sudden passing at 80 years of age. Della will be remembered for her love of life, her love of her family and friends, her sense of humour and caring and giving ways with others. She was much loved and well respected and will be sorely missed. Her last few years have been spent in the care of St Michael’s Nursing home battling dementia. Della was pre-deceased by her husband William (Bill) in 2003. Della will be remembered by her daughter Judy (Elmer) Meade, grandchildren Jaret Meade, Jason (Kristy) Meade. Her son Michael (Patricia) White and grandchildren Brendan and Caitlin White. As well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. June 30, 1950 — February 25, 2011

With sad hearts we regret to announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and dear friend. GREGOIRE, Irene Elizabeth Roberge

After battling Stage IV Breast Cancer, Irene: Wife, Mother, Sister, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Friend, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 26th, 2011 at the Cross Cancer Institute. Irene will be dearly missed by her loving husband Aurele of 55 years; her four children: Bryan (Virginia), Elaine (Roman), Sheryl and Barry (Gisele); her eight grandchildren: Hailey, Darren, Nina, Laura, Tasha, Aidan, Brett and Aaron and two great-grandchildren: Sebastian and Jason. She will also be remembered by her brothers Maurice and Danny and her sister Linda, as well as many friends and relatives. She was predeceased by her sisters Wilma and Madonne and brothers Victor and David. GOODFELLOW, Eileen (nee Aylesworth)

On March 1, 2011 Eileen Goodfellow passed away at the age of 66 years. Eileen was born April 21, 1944 in Bonnyville, AB. She was the daughter of Ida and Leland Aylesworth of Rife, AB. Eileen began her career as a telephone operator for AGT in St. Paul, AB, until she met and married Richard Goodfellow in 1965. Now being part of an Air Force family Eileen moved from Cold Lake, AB to Trenton, ON, and finally landed in Edmonton, AB. Eileen studied at Grant MacEwan to become a Library Technician and had a successful career in many of Edmonton’s libraries until retiring from the Concordia University College Library. Eileen was an avid painter and loved to spend her free time creating beautiful pieces of artwork which are adored by many. She was the member of the U of A dance club and all Saints Lutheran Church. Eileen is survived by her loving husband Richard; daughters, Elana, Crystal; her mother Ida Aylesworth; sister Jean Chaput; brother Louis (Fran) Aylesworth, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m., at Bethel Lutheran Church, 298 Bethel Drive, Sherwood Park, with Pastor Matt Ziprick officiating. JOHNSTON, Patrick William

During an amazing vacation with his wife and daughters in Israel, Patrick Johnston of Sherwood Park passed away at the age of 72 at the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. Pat is survived by his wife, Violet; two daughters, Shanan (Russ) Clark of Edmonton, and Dawn (Joseph) Madden of Winnipeg; eight grandchildren, Danielle, Kathryn, Joanna, Kevin, Chloe, Stephen, Denae, and Jocelyn. Pat was predeceased by his son, Dennis, in 1973. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at Fellowship Baptist Church (14323 — 107A Avenue, Edmonton). DAWE, Ada Lela “Lee” (nee Moore)
July 26, 1926 — February 27, 2011

After a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s, Lee passed away peacefully at the age of 84 years. Lee is survived by her loving family: devoted husband of 65 years, Bill; two children: Bonnie Durrant and her husband Doug, and Bill and his wife Jill; loving grandchildren, Amanda Nicholson (Curtis), Ashley Jewers (Shawn), Kyle (Kate); six great-grandchildren, Cate, Luke and Jane Nicholson, and Cole, Blake, and Gage Jewers; and her only surviving sister, Gail Kuzmack. Lee enjoyed many years working in the medical department at Imperial Oil Limited. She was an active member in the IODE. Bill and Lee enjoyed 40 years as members of Windermere Golf and Country Club, and during this time, shared many golf vacations with friends. Entertaining was her passion. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Devonshire Care Centre for the care given to Lee during her four year stay and for their support to the family members. At Lee’s request, no funeral service will be held; cremation has taken place. A family celebration of Lee’s life will be held at a later date. ZUBER, Dianne Kathryn

