Bertha Nuefeld
November 21, 1919 - December 10, 2011
On, Saturday, December 10, 2011 Bertha Neufeld journey’s on this earth ended when she was welcomed Home by her Heavenly Father, her beloved Ben and so many others who were waiting!
Bertha was born November 21, 1919 in Teddington, Saskatchewan . She married Bernard (Ben) Neufeld in 1938 . They lived in Lost River, Saskatchewan until 1956 when they headed west with their family finally settling in 100 Mile House, BC in 1960. They moved to Kamloops in 1989.
She was predeceased by her first son at his birth, her parents Henry and Katherina Peters, husband Ben, sisters Tina, Mary and Margaret, and chosen grandson, Roger Lulua.
Left behind to miss her are her sons Harold (Grace), Leonard (Marie), and Waine (Sharon), and chosen daughter Donna; grandchildren Scott and Raena (Matt) Sutherland, Teri and Kent (Cindy), Julie (Mike) Lange and Jonathan (Elise); greatgrandchildren Taeven Sutherland, Benjamin and Paige, Jaidyn Lange, Angel and Brandon. She will also be remembered by sisters Agnes and Sarah plus other family members and many longtime friends!
Mom (“Little Bertha“) was a quiet powerhouse whose amazing Mennonite baking and cooking still causes all who enjoyed it to salivate! Her immaculate home was always open to those who needed a bed or a meal. Her days were also filled with quilting and sewing and gardening and caring for others. The Evangelical Free Churches of 100 Mile House and Kamloops were blessed to have her in their church families.
After her sons were grown and married, she and Dad brought a baby girl, Donna, into their home to love and nurture.
In her last years, Mom’s mind began to fade and with it, her inhibitions (quietness) faded! She was free to be playful, ready to tease and sing and laugh…. And share any thoughts she had!
Our family honours Mom for her servant heart, her wisdom, her faithfulness, her integrity and her deep love for others and her Lord.
Have a wonderful eternity, Mom! We’ll miss you.

Dennis Richard Dahl
November 13, 1949 - December 15, 2011
After a courageous year’s battle with cancer, Dennis Richard Dahl of Kamloops, BC passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice, in Kamloops. Dennis was born in Chilliwack and raised on the family dairy farm in Sumas Prairie, BC. He attended Upper Sumas Elementary School and then graduated from Abbotsford Senior Secondary School. He attended Simon Fraser University and was employed some years at Brunette Machine Works in New Westminster, BC with his brother Dave. Later he moved to Barriere, BC and was involved with the logging industry. After a move to Kamloops he worked for the Lake City Casino for over 13 years, and owned his own newspaper distribution business which he operated for 13 years.
He was the youngest of eight children born to the late John and Anna Dahl. He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, George, Albert and Irvin. Dennis will forever be remembered by his beloved wife of 30 years, Carmen Dahl, and loving children Christopher Dahl and Gemma Dahl, his devoted brothers John and wife, Jean, David and wife, Faith, and Les and wife, Miriam, loving sister Anne Miller, and caring in-laws Bradley Smith and Miriam Kappmeier, along with countless friends and family whom were blessed to know him. Dennis was an avid reader and well versed in all matter of subjects, cooking, a connoisseur of music, and gardening with his devoted dogs, Lulu and Olle. Spending time with his family was very important to him. Dennis touched the lives of many people with his wit and generosity, and maintained his trademark dry sense of humor all the way to the end. It was his desire to be a help to others by participating in the clinical cancer trial in Vancouver.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Thursday, December 22nd, 2011, at 2 pm at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive, Kamloops, BC. The family requests in lieu of flowers, all donations be sent to the wonderful people who gave such wonderful care for Dennis in his time of need at the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice, 72 S. Whiteshield Crescent, Kamloops BC.

