PROCTER - Saturday, 12 Jul 2003
George Procter of High River, Alberta, died at the Peter Lougheed Hospital on July 12th, 2003 in the presence of his two daughters, Wendy and Norene. George died nine months after his wife Gloria and is survived by his two daughters, Wendy and Norene and his son, Don (Bev). George was a truly devoted husband caring for Gloria for many years in her difficult struggle with Alzheimers's disease. He travelled across this province in every kind of weather to the various facilities to look after her for the year she spent in outside care. He was a wonderful dad and a best friend to his kids. His commitment as father and husband was huge. George's passion was golf and he played nine holes once or twice most days until two months before his death. He did the crosswords daily and had a brilliant, alert mind to the end.
George's career was spent in the Canadian Air Force.
George leaves behind three children, three sisters and some dear friends across Canada. Not having any grandchildren but many pets (all three kids have countless animals). George wanted to support his children in their efforts to help animals. Any donations in his name should be sent either to the Cochrane Humane Society, 305 Bow Street, Cochrane, Alberta T4C 2B9 (Phone # 403-932-2072) or the "Pound Rescue" in Okotoks (Phone # 403-938-4890). The family will receive notification from the Humane Society and the "Pound Rescue" on all donations and they both thank you.
"Dad we miss you so much"
A private family service will be held. Cremation arrangements in care of Parklawn Crematorium, High River.

GOUGH-WINTER, Lilyan - Thursday, 21 Sep 2006
Lilyan passed away peacefully on September 21, 2006, at Christine Morrison Hospice in Mission. Lilyan was born in Winnipeg on November 19, 1922. She and husband Grev (deceased) moved to "Lotusland" (as Lil called it) in 1985. Any day they considered to be a good day, by Prairie standards, they spent either picnicking or exploring the breathtaking views of BC and always an eye out for a new restaurant along the way.
Lil was predeceased by her sister Pauline; brothers George, Arnold and Art Mann. She is survived by her two sons, Rob (Carroll) and Jeff (Patti), her beloved grandchildren, Daniel, Kyle and Casandra, of Winnipeg (whom she adored and was so proud of), brother Alf (Stella) of Vernon, sister Laurie (Lloyd) of Abbotsford, her niece Leslie, grandniece Simone, and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will always remember her for her feisty spirit and her perfect sense of style. Lil could always be counted on for a cup of tea, a homemade scone and an open ear to many good friends and relatives back in Winnipeg and in Abbotsford.
Lil will also be missed by her Saturday canasta partners Sophie, Glady, Patti and Marg.
The family extends many thanks for Lil's caring friends Marg Smith, Patti Beable, and to the Hospice staff who attended her so tenderly. Very special thanks to nurse-angel Spikey Jayne who could always be counted on to bring a smile to Lilyan's face and give strength to her family.
There will be no service, at Lilyan's request. In Lil's memory, donations can be made to the most wonderful Christine Morrison Hospice Society, 3rd Floor, 7324 Hurd St., Mission, BC V2V 3H5.

HAND, Margaret Jean - Monday, 25 Sep 2006
Margaret Jean passed away peacefully on September 25, 2006 at the age of 91. Margaret is survived by Steven, her devoted and loving husband of 70 wonderful years. She will be deeply missed by son Lewis (Brenda) and daughter Helen Totokey grandchildren Deejay (Normand), Cassidy (Bob), Peter and David; great grandchildren Taryn and Cadence; sister Kathleen Dutz; and brothers Walter, Ronald, Arnold and their families.
Over the years Margaret made a warm and loving home for her family and was known for the many delicious meals she prepared for family and friend get togethers. She loved to knit and sew and for years contributed hand-made items for the church bazaars. Once retired, Margaret took up oil painting and became quite the artist. She was one of the few women who received a license to become a radio amateur with the call VE7EYM. Over the years she also enjoyed the many adventures she had with Steven while travelling around the world. We have many wonderful memories of our wife and mother.
Memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2006 at 2:00 pm at Trinity Memorial United Church, 33737 George Ferguson Way, Abbotsford, 604-853-2591. If friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

KOCH, Denzil (Dennis) Raymond - Sunday, 17 Sep 2006
Denzil (Dennis) Raymond
It is with the deepest sadness that the family of Dennis Koch announces his sudden death on September 17, 2006 at 62 years old.
Dennis was predeceased by his twin siblings Gerald and Geraldine, mother, Madeleine, stepmother, Christina, father Emanuel, his brother-in-law Jamie and his father-in-law James Stewart. He is survived by his wife Karen and his children Dawn and Laura, (Carol), Sarah, Stewart, Tiffany and Travis. His loved his grandchildren Tanner, Jenny, Alex, Sabrina, Trinity, and Brendan. He will be remembered by his “adopted family” Tony, Shawn and Melissa and Debbie, Aaron, Tyler, Joel and his special girl, Haley. He is survived by his siblings Marguerite, Ruby, Leslie and Don and their families. Karen’s family was his family; his mother-in-law Lorna, Laurie (Vickie), Leslie (John) and Kelley (Michael) and their families will also grieve his loss.
Dennis and Karen have been foster parents for the last 28 years and Dennis adored his babies. He has been papa to D for the last 2-1/2 years. They loved to watch Treehouse on TV and just hang out and she is lost without him.
Dennis belonged to Mission Wings Flying Club and lived to build his beautiful planes. He started as a control-line builder, flier and competitor and accumulated many trophies. He trained and got his pilot’s license and flew his beloved 2-seater Cessna “Angel” for awhile and then his 4-seater “Gypsy”. The kids took many flights with their dad and Travis loved to do “up and downs”. Tiffany was the flour-bombing expert. There was a pause in model-building and flying while the children were little and later with a little more time on his hands he got back into flying and started to fly radio-control models. He loved to go to the field and have coffee and fly. The guys down at the field always had cookies for the kids. He had only been home about 20 minutes from a fly-in he had attended all that morning with our little boy.
Dennis was a hard-working, reliable truck-driver since he was 20 years old. He was content with his job and looked forward to retirement. We had purchased land in the Shuswap and he had fallen in love with his 2 acres. He had been raised on a farm in Alberta and he was so excited with all the plans he had for all of us. Trees, goats, ponies for the little girls and boys, and a cabin for all of us figured in the plans.
After discussion with all the family there will be no formal service. He will be cremated and in June 2007, family and friends and anyone who wishes to make the trip will go to Celista to “Cedar Meadows” where we will build a rock cairn where Dennis and his dog Blue can remain forever at peace. He can watch the land for us when we aren’t there and remind us how happy it made him when we go up there to stay.
I would like to sincerely thank Irene, Vanessa and all my coworkers at MSA and MMH Hospitals, my friends, neighbors, my family and my wonderful children for their support. I would also like to thank the Rescue Team and the Paramedics who worked so hard to keep Dennis here. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation gratefully accepted.
He had already found heaven at his “Cedar Meadows”. ‘We will miss you 'til we meet again someday’. Love always, Karen and all the family.