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts, that our family announces the passing of our beloved sister, aunty, and daughter, Dianne. Dianne was born in Athabasca, Alberta on February 25, 1952 being the first baby born in the newly built hospital. Dianne leaves to mourn, her mother Jean Zukowsky (nee Strumelak), her three sisters; Gladys (Alex) Hula of Agassiz, BC, Grace (Warren) Predy of Sherwood Park, AB and Wendy Komick of Edmonton, AB as well as her loving nieces, nephews and great-niece. Dianne was predeceased by her father Peter Zuber, and brother-in-law Danny Komick. After a long battle with kidney failure as well as many other health issues, Dianne succumbed to her failing system, on February 28, 2011. Special thank you for the kind, loving care by the staff of unit 5A6, A7 and A8 at the Mazankowski Heart Institute as well as all the staff in dialysis at Grey Nuns, General and U of A hospitals that have looked after her all these years. Our family would also like to gratefully acknowledge the caregivers at Allen Gray Continuing Care, her home for the past 10 years. Your care for Dianne was exceptional and in the end you were very much her family too. Dianne’s spirit and sweet personality will be remembered by us all. A Celebration of Dianne’s Life will take place at Woodvale Community Center, 4540A — 50 Street (Mill Woods Golf Course) Thursday, March 3, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alberta Kidney Foundation.

NELSON, Annie Ethel
June 12, 1922 — February 25, 2011

Annie Nelson of Wetaskiwin, AB, formerly of Meeting Creek, AB, went peacefully to her heavenly reward at the age of 88 years on February 25, 2011. Annie is survived by her loving family; son, Lorne (Eunice) Nelson; daughter Anne McGoran; six grandchildren, Michael (Lisa), Matthew (Jeramie-Lee), Sarah (Tyson), Jeremy (Marianne), Joel and Mason; seven great-grandchildren, Linnea, Everitt, Anna, Callie-Jo, Danika, Easton and Meegan; and sisters Dorothy Stark and Elinor (Don) Hudson. Annie was predeceased by her parents; loving husband, Evald; and sister. Memorial service will be held at Malmo Mission Covenant Church, southeast of Wetaskiwin (780–352-2721), Saturday, March 5, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Randall Friesen officiating. Private interment will take place prior to the service at the church cemetery. Hein, Mary Anne
April 3, 1948 — February 23, 2011

On February 23, 2011 Mary Hein of Edmonton passed away. Mary is survived by her husband Stan; two children: Darren and Leanne Hein; sister Agnes (Harvey) Hickey; brothers: John (Viv) and Ken (Adele) Mortenson; mother-in-law Selma Hein and extended family. She is predeceased by her parents as well as her sister Irene Stewart. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 Princess Elizabeth Avenue. NEILSON, Aubrey Ivan

On February 26, 2011, Aubrey Neilson passed away peacefully after a brief illness. Aubrey will be greatly missed by his family, three children: Patricia (John) Taylor, Wade, Ken (Katherine), daughter-in-law Birgit (Peter) Wujcik; nine grandchildren: Jonathan, Brandon, Dylan, Cathleen, Dwight, Austin, Christopher, Daniel and Rebecca as well as numerous relatives and friends. Predeceased by his eldest son Paul in 1990 and his wife of 51 years Verna in 2010. He is survived by his wife Susan of 35 years; three children, Deanne Anderson (Vincent Chartier), Darren Anderson and Darryl Anderson; granddaughter, Savanna Rose Chartier; two brothers, Dick (Sylvia) Anderson of Parksville, British Columbia and Dave Anderson of Maple Ridge, British Columbia; one sister Rene (Larry) Ranger of North Vancouver, British Columbia; mother-in-law Olga Polo of Saskatoon as well as aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Terry was predeceased by his parents Margaret and George, sister-in-law Vickie and father-in-law Andrew Polo.
