Survived by Ron, her loving husband of 55 years, daughters Jane Lucas and Anne (Ross) Campbell, grandchildren Jessica and Shawn Campbell, sister Margaret Welch, sister-in-law Katherine Power, and many nieces and nephews in BC and England. Pat served in the ATS in England for five years during WWII. For many years she was very active in Guiding in BC. Throughout her life she enjoyed family, community and social activities. She will be lovingly remembered by all who knew her. A remarkaable woman, she always brought out the best in everyone with her cheerful and optimistic disposition. She will be greatly missed. MATHIESON - Christina Elizabeth. Passed away at Lions Gate Hospital on November 12, 1998 at the age of 91 years. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Susan Jaggs; niece Betty Graham and her three sons; nephew Grant Davidson of Toronto; numerous other nieces and nephews in Cleveland, Ohio. She lived many years in Edmonton where she served as President of the C.N.I.B., the I.O.D.E. and the Salvation Army, a longtime member of Capilano Golf and Country Club, a keen bridge player, a wonderful mother and a dear friend with only kind and caring thoughts for others. BRYANT - Marion Rose. Born in Winnipeg, October 15, 1917. Died peacefully at Evergreen House in North Vancouver on November 17, 1998. She was predeceased in 1994 by her loving husband Arthur, they shared a wonderful life together for 51 years. Marion will be dearly missed by her two brothers Joe and Syd Sandell of Montreal and her sons Dennis, Roger and Colin and grandsons. TERRILLON - Leo M. Passed away on November 18, 1998 at the age of 74 after a valiant battle with cancer. A husband to Marion, father to sons Don (Deb) and Glen (Delane), grandpa to Brett, Jason, and Shane, and predeceased by granddaughter Kylie (1991). Survived by extended family of Terrillon and Roberts, and friends everywhere. Leo fulfilled his dreams by settling in Halfmoon Bay to golf, garden, hunt and fish, after a career with the District of North Vancouver. No service by request. PERVIS - Dorothy Margaret Cornwell (nee Leigh) of North Vancouver. Passed peacefully to a heavenly home on November 17, 1998, aged 89. Dorothy was born in Rayleigh, England in 1909 to missionaary parents in Northern Ontario. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Dr. Dennis W. Pervis, daughter-in-law Joan and grandson Robert, of Coquitlam. Predeceased by her husband William, KIA, Canadian Army, 1944, by her parents, Rev. Canon John and Mary Annie Leigh and; by her brother Laurie (J.L.) Leigh. Also survived by Leigh relatives in B.C., in England and by Cornwell relatives in Australia and England. Dorothy was well known as a member of St.Agnes, St. Johns and Canyon Heights C.A. Churches in North Vancouver. REITH - Erwin Heinrich. Born in Germany . Passed away peacefully, surrounded by family (after his 4th stroke) at Lions Gate Hospital on November 19, 1998 at the age of 71. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Hilde, his daughters Angela and Monica, son-in-law Martin, grandson Brandon, all his relatives in Germany and by all who knew him. GRANT - Francis Joseph (Frank) born October 2, 1920 died November 6, 1998 after a 1 year struggle with a condition called Amyloidosis. Frank was born in Dauphin, Manitoba, he moved to Port Arthur, Ontario (now Thunder Bay) in 1936. In April 1941 he enlisted in the R.C.A.F. and trained as a Pilot. During the war he flew operations on Canada's East Coast, Newfoundland, Labrador and later in the U.K. where he was awarded a (D.F.C.) Distinguished Flying Cross. Discharged October 1945 he enrolled at U.B.C. January 2, 1946, graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in 1948. His entire business career was in Vancouver. He was a past President of the Building Owners & Managers Association of B.C. and was active in Downtown Kiwanis for 30 years and involved in many City and Industry Committees. He was a long time member of The Terminal City Club and The Squamish Valley Golf & Country Club. Survived by his loving wife, Cicely and his 2 sons; Gordon Page Grant of Nanaimo and Patrick Noel Grant of San Diego; daughter-in-law, Christine Graham and his beloved grandaughter Kieren Grant. Dave is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Ethel; daughter Sue (Doug) Jones and grandchildren of Nanoose Bay, B.C., many relatives and close friends. Dave served in the R.C.A.F. overseas 1942-1945. He had a cartage business in West Vancouver until 1957. He then owned and operated Eagle Harbour Marina until 1969 when it was operated as Eagle Harbour Yacht Club which he managed until 1975. He retired to Bowen Island in 1981. Allan was predeceased by two brothers Bill and Rupert, and two sisters Phyllis and Margaret. He leaves here Iris, his wife of 57 years and three daughters with families of their own. Allan was an independent building contractor and specialized in home renovations. His love of the garden was an excellent hobby as he cared for year round vegetables and shared his abundance. Allan retired to Qualicum Beach taking his hobby with him. He also cares for three foster children. A memorial service will be held at a later date and in lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Fund or gardening interest.
CAMPBELL - Gertrude Elizabeth (nee Wilander), age 92, predeceased by her husband Jack, passed away suddenly at Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, October 12, 1998, surrounded by her daughter Joy and son-in-law Geoff, granddaughter Janice and her husband Doug, and her fourteenth great grandchild, baby Lauren Danielle. Gertrude is also lovingly remembered by her son Bruce and daughter-in-law Lottie, their five children and spouses and thirteen grandchildren, and by her nieces, nephews and friends. Will be sadly missed by his loving wife Cora and daughter Anne (Bob), sons Bob (Caroline and Ken (Rejane), seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren. By his sister Mildred and family in Scotland. Ken worked many years at Pacific Press until his retirement in 1978. He was a member of Hollyburn Masonic Lodge #135 for more than fifty years where he served a s Worshipful Master in 1971. Special thanks to the dedicated medical staff at Delta and St. Paul's Hospitals. Service wil be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Malrine Drive, West Vancouver, at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 10, 1998. Reception to follow at the West Vancouver Masonic Hall, 1763 Bellevie Avenue. Flowers gratefully declined in favor of donations to a charity of your choice.