Sarah Evelyn Ward
December 16, 1914 - December 18, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sarah Evelyn Ward on December 18, 2011. Sarah was born in Kamloops on December 16, 1914 and lived most of her life in the Kamloops area, growing up on ranches near Savona. In the last few years Sarah made her home at the Pine Grove Care Center.
She was predeceased by her husband Sidney in 1976. Also by her parents Muir and Emma Watson and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her loving children, Elsie (Bob) Bentley, John (Pearl) Ward, Dan (Angela) Ward, Ruth (Bob) Black, Joe (Elaine) Ward and 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, three great great grandchildren and one sister Violet Ewashina.
Sarah was known for her love of life, she loved going to garage sales, family gatherings and she especially loved Christmas. She will be missed this year by all her family and friends.
We would like to give a special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Pine Grove Care Center for their care of Mom.
A Memorial Celebration will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at 1:00 p.m

Lal Singh Narang
May 15, 1935 – December 23, 2011
It is with the greatest sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Lal Singh Narang. He leaves behind a large family and dear friends who loved him. Lal is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Maya Wanti (or as he always referred to her as his ‘lovely wife’); his children, Surinder Chawla, Palvinder Narang, and Debbie Narang; his grandchildren, Eric Chawla (Sunita) and Deepak Chawla (Mandy); and the new love of his life, his great grandchild, Aaliyah. He was predeceased by his daughter Rajinder Narang.
Lal was born in Dhudike, India and immigrated to Canada in 1969. Lal worked in the forestry industry as a lumber grader until his retirement in 2001. Though he retired, he never sat still. Lal loved life and his family. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic and reliability, but most of all, for his warm big smile. He was a man of few words, but his sharp wit, his easy sense of humour and great love for everyone will always remain with us. Lal will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A viewing was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Elks Hall, 1702 Coldwater Avenue, Merritt, BC, followed by cremation in Kamloops, and then a Service at the Gurdwara (Merritt Sikh Temple).

Janet Norah Wallace
March 1st, 1937 – December 24th, 2011
After a valiant two-year battle with cancer, Janet passed away peacefully with family at her side at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home in Kamloops, BC.
Janet (nee Craig) was born in Winnipeg, MB, the fourth of six children to Stuart and Norah Craig. Her school years were spent in Terrace, BC, where she first met her husband Keith in 1953. They were married June 1st, 1957 and lived in Vancouver and Penticton before finally settling in Kamloops in August 1964.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Keith, four children, Shelley (Ian) Robertson, Michael (Cheryl), Greg (Judi), and Karla (Shea) Hewitt and her five grandchildren Ryan (Nicole), Lisa (Mike), Brendan, Kelli, and Victoria. Predeceased by her parents Stuart and Norah, her sister Valerie and brother in-law Ted. She is survived by her brothers Stuart (Constance), Robert, John (Pat), sister Arlene (Len), sister in-law Audrey, brother in-law Don (Shirley) and many loving nieces and nephews.
Janet had many talents: an avid gardener, weaver, and a very competitive tennis player. She was a member of both the Kamloops Arts and Crafts at Heritage House and Kamloops Tennis Centre for many years. She won many medals competing in tennis at the BC Senior Games. Her most recent achievement was a gold medal in the ladies doubles 70+ one month prior to being diagnosed with cancer in October 2009. Janet loved her time at the cabin at Shuswap Lake where many hours were spent enjoying her flower garden, tennis, family and entertaining friends.
Thank you to the nurses at Royal Inland Hospital, particularly those working in the Cancer Clinic. A special thank you also to the wonderful staff and volunteers at the Kamloops Hospice Home for their compassionate care during her final five weeks. Also, a heartfelt thanks to Drs. Robert Thomasse, Bradley Proctor and Christopher Stabler for their expertise and ongoing care during Janet’s cancer journey. The family would also like to thank all the friends who provided continued support and companionship over the past two years.
A celebration of life will be held at the Kamloops Coast Hotel Convention Centre (formerly Kamloops Towne Lodge) 1250 Rogers Way, Kamloops on Saturday, January 7th, 2012 at 11:00 am.
A memorial will be held in the summer at the cabin at Shuswap Lake, date to be announced later. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Kamloops Hospice Association and/or Royal Inland Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Bill Inglis
April 11, 1971- December 28, 2011
“If you see me getting smaller, I’m leaving, don’t be grieving, just gotta get away from here, If you see me getting smaller, don’t worry, I’m in no hurry, I’ve got the right to disappear.”……… Waylon Jennings.
Bill leaves his dad Bill, sister Kelly, nieces Jade, Shae Lyn and Dakoda and nephew Jack to miss his humor and easy presence every day. He is also survived by his aunts, uncles and cousins who he knew all loved and supported him. Bill had friends from childhood who were more like brothers to him, and family to us, Gord and Geoff we can’t thank you enough. Bill always made friends easily with his humor and authentic way, even at work, Paul, Chris and Homer; we felt we knew you because Bill always spoke of you with a smile. We know Bill is now at peace with our mom Jackie who passed away in 2006. Bill and our dad were the best of pals; Bill always called him Wilbur and made us all laugh. I can’t express how much Dad treasured and cared for Bill from his first day until his last, despite the unbearable pain of losing such a loved child. Thank you to Dr. Newmarch and to all of the nurses who cared for Bill. In lieu of flowers a kind act paid forward to someone in need would be Bill’s wish, or even better in his opinion would be to take yourself to a Rolling Stones concert and think of him when they play Ruby Tuesday. Rest Easy Our Billy Boy.

