WAYNE ROBERT KEMMET
2008
MR. WAYNE ROBERT KEMMET of Lethbridge, passed away suddenly at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Sunday, June 29, 2008 at the age of 54 years.
He is survived by his father Robert Kemmet of Lethbridge and sisters Linda (Larry) Nagy and family of Lethbridge and Lori (Stan) Wojtowicz and family of Lethbridge.
He was predeceased by his mother Arnie Kemmet.
A private family service will be held at a later date.
If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Schizophrenia Society of Alberta, 426 – 6th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2C9.

BLANCHE KEITH
2008

MRS. BLANCHE KEITH, beloved wife of Mr. Ronald Keith of Lethbridge, passed away at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton on Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the age of 82 years.
Blanche was the loving mother of her three children, Kevin (Patricia) and their children Lauren and Ally of Lethbridge, Sheryl (Barry) Eccleton and their children Daniel, Jeff, Nick and Andrew of Ladner, B.C. and Brian of Edmonton. She is also survived by her sister Stephanie (Art) Charlesworth of Lethbridge, brother Raymond Doren of Boyle, and brother-in-law George Mueller of Lethbridge.
She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and brother.
Blanche was born and raised in Southern Alberta. She moved from the family farm to Lethbridge in the early 1950’s, where she met and married Ron Keith, her husband of 53 years. She retired in 1990 after working with Eatons in Lethbridge for 30 years.
Blanche was an exceptional personality: she had such a positive outlook, and had such an abundance of love for her family, friends and life. She touched people with her warm personality; Blanche had a way of making people feel at ease in her presence. Life revolved around her family, she was so proud of all their accomplishments and some of her favorite memories were family holidays at Christina Lake, B.C. Nothing gave her more pleasure than to be involved in her grandchildren’s lives, watching ice skating, soccer, baseball and hockey.
Blanche will be most dearly missed by her family and friends.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 – 15th Avenue South, Lethbridge on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. with Reverend Cathy Coates officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Blanche’s name may be made to S.T.A.R.S., Box 570, 1441 Aviation Avenue Park N.E., Calgary, AB, T2E 8M7 or to the Special Olympics B.C, Delta Chapter, 4999-54th Street, Delta, B.C., V4K 4S8.

GORDON KROEKER
2008

GORDON KROEKER, beloved husband of Debbie Kroeker, passed away peacefully at the St. Michael’s Health Centre on Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at the age of 60 years.
Besides his loving wife Debbie, Gordon is survived by his daughter Darcy (Terry) Melusi, daughter Amanda (Sean) Mainzer and their children Brianna, Triston and Jada, son Vince (Tara) Kroeker and their children Shyana, Cloe and Ryder. He is also survived by his siblings; Julene, Wayne, Joanne, Randy, Gerry and foster brother David Hill.
Gordon was predeceased by his parents Martha and David.
A Memorial Service will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Friday, June 20, 2008 at 11:00 A.M.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 317-10th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2M7.

HENRY KORTH
2008

MR. HENRY NICKALAUS KORTH, beloved husband of Jean Korth, passed away suddenly in Lethbridge on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at the age of 91 years.
Besides his loving wife Jean, Henry leaves to mourn his passing his special sisters-in-law Jackie Egan and Grace Korth, nieces and nephews; Elaine, Ray (Debbie), Connie Wesley and Betty Stolte, Kathy (York) Forrington and Marline Heninger, Karen (Gary) Young, Murray and Terry Korth, Pat (Norman) McCutcheon, Wendy (Randy) Larue, Judy (Dave) Shardlow and a special young lady Kelly Korth.
Henry was predeceased by sisters Beth Wesley, Leona Wihnan-Mueller, Kay Avery, Ethel Korth and Margaret Korth, brothers James and Francis, brothers-in-law Fred Wesley, Bill Egan, Ken Avery, Alex Wihnan and Rome Mueller, sister-in-law Evyon Korth, aunt Florence Tyndall, nephew Allen Korth and Henry’s parents John and Grace Korth.
Henry was a son of a railroader and his family lived in many southern Alberta locations including Woodhouse, Granum, Lundbreck, Orion and Foremost before settling in Lethbridge. Henry was a railroader also, starting with Canadian Pacific Railway at an early age. He served in WWII from 1941 to 1945 in England, Germany, France, Holland and Belgium, being assigned to the 69th Canadian Transport Co. as a dispatch rider and tank transport driver. Following the war, he returned to Lethbridge and resumed his railroading career, ending his work life as Bridge and Building Master for the Calgary and Edmonton divisions.
Henry married Jean Turnbull in 1971 and they resided in Lethbridge except for a six year transfer to Calgary. He took an early retirement in 1970 and returned to Lethbridge.
Henry enjoyed his hobbies of fishing, hiking, woodworking, rock hunting, lapidary work, gardening and carpentry. He was an excellent craftsman in whatever he tackled and never bought anything he could make himself. Some of Henry’s fondest memories were fishing and hunting expeditions with his father and brothers, and travels with his family.
Henry was a member of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church and the Rockhounds Association.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge on Thursday, May 22, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Hugh Jack officiating.
Inurnment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, #207, 542 - 7th Street South, Lethbridge, AB, T1J 2H1.

