CARLSEN, Evalon

Evalon Carlsen, of Beaumont, passed away peacefully at the Devon Hospital on Sunday, July 15, 2012, at the age of 88 years.
Evalon is survived by her sons Randie (Maureen) and Wade, and daughter Judy (Terry) Colby, granddaughter Shannon, great-grandchildren Timothy and Cody and sister Rose Strynadka.
She was predeceased by her parents Andrew and Maria, her husband Lance, and brothers John and Mike.
A private family celebration of Evalon’s life will take place at a future time.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Devon General Hospital, 101 Erie Street South, Devon, AB T9G 1A6; or the Alzheimer Society of Alberta, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5H 4K1.

MITCHELL, Paul Donovan

On Monday, July 2, 2012 Paul Mitchell of Edmonton passed away at the age of 36 years.
Paul is survived by his loving family; mother Margaret; brothers: Darryl (Nicole), Darren; nephews: Ryan, Brayden; niece Taylor, and numerous relatives and friends. Paul was predeceased by his father Benjamin.
A Celebration of Paul’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2012 in the Fireside Room at Mill Woods Assembly, 2225–66 Street, Edmonton.

McGRATH, Thomas Ernest
August 18, 1934 – July 9, 2012

On July 9, 2012 Ernie of Fort Saskatchewan, AB passed away peacefully at the age of 77 years. Ernie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dawna; three sons, Vaughn, Greg (Janice), Murray (Caroline); nine grandchildren Mark (Pam), Alleece, Jarred, Matthew, Chelsey, Marie-Helene, Chantal, Valerie, Wyatt, and one great-grandchild Gavin. He is survived by sisters, Charlotte (Harry Giddings) and Mary Hannah. Ernie is predeceased by his parents, Tim and Kathleen; three brothers, Bill, Clarence and Ed; two sisters, Anne and Tina.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, July 13th at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of The Angels Catholic Church, 10004 — 101 Street, Fort Saskatchewan, AB. Interment will be at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, Edmonton, AB.
Donations can be made to the Rivercrest Lodge Nursing Home or a charity of your choice. Gordon and Cindy Kadatz directors in care of arrangements.

CARTMELL, Theresa
1976 — 2012

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Anne Cartmell of Edmonton, at the age of 36 years.
She will be greatly missed by her parents Jim and Susan Cartmell; sisters: Christine Deloy, Kathleen Cartmell, Jennifer (James) Benkie; nieces: Samantha, Ruth and Jesse; her good friend Michael Lenner and his daughter Teagan, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A celebration of Theresa’s life will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Church on 99th, 9908–67 Avenue Edmonton, AB at 10:00 a.m.

ZENKO, Darren Robert Frank

A brilliant and creative mind left this world on July 4, 2012 at the age of 39 years.
Darren will be lovingly remembered in the hearts of his parents: Frank and Jody; brother and sister-in-law JP and Adrienne; adoring niblings: nephew Easton; niece Jaya; Godparents; Aunty Pam and Cousin Craig; many loving and supportive aunts, uncles and cousins of the Meyer and Zenko clans; wife Ali Riley and a host of great friends.
Darren was a Freelance Writer and Gaming Critic. Darren loved to travel, especially to Japan, Ireland, and to country music festivals. He loved politics, hosted CJSR radio shows Destination Venus and War during Peace, he was also a DJ for clubs and private events and has had four books published.
Darren will be greeted by both sets of loving Grandparents.
A Celebration Of Life will be held on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at St. John Bosco Parish, 13503 – 40 Street, Edmonton, AB.
Our heartfelt thanks to the staff of the Cross Cancer Institute and Station #43 of the Grey Nuns Hospital.

BROCHU, Muriel Anne

Muriel Anne Brochu (Hawley)
Born June 21, 1939
passed away on July 6, 2012 at Leduc Hospital

It is with great sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing of Muriel Brochu aged 73 years of Leduc, Alberta.

She is survived by her sons Rodney (Marie), Dwight (Nancy), Garry (Trudy), Russell (Michele); daughters Shirley (Mike) Stapleton and Jennifer; 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; brother Tom and sisters Margaret, Hilda Patsy (Keith), as well as numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.

She was predeceased by her husband Norman, parents Bert and Alice Hawley, brother Douglas, sisters Eleanor, Frances, Rose and Ada.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of her life will be held at St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in Arborfield, Saskatchewan with Fr. Jim Kaptein officiating.

If friends so desire, donations in memory of Muriel may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 200, 325 Manning Road NE, Calgary, AB T2E 9Z9.

SCHNEIDER, Bernice Elsie Juliann (Nee Hennig)

Bernice Schneider of Bruderheim‚ AB beloved wife of Victor for 61 years passed away peacefully July 5, 2012 at the age of 84 years after a long and brave battle with cancer.
She is survived by four children Brenda ( Bob Engler), Howard ( Wendy), Barbara(Mario Guidetti), Douglas (Delarie); 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, July 13, 2012 at Bethel Lutheran Church 298 Bethel Drive Sherwood Park, Alberta.
There will be a family committal service at a later date at the Fort Saskatchewan Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lamont Health Care Centre. Gordon and Cindy Kadatz directors in care of arrangements.

