Rosgen -- Richard

On a very special day, May 19, 2003, my husband, our father, grandfather and great grandfather, Richard Rosgen was reunited with God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, in the loving embrace of our Blessed Virgin Mary. Born to Peter and Helena Rosgen on September 8, 1920 in Moscow, Idaho, he moved to the Munson community as a young child where he resided until his retirement in 1993, at which time he settled in Drumheller. He married Lenore Howard of Drumheller in 1946 and together they were blessed with nine children. They raised them on the family farm which was created with their love, prayers, determination and endless hard work with their children always at the centre of their focus. As a simple man devoted to his Catholic faith, he left the family with a legacy of prayer, devotion to God, humanitarianism and a deep understanding of the unlimited power of love. He said that one of the greatest achievements in his life was to raise all his children in the Catholic faith. For this gift we are humbled and eternally grateful. Dad excelled as an athlete, namely baseball and curling. He was involved in the Southern Alberta Sports Recreational Society - Zone 2; he was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus, where he held the position of Grand Knight for a number of years.