EWALD KRUEGER
1920 - 2008

MR. EWALD KRUEGER, beloved husband of Mrs. Olga Krueger of Lethbridge, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre on Monday, May 5, 2008 at the age of 87 years.
Ewald is survived by his wife Olga and children Hilmer (Marguerite) Krueger of Medicine Hat and Rita (Natalino) Morin of Lacombe, and 2 brothers Hilmer (Tilly) and Diethelm (Gertrude), 6 grandchildren; Robert, David (Lena), Toni (Carla), Dennis, Connie (Richard) and Coleen and 7 great grandchildren; Lakyia, Gavin, Hayden, Nikita, Matthew, Katelyn and Rian as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Ewald was born July 26, 1920 in Schoutal, Ukraine. He met his future wife Olga in the Ukraine and they were married on August 11, 1946. Ewald immigrated to Canada with Olga and son in 1949 and in 1950 he was blessed with a daughter, Rita.
He worked hard as welder at Western Metal until retirement in 1985. He enjoyed bowling and was active in the Hubertus Shooting Club at the German Canadian Club. Papa will be sadly missed by his wife, son, daughter, family and friends. He was always there when needed. We will all remember the love, kindness and help given by him for the rest of our lives.
A Funeral Service will be held at IMMANUEL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 20 Rocky Mountain Blvd West, Lethbridge on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 1:00 P.M. with Pastor Richard Brown officiating.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

MARGARET KEMPENAAR
1916 - 2008

MARGARET KEMPENAAR, beloved wife of the late Robert (Reinder) Kempenaar, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Care Center Sunday, May 4, 2008 at the age of 92 years.
Margaret was born Maaike Vander Heide in Friesland, the Netherlands on February 15, 1916 where she was raised and educated. She was the fourth child and first daughter in a family of 10. She married Robert on May 23, 1936 and had five children. In 1953 she immigrated to Canada with her husband and children, settling in Lethbridge where she resided until her passing.
She is survived by her children; Ann (Jack) Sparreboom of Kelowna, B.C. and their children; Peter, Margaret, Quentin and Jeff; Jane (Jerry) Scodellaro of Grand Cache and their children; Carmen, Donald and Wayne; Sadie (Peter) Van Spronsen of Vernon, B.C. and their children; Sandra, Sheila, Sheldon, Diane and Marvin; Peter (Carol) Kempenaar of Lethbridge and their children Robert and Shelley; Ben (Lil) Kempenaar of Lethbridge and their children; Paul, Nancy and Julie, sister Pam Vander Heide of Lethbridge, 35 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada and the Netherlands.
She was predeceased by her husband Robert on August 20, 1989, grandson Randy Kok on October 9, 1965, great grandson Logan Luhoff on February 13, 1994, great granddaughter Erin Kok on April 28, 1994, sons-in-law Jake Kok on May 9, 1975 and Johannes Spruit on June 3, 1988.
At Margaret’s request, a private family service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

YVONNE KIM KALINSKY
2008

MRS. YVONNE KIM KALINSKY, beloved wife of Mr. Glen Kalinsky, passed away at the St. Michael’s Health Centre, Palliative Care on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the age of 55 years.
Besides her loving husband Glen, she is survived by her son Kevin.
A Graveside Service will be held at the COALDALE COMMUNITY CEMETERY on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating.
A Memorial Service will be held at the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 1614 -5th Avenue South, Lethbridge on Friday, April 25, 2008 at 3:00 P.M. with Pastor Bruce Martin officiating.