REIMER, Arthur Wesley

On Friday, July 6, 2012 Art Reimer of Edmonton, AB passed away at the age of 85 years.
Art is survived by his loving family; wife of 58 years Georgeann; five children: Chris (Sharon), Mary (Ron)
Paquin, Pat (Donna) Lorrie (Dean) Atkinson and Louise Reimer; six grandchildren: Michelle, Michael, Stephen, Billy Jo, Connor and Travis; great-grandchild Jack Van Doninck; three sisters: Evelyn Reimer, Theresa (Jack) Tewsley and Louise Urnes,
as well as other numerous relatives and friends. Art was predeceased by his son David and grandson Mark.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Providence Renewal Centre, 3005–119 Street NW, Edmonton, AB. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Hope Mission, P.O Box 953, Edmonton, AB T5J 2L8.

IDLAND, Ingjerd “Ginger“ (Nee: Hognestad)

On Thursday, July 5, 2012 Ingjerd Idland of Edmonton, AB passed away at the age of 88 years.
Ingjerd is survived by her loving family; daughters: Debra (Keith) Odegard and Karen (Orlin) Johansen; grandchildren: Ingrid, Kristen, Luther (Ivanna), Britt, Annika Odegard, Adam (Jamie), Hans (Bronwyn), Heidi, Marte Johansen; great-grandchild Avery Johansen; sister Molly (Ken) Njaa of Saskatoon, SK; brother-in-law Kory (Joanne) Idland of Red Deer, AB; sister-in-law Kitty (Sigurd) Folkvord of Sandnes, Norway and numerous nieces and nephews in both Canada and Norway. Ingjerd was predeceased by her husband Hans on November 7, 2011. Ingjerd was born in Bryne, Norway in 1924, and moved to Saskatchewan with her family in 1926. She married Hans in Edmonton in 1952 and except for two years in Calgary, has been a resident of Edmonton ever since.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2012 at Calvary Lutheran Church, 10815–76 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Interment will follow on Friday July 13, 2012 at Lake Park Cemetery in Birch Hills, SK. Memorial Donations may be made to the Hope Mission, P.O Box 953 Edmonton, AB T6J 2L8 or the charity of one’s choice.

MACNAB, David Brent
August 19, 1958 – July 4, 2012

Brent passed away peacefully in his sleep.
Missing him deeply are his daughter, Maggie; long time partner, Janet Maslyk; loving mother, Rose Marie Macnab; sister, Tana Farrell; and nephew, Jack. Brent was predeceased by his father, Samuel John “Jack” Macnab. He also leaves behind many good friends, cousins and relatives.
Brent was well known and respected in the music business in Edmonton and throughout Canada, having performed and recorded with a wide variety of musicians over his lifetime. He was a world class musician and was most alive when playing his guitar.
A musical Celebration of Brent’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Woodvale Community Facility, located at the Mill Woods Golf Course, 4540 — 50 Street, Edmonton. Please note that parking is limited. Guests are encouraged to carpool.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family are welcome to donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society in Brent’s name.

REID, Kenneth Gerald

It is with profound sorrow that the family of Ken Reid announce his passing on Thursday, July 5, 2012 in the Fort Saskatchewan Community Hospital.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife Loretta; son David, daughter-in-law Inga, grandchildren Ryan and Samantha; son James, daughter-in-law Michel, grandsons Jared and Michael; son Craig, daughter-in-law Sharon, granddaughter Elizabeth. Also brothers Bob (Lilian), Gordon (Ollie), Murray (Patsy), George. Also Greta Reid and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at 2:00 pm at St. Georges Anglican Church, 10029–99 Avenue, Fort Saskatchewan.
The Reid family wishes to thank Dr. Smylie at the Cross Institute, Dr. Stecyk at the Fort Hospital, the nurses from Home Care and Palliative Care Services. WADE, Thelma Marjorie Saunders
November 24, 1932 — June 18, 2012

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our Mother, Grandmother, Great– Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend.
She will be forever lovingly remembered by her cherished sons: Duane, Darren (Tammy). Grandchildren: Crystal, Renaye, Sarah, Mitchell, Adam, Shayna and Great-Grandchild Aidan. She will truly be missed.
Thelma was a woman of action and vision and loved nothing better than to be organizing and making things happen as she led by example. Born in Saint John, New Brunswick Thelma passed peacefully surrounded by her loving family.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at St. Augustine’s Parkland Anglican Church, 131 Church Road, Spruce Grove on Wednesday, July 4 at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes in Thelma’s honor may be directed to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

SCHIERHOLZ, Carole Mary (nee Gushta)
February 24, 1942 – July 3, 2012

On Tuesday, July 3, 2012, Carole passed away at the age of 70 years. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Kurt; children: Debbie (Fred), Jim (Shannon); grandchildren: Ashley, Jessica, Jennifer and Melissa.
Carole’s wishes were to have no formal services.

RUTTAN, Dale Edward

On Tuesday, June 26, 2012 Dale of the Gibbons area, passed away at the age of 53 years.
Left to cherish his many memories are his loving family, his wife Shelly of 25 years; children Gregory, Sarah and Becky; siblings Leslie (Bernie) Conrad, June Bourassa, also numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Dale was predeceased by his parents Lawrence and Violet.
Respecting his wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday July 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Gibbons, Alberta. If so desired memorial donations may be made to a Charity of Ones Choice. Gordon and Cindy Kadatz directors in care of arrangements.

McKAY, Sharon Mabel (neé Croft)

On June 24, 2012 at the age of 66, Sharon McKay (neé Croft) of Calmar, AB, passed away. She was predeceased by her husband Roy McKay.
She will be lovingly missed by her sons Bob (Wendy) Moger and Richard (Lyla) Moger;
her grandchildren Megan, Emily, Nathan,
and Nicholas; brothers Robert, Frank, Joe, and sister Marg.
