LINDBERG, Adeline
1922 — 2012

On July 16, 2012 Adeline Lindberg, our precious mom, gramma and great-gramma passed away peacefully at the age of 89.
She will be forever missed by her three daughters: Joyce (Oscar) Fisch, Betty (Dave) Brooksher, Shannon (Bob) Gutscher; seven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. Adeline was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 1978. She was also predeceased by her four sisters and three brothers.
The Memorial Service will be held on July 21, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. at Richmond Park Church (9340 — 69 Avenue, Edmonton).

HUNTER, Betty Aileen
1926 — 2012

On July 18, 2012, Mrs. Betty Aileen Hunter of Edmonton, Alberta passed away at the age of 86 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Betty is survived by her loving husband, Russell; four sons: Donald (Carol), Glen (Sue), Craig, Ken (Karen); nine grandchildren: Kyle, Greg, Gord, Brian, Lindsay, April, Lori, Bryce, Brent (predeceased); and several great– grandchildren.
A Celebration of Betty’s life will be held on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Braemar Baptist Church, 7407 – 98 Avenue, Edmonton. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Edmonton.

LANDERS, Kenneth Gerald

On July 17, 2012 Kenneth (Ken) Landers passed away at the age of 78 years.
He leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory his wife Phyllis, daughter Lisa (Brian) Hogg of Calgary, son Gerald (Laurie) Landers of Drayton Valley, five grandchildren, Danielle, Brandy, Colton, Shauntelle and Makenna, two great-grandchildren Chance and Kaythen, two brothers, Robert of Drayton Valley and Donald of Edmonton, two sisters, Ellen (Bob) Bolsover of Scarborough, Ontario and Audrey Grieb of Drayton Valley as well as numerous friends and relatives.
Ken was predeceased by his parents, Bob and Grace Landers and brother-in-law Gerry Grieb.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Life Church, Drayton Valley with Pastor Randy Rye officiating and cremation to follow.

COMBS, Garth “Lane”

On July 18th, 2012 Garth Lane Combs of Drayton Valley passed away suddenly at the age of 51 years.
He leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory his children Miranda Lynn and Jessie of Rocky Rapids, mother Nona Combs of Rocky Rapids, six brothers; Autry, Rufus, Mervin, Bruce, Keith and Darren, seven sisters; Twyla, Merna, Lona Mae, Fern, Carrie, Karla and Paula, as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Lane was predeceased by his father Ervin, brothers Orvin and Ervin and sister Sarah.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, July 23, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. at the Church of God in Drayton Valley with Pastor Stephen Westhaver officiating and interment followed at the Rocky Rapids Cemetery.

CEBULIAK, George John

On July 19th, Mr. George Cebuliak of Drayton Valley passed away peacefully at the age of 86 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his wife Cecele, three daughters; Carol Marion (Jerry Kelly),
Janice Cebuliak and Mary Lou (Perry) May, son David (Ella) Cebuliak, nine grandchildren; Kara, Andrew, Tyler, Gabrielle, Dominic, Jenna, Michele, Alena and Jorja, two brothers, two sisters as well as numerous relatives and friends.
George was predeceased by his son Robbie, parents Rose and John Cebuliak, brother Mike and sister Olga.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 25th at 11:00 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Drayton Valley with Father Christian Nwaigwe officiating and interment to follow at Riverview Cemetery.

VALENTINE, Gary Eugene

On July 17, 2012 Gary passed away suddenly at the age of 69 years.
Lovingly remembered by his daughter Nicole (Peter) Verhagen; two grandchildren: Allan and Candace; friend Lois Valentine; sister Norma (Sandy) Latimer, three brothers: Floyd (Janet) Valentine, Lawrence (Luise) Valentine, Walter (Krista) Emsley, as well as many relatives and friends. Predeceased by his parents: Alberta Emsley and Lyle Valentine, brothers: Jim, Wayne and Clifford.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.

LALONDE, Sheila Mary (née Cassidy)
1928 — 2012

Sheila was born in Montréal and raised in Calgary and Black Diamond, Alberta. After completing senior high school she entered the religious community of the Faithful Companions of Jesus (Mother Mary Kevin fcj); during that time she completed her bachelor of Science degree at the University of Alberta and taught high school chemistry for many years at St. Joseph High school in Edmonton. In 1967 Sheila left the religious life and continued to teach at St. Joe’s where she remained until she retired in 1992. She was highly respected by students and colleagues for her knowledge, wit and teaching skills.
Sheila was active in her parish and school communities motivated at all times by her deep faith in God. Two years ago, she was diagnosed with cancer, and on Sunday, April 1, 2012 was called home to the loving arms of Jesus, her Lord and Saviour.
She is survived by her sister Rita Andrews of Calgary; as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friend Mary Jane Pomerleau.
Sheila was predeceased by her parents Joe and Elizabeth Cassidy; her sisters Loretta Bagnall and Leone Smith; her brothers Ivor, Hugh, Kevin and Donald Cassidy; and her husband Norman Lalonde.
A prayer service will be held on Tuesday April 3, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel 10129 — Princess Elizabeth Avenue Edmonton, AB.
A mass of resurrection will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 13503 — 40 Street, Edmonton, AB. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice.

JENNINGS, Allan Herbert

With heavy hearts, the family of Allan Herbert Jennings wishes to announce his sudden passing on March 27, 2012 after a brief illness at 78 years of age.
He is survived by his loving wife Patricia (nee Serbu), daughter Cathy (Simon) Zandbergen, sons Kevin (Anne) and John (Lori), five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Church, 20 Green Grove Dr. St Albert, AB.
A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at the Edmonton General Care Centre Unit 9Y for their wonderful and exceptional care provided for Allan.