JOHN KAMPFMULLER
2008
MR. JOHN KAMPFMULLER, beloved husband of Mrs. Angie Kampfmuller of Lethbridge, passed away at the Edith Cavell Care Centre on Monday, March 17, 2008 at the age of 84 years.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children Helen (Will) Hendri of Scarborough, ON and Mary (Wayne) Abel of Lethbridge and grandchildren Ryan and Evan Abel of Lethbridge.
He was predeceased by numerous family in Czechoslovakia.
A private family service will be held at a later date.

MICHAEL KUZ
1931 - 2007

MR. MICHAEL “MIKE” JOHN KUZ, husband of Mrs. Stella Kuz, passed away at the Good Samaritans Society, Park Meadows Village on Friday, December 14, 2007 at the age of 76 years.
Besides his wife Stella, Mike is survived by his son Randy (Virginia) Kuz, grandson Austin and grandchildren Ryan and Daniel Waslovich. Mike is also survived by his sister Lorraine Buckinx, brother Bill Kuz, sister-in-law Marie Kuz, brother Tony (Lil) Kuz as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was predeceased by his parents John and Helen, daughter Yvonne and brother-in-law Bob Buckinx.
Mike was born August 17, 1931 in Fraserwood, Manitoba, just west of Gimli, where he was raised on the family farm. After leaving the farm he worked as a carpenter in several locations, eventually settling in Edmonton where he met his wife Stella. Together with their business partners they owned and operated the Royal Hotel in Stettler, the Park Lane Hotel in Medicine Hat and the York Hotel and Lodge Motel in Lethbridge. For the past few years Mike resided at the Garden View Lodge, the Magrath Good Samaritan Society and most recently the Park Meadows Good Samaritan Society.
Mike’s best times were spent simply enjoying a good meal with family, socializing with friends and of course, playing a game of crib. He will be lovingly remembered for his unique sense of humour and will be sadly missed.
A Funeral Service will be held at MCKILLOP UNITED CHURCH, 2329 - 15th Avenue South, Lethbridge on Wednesday, December 19, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. with Reverend Terry Shillington officiating.
Interment to follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

JEAN KRAUSE
2007

ELIZABETH “JEAN” KRAUSE, beloved wife of Pastor James Krause of Milk River, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at the age of 74 years.
Besides her loving husband James, she is survived by her children; Michelle (Michael) Pulsifer of Raymond, Michael (Phyllis) Krause of St. Charles, MO, Marcie (Jay) Eagleson of Marshall, SK and Mindy (Scott) Prunkle of Milk River, grandchildren; Jennifer (Mike), Craig (Vickie), Trisha (Curtis), Lisa (Cory), James (Kayla), Ryan, Nikki, Kyle, Leah, Crystal, Kimberly (Jason), Amanda (Cory), Jessie (Kent) and Katie (Sheldon) and great grandchildren Sheena, Samantha, Christopher, Shaunte, Savanna, Cortney, Jory, Tristin, Kavan, Colton, Ian, Eric, Robyn, Regan and Jayne. She is also survived by her brother Edmond Graves of St. Charles, MO, mother-in-law Elaine Weinerth of Nebraska, sister-in-law Carol Graves of Indianapolis, as well as James’ family; brothers Jerry (Wendy) Krause, Donald (Arlene) Krause and Richard (Sandra) Krause as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her daughter Brenda Lynn, brother Robert, mother Virginia, and foster mother Lucille Huther.
Jean was the kind of person that not only her family loved, but everyone she met did to. Jean was a very thoughtful, giving person. She was smart, happy, strong and loyal. Jean went through a lot of tough times but she was strong enough to get through. This time was different though, God opened the doors to heaven and let her in. May her spirit be in our hearts. God, please keep her safe and plant a garden full of flowers for her. She’d love that. May she be at peace. We will miss you Mom & Grandma.
Relatives and Friends are invited to a visitation at CORNERSTONE FUNERAL HOME, 2800 Mayor Magrath Drive South, Lethbridge, on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 from 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
A Funeral Service will be held at ST. PETER’S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Main Street, Milk River on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastors Kevin Powell and Brian Amison officiating.
Cremation to follow.
