Peter was born in the Netherlands on July 28, 1927. He had an adventurous spirit and experienced life to the fullest. He immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in Brandon, MB. His soon-to-be wife followed in 1952 and they were married soon after her arrival. He became a Psychiatric Nurse, working in the hospital for the mentally ill in Brandon. Dad was a man of deep faith and conviction and loved a good discussion, but was always gentle to challenge and encourage thought and not cause dissention or hurt feelings. It is difficult to encapsulate Dad in words but to those of us who were fortunate enough to know him, he leaves a deep and lasting understanding that we need to make a difference in the world in which we live.
