PETERSON -- Irene Peterson, beloved wife of Dr. Clifford Peterson of Calgary, passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on December 31, 1997 at the age of 73 years. Announcements later by McINNIS & HOLLOWAY FUNERAL HOMES "Park Memorial Chapel", 5008 EBOW DRIVE S.W., CALGARY. Telephone: 403-243-8200.

ROBERTSON -- (nee Wilson). On Monday, December 15, 1997, Katharine A. Robertson of Kipling, Sask. died peacefully at age 92. Katharine is survived by her two daughters, Valerie (George) Smith of Red Deer, AB and Jane (Donald) Lofto of Waterloo, Ont.;three grandsons, Patrick (Holly), Conrad, and Jonathan Lofto; one granddaughter Allyson Smith of Halifax; her sister Jean (Gordon) Soderberg, and sister-in-law Violet Wilson, all of Calgary; and several nieces and nephews. Katharine was predeceased by her husband Alex K. Robertson, and two brothers, Bill and Jim Wilson. Memorial Services were held in Kipling, Sask. on December 18, 1997.

SACKETT -- Mrs. Lillian Sackett of Didsbury, Alberta, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at the age of 86 years. Lillian was born January 15, 1911 in Canmore, Alberta. She is survived by her loving sons and daughters-in-la, Harry and Lorraine Sackett, Russell and Alice Sackett, Debbie Sackett. She will be greatly missed by her seven grandchildren, Cheryl (Joe) Taks, Tara, Marsha, Bryce, Lesley, Bradley and Mark Sackett; three great-grandchildren, James, Jordan and Braelyn Taks. Lillian was predeceased by her husband Fred Sackett in 1980 and two sons, Ivan and Glenn. A private family Interment will take place on Monday, January 5, 1998 at the Crossfield Cemetery. Memorial Services will be held on Monday, January 5, 1998 at 2:00 p.m. at the Zion Evangelical Missionary Church (South), 2025 - 20 Avenue, Didsbury, Alberta with Pastor Richard Pahl officiating. SAUNDERS -- Mr. Peter Saunders, born 1921, beloved husband of Margaret, passed away on December 31, 1997 at the Foothills Hospital. Peter is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and David Jarvis; his sister-in-law and husband, Doris nd Bob Magnusson and family. A private family Service will be held. SCHMALE -- Clarence Henry Schmale passed away at the Peter Lougheed Centre on January 1, 1998. Clarence was born March 12, 1914 in Luseland, Saskatchewan to Herman and Henrietta Schmale. He attended school in Luseland then moved to Maidstone in 1934 here he farmed with his dad and brother. In 1939 he married Gladys Harmel. They had three children, Bev, Marv and Sheila. In 1944 Clarence and his family left the farm to explore his many talents in other fields with United Grain Growers, Northern Alberta School Division, Beaver Lumber, Monarch and Cloverdale Paint. In 1973, after Gladys died suddenly, he returned to Maidstone. On November 11, 1977 he married Denise Prince. They lived in Red Deer, Maidstone, Victoria and then back to Calgary. Clarence leaves to mourn, his loving wife Denise; daughters, Beverly Proctor, Sheila (Irwin) Griffith; and son Marvin (Cecily) Schmale; twin sisters, Dorothy Harmel and Doris Frazer; grandchildren, Rob (Robin) Proctor, Brenda Porter, Wesley, Lindsay, Jayme and Geoffrey Griffith and Erin Schmale; and stepchildren, Paul (Jeanette) Prince, Jae (Gerard) Hauk, Suzanne Gette, Rita (Randall) Muhlbier, Carmen Ash, Roseanne (Mac) DeBeaudrap, Jerome (Krista) Prince, Marcel (Roxanne) Prince, Collin (Sherry Ann) Prince, and their families. Clarence was predeceased by his first wife Gladys, his parents, and his brother Albert. Funeral Services will be held at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 3220 - 4 Street N.W., on Monday, January 5, 1998 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor A.V. Granberg officiating. ALLEN -- Margaret Flora. It is with great sadness that on December 22, 1997, Margaret Flora Allen of Calgary, formerly of Edmonton, passed away quietly at the Foothills Hospital after a very short illness. Her loving husband Henry; daughter Margaret;son-in-law Gary Webster; grandchildren, Brent and his wife Glenys, Jeffery and Janice; as well as many nieces and nephews, will sorely miss her. Margaret will also be missed by the many friends who knew her through the years with her bright smile and always being there to lend a helping hand. BERG -- Katherine, of Calgary, passed away peacefully on December 28, 1997. She was predeceased by her husband Robert, and her brother Stephen. Katherine is survived by her loving daughter Darlene Tyson; two sisters, Mary Pederson and Annie Kosinski.Prayer Services will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 1997 at 8:00 p.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 1525 - 45 Street S.E., with Reverend Inno Cambaling, Celebrant. CAMPBELL -- Evelyn Frances passed away December 28, 1997. Memorial Service will be held January 2, at Carewest Sarcee Chapel.