Barry McLeod Beesley
April 12, 1934 - December 28, 2011
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Barry McLeod Beesley on
December 28, 2011 after a long illness.
Barry was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on April 12, 1934 to May and Grover Beesley.
He will be lovingly remembered by Margaret (Marg), his wife of 53 years, sons Doug of Edmonton, Kevin (Debbie) of Kamloops, and daughter Kathryn (Pete) Fidanza of Kamloops. Barry loved the frequent visits and hugs from grandsons Nicholas and Michael Fidanza as well as Robert and Jacob Beesley. Barry is also survived by brother Robert (Gail) Beesley of Regina Saskatchewan, brother-in-law David (Blythe) Spink of Ponoka Alberta, and cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.
Barry was a graduate of the University of Saskatchewan, and the University of British Columbia. He taught school in Melfort, Saskatchewan, Marengo, Saskatchewan and Kamloops, BC. He taught English, Social Studies, Special Education and later was a librarian. In earlier years he was a coach for hockey, soccer and curling. Barry was a very active member on the church board of Mount Paul United Church, as well as in the choir.
Barry’s major interests were family history and exploring family ancestral areas. He was privilaged to do a lot of touring in Canada, Great Britian and took a number of cruises.
A Special thank you to the caring staff of the Royal Inland Hospital, Ponderosa and especially to the Overlander Extended Care Staff (Evergreen). Your hard work and dedicated care are greatly appreciated.
A Celebration of Life will take place on January 7, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Mount Paul United Church, 140 Laburnum Street. No flowers by request.

Paul Edward Aubertin
May 1, 1953 - December 28, 2011
Paul Edward Aubertin of Stratford, Ontario passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2011 at 58 years of age.
He is survived by his loving daughter Carolyn (Tim) Lagore of Kamloops BC, grandchildren Justin O’Hearn, C.J. Varty and Jesse Varty, brothers Gerald (Gwen) Aubertin and Richard (Marg) Aubertin, nieces Heather and Jessica, and nephew Jeremy.
Paul was predeceased by his mother Elizabeth Aubertin (1972) and his father Henry Aubertin.
There will be no formal ceremony as per request, however, if friends so desire, donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Archie Brown
August 13, 1921 - March 23, 2008
It is with great sadness that we lay our friend, husband, father, grandfather, uncle to rest.
Archie Brown passed away at the age of 86 at the Royal Inland Hospital on Sunday, March 23, 2008. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Jean; his daughter Heather (Wayne), grandson Eddie, nieces Norine, Maxine, Betty, Judy, and Pat, and nephews Doug and Bob.
He was predeceased by his son Carey (1993), brothers William and Harry, and sisters Mabel, Bertha and Pearl.
Archie came to Vancouver in 1949, spent time in the Yukon and then settled in Prince George to have a family. He was transferred to Kamloops in 1964 to work as a stationary engineer at Central Heating and then to the Tranquille Power Plant. He lived in the area (including Chase) until now.
He had a heart of gold and gave of it so generously to everyone. Every stranger he met on his daily walks received his cheerful “Good Morning!”
The Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, March 28, 2008 at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive.