HAMILTON, Carol Mae

On March 28, 2012 Carol Hamilton passed away after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 66 years.
Carol was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. She treasured every moment with her grandsons and savoured every milestone she was able to share with them. She cherished her many friendships and felt blessed with the love and support of friends especially Carol and Heather. She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her sons: Greg (Kirsten), Doug (Sandra); two grandsons: Gage and Cooper; sisters: Ruth (Don), Ellie (Ken), sister-in-law Janet (Gerry) and brother-in-law Byran (Bertie), as well as many relatives and friends. Predeceased by her husband Jim in 1999, parents Patricia and Allan and brother David.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service North Chapel, 10129 — Princess Elizabeth Avenue, Edmonton, AB.

SYMONDS, Elaine Barbara
December 5, 1949 — July 16, 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine on July 16 at the Grey Nuns Hospital after a courageous battle with Crohn’s disease. Elaine will truly be missed by her family, longtime friends and everyone who knew her. Oh we will miss you!
Elaine was born in Edmonton December 5, 1949 to Barbara and Rudolf Hoffman, spent her early years growing up in the Allendale area in south Edmonton and attended Strathcona Composite High School. After high school Elaine and Gerry were married lived in the Allendale community and later moved to the Duggan area in south Edmonton. They raised two boys, Carey and Jayme in Duggan and after the boys left home moved out to Sherwood Park to enjoy retirement. Elaine did love to travel and spent as much time snowbirding in Arizona and California as possible. In her earlier years skiing was a passion but golf and warmer climates soon took over. Travelling south to Osoyoos for the summer, then down to Arizona and California for the winters was what she loved.
Elaine will be remembered with all our love by husband of 45 years, Gerry; her sons: Carey (Jodie) and Jayme (Lisa); sister Nellie (Gus) Vollob and family; brother Rudy (Chris) Hoffman and family; sister-in-law Joy (Mervin) Suppes and family; brother-in-law Daniel (Zena) Symonds and family; Elaine’s longtime childhood friend Bonnie Graham; high school friends: Karen Birkholz and Nickie DeCoursey and her good friends from Osoyoos; she had so many friends. Elaine was predeceased by her sister Erna O’Neil, mother Barbara Hoffman and father Rudolf Hoffman.
Relatives and friends may pay their respects on Friday, July 20, 2012 between 10:00 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 10014 — 81 Avenue, Edmonton. Interment will take place at Glenwood Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada or a charity of one’s choice.

STEVENSON, Patricia

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia (Pat) Stevenson (nee Sullivan) on July 13, 2012 at the age of 82. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter, Laura Ann (Tim), two grandchildren, Tyler and Jody Talon, as well as many friends and relatives. Pat is predeceased by her husband Orville in 2007.
She was a special lady and enjoyed volunteering for many different organizations and events. A guiding light has left us to become a bright star in the heavens.
A Celebration of Pat’s life will be held on Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at Ritchie United Church (9624 – 74 Avenue, Edmonton). Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ritchie United Church.

PROCKTOR, Larry
April 9, 1930 — July 10, 2012

On July 10, 2012, at the age of 82, Larry passed away from lymphoma. To the very end, Larry remained upbeat and never lost his wonderful sense of humour or his impeccable manners.
Left to treasure many wonderful memories are his wife of 53 years Bev and their four children: daughter Carmen (Stu) Chase, Christopher (Brittany), Jamie, Teanna; daughter Pam (Brad) Stevens, Brendan, Justine; daughter Terri (Mike) Spinney, Victoria, Teale, Jace; and favourite son Jay (Alex). Larry’s grandkids will miss seeing grandpa at their numerous sporting events. Larry was blessed to meet his first great grandchild Talia Chase who arrived early because she couldn’t wait to meet her great grandpa.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sangha and his caring team at the Cross, Nikki Noon, ER nurse extraordinaire and the amazing palliative care team at St. Joseph’s.
A celebration of Larry’s life will be held at Sherwood Park United Church, 20 Fir Street, on Monday July 16, 2012 at 1:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Liz. Donations in Larry’s memory can be made to St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital Foundation-Palliative, 10707 — 29 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T6J 6W1.

ADAM, Ben (N. Bernard)
July 15, 1924 — June 7, 2012

Ben Adam, age 87, died peacefully on June 7, 2012.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Meta (nee Wudel); two daughters: Joan (Ron) Danderfer, Linda (Brian) Clark; grandchildren: Gregg (Sherie) Danderfer, Kimberley Danderfer, Samantha Clark; great– grandson Nolan Danderfer; sister Elinor (Eddie) Klapstein; brothers-in-law: Bill Brumbalow, Walter (Eleanor) Wudel; sisters– in-law: Alma Bablitz, Clara Zwick, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Bernard, birth mother Alma Henkleman, mother Lydia Stockman; brothers: Edwin (Anne), and Gordon.
A special mention of his good friends at Ashbourne Manor and the Edmonton and Heimtal Moravian Churches. Thank you to Reverend Matt Gillard of Heimtal Moravian Church, the Neurology Unit of the University of Alberta Hospital and the Palliative Unit of St. Joseph’s Auxiliary Hospital.

ROY, Clinton

It is with profound sadness the family of Clinton Roy of Drayton Valley announce his sudden passing on July 15 at the age of 30 years.
Clinton leaves to mourn his loss and cherish his memory, his mother Laureen and step-father Greg Bobrownik, two sons, Abele and Bowden, step-son Lexx, four brothers, three sisters, Grandma Florence, Grandma Elsie, Grandpa Ronald (Jane), grandparents Mike and Marion Bobrownik, as well as numerous friends and family.
Clinton was predeceased by his father Darwin Roy and grandfather Albert.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Life Church, Drayton Valley with Pastor Randy Rye officiating and cremation to follow.