CLEMENTS -- Olivia (Lovie) passed away on December 25, 1997 at the age of 84 years to be with her loving husband Speed. She is survived by her son Brenton (Loretta) and their six children, daughter Shirley (Norm) Carter and their nine children, daugher Gloria (Wayne) Dale-Johnson and their five children, and her late daughter Doreen (Michael) Meyers' children. She is also survived by two nephews, many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Frank (Speed), her son Billy, daughter Doreen (Michael), brothers, Crawford and Courtney Scott, and a niece Edna. Lovie was born on January 31, 1913 in Calgary. She met Speed in 1927 and they married on May 8, 1930, enjoying sixty-five years together. Lovie's family was the centre of her life. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, being known as "mom", (nana) to many others as well. Her home was always open to those who knew her. Lovie was co-founder of Calalta Figure Skating Club and worked hard to bring indoor skating arenas to Calgary. She also spent many summers as dorm mother for the summer skating school in Kelowna. Lovie spent the past seven months living at the Bethany Care Centre in Airdrie to be near family. Her family and friends loved her a great deal and she will be sadly missed. CUNNINGHAM -- Wayne Grant. On Monday, December 29, 1997, Mr. Wayne Cunningham died in the Royal Alexandra Hospital after 68 years of life. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Mabel; his children, Roger (Anita), Patricia, Donald (Brenda) and Chistine (Mario); and grandchildren, Christopher, Cheryl, Barry, Lori, Kate and Milana. He also leaves one brother Leo (Terry), and several nieces and nephews. He will be loved and remembered always. DAVIDSON -- Marjorie Katherine Davidson passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospital on December 28, 1997, three days prior to her 87th birthday. She was predeceased by her husband Stanley Harris, her sister Emma Wakeford, and her grandson Gary Daidson. Her love and laughter will be greatly missed by her two sons and their wives, Frank (Shirley) Davidson, Jim (Mae) Davidson; five grandchildren, Linda (Bob) Carver of Strathmore, Cheryl (Ron) Ferguson of Three Hills, Wendy (David) Buck of St. Albert, Brenda Davidson of Calgary, Rob Davidson of Three Hills; nine great-grandchildren; brother Frank (Alma) Griblin from Vancouver. Interment will be at Mountain View Memorial Gardens, Calgary, Alberta, at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 2, 1998, followed by a Memorial Service from the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church in Three Hills at 2:00 p.m. As per her request, memorial tributes may be made directly to S.T.A.R.S. DONALDSON -- Mr. Gordon Leon Donaldson passed away peacefully, December 26, 1997, after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 67. Gordon was born in Lethbridge, Alberta on November 1, 1930 and was raised in the town of Claresholm.He obtained a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta in 1952 and began his career as a Project Engineer involved with highway planning and construction in the province upon graduation. He went on to become a Senior Planner with the City of Calgary for several years before establishing a private land development consulting practice. During the last twenty years he continued to be active on a semi-retired basis in land development and real estate investing. Gordon was a deeply religious and charitable man with a special passion for the poor and the religiously persecuted. That personal ministry began in his home church where he started taking children to Sunday School in his Volkswagon bus and it eventually took on international proportions through the Gordon Donaldson Missionary Foundation to countries like India, Hungary, Romania, China, Estonia, the Ukraine and finally the former Russia. He packed shoe boxes with dry goods to send to African children for ten years, continuing that work up until only a few weeks ago. His compassion and generosity also involved an executive position with International Russian Radio and Television, an organization that transmits Russian language radio and television gospel programs it produces in Finland over several international radio stations into the former Soviet Union. His desire was to have the whole world know Jesus died for them and loves them. His loving memory will be cherished by his wife of forty-six years Marie (Osinchuk); four sons, Jim (and his special friend Zoe), Gerry (Janelle), Rob (Sharon) and Tim (Cindy); seven grandchildren, Jodi, Alanna, Nicole, Matthew, Rena, Austin and Carter; three great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ethan and Mackenzie; and a brother Terry (Barbara) of Comox, BC. He was predeceased by a son Andrew, a sister Doris, and by his parents, Martha and Ken. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 1997 at FOSTER'S GARDEN CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME, 3220 - 4 Street N.W. at 12:30 p.m. Interment to follow at Queen's Park Cemetery. Heartfelt thanks are extended to the caring nurses in Unit 43 and to Drs. Braun and Herman at the Peter Lougheed Centre as well as the dedicated nurses in Unit 71 and Dr. Williams at the Rockyview Hospital. Very special thanks are extended to Home Care Nurse Pam Brown. DUFFY -- Dermot Joseph Duffy Sr. passed away at the Kelowna General Hospital on December 27, 1997 at the age of 72. He is survived by his wife Philomena (Phil) of forty years; sons, Dermot, Edward (Lil); daughter Ann Marie; three grandchildren, Danie, Adam and Tessa; three sisters in Ireland; and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his son Alan, parents, five brothers and one sister. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 31 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, 750 North Rutland Road, Kelowna, B.C. with Father James Murphy as Celebrant. DUFFY -- Thomas (Tom) Duffy, beloved husband of Norma and beloved father of Deborah, Michael and Kevin, passed away at his home on Monday, December 29, 1997 after a brief, courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55 years. Tom will be greatly missd by his family and friends in Calgary, Edinburgh, Scotland and Newcastle, England.
