McMULLEN - Charles Reginald (Reg) born August 25, 1916 in Kindersley, Saskatchewan passed away at Surrey Memorial Hospital August 27, 1998. Reg was a long time resident of North Vancouver and was with B.C. Hydro for 34 years. Survived by his loving family; wife of 54 years Eileen; daughters Kelly Scott (Chuck), Lynn Mulloy (Bill); grandchildren Randy Milne, Charleen Vowels; and 5 great grandchildren. Also survived by brother Jack and sister Thora of Edmonton, sister Rena of Kindersley; sister-in-law Gladys of Victoria. Reg will always be remembered for his wonderful sense of humour, with him until the end. Cremation. Reg requested there be no formal service and for those desiring, donations be sent to the charity of your choice. Family gathering at a later date.

PYE - Jean passed away suddenly on August 26, 1998 aged 60. Jean is sadly missed by husband Ken, and family Scott, Beth, Ernest, David, Angela, Veronica, Jenny, and their families. Jean's many friends in the community will long remember her giving and caring. Friends from the running community will remember her for starting the North Shore Marathon Clinic and fitness instruction at the YMCA. We have all lost a truly wonderful, kind, generous, and unselfish wife, mother, and friend. Jean has inspired us all. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 2nd at St. Clements Anglican Church, Institute Road, North Vancouver at 1:00 pm. MOLSON - Marga Edda, went to be with her Lord August 20, 1998. Born in Prussia in 1930 and graduated from SFU while raising 6 children, Marga had courage beyond compare. Taking comfort in knowing that she is with her Lord and her sons, Harry (1991) and John (1993) are her children, Margaux, Michael, Dennis and David, dearest friend Mimi, extend family Roland, Peter, Janice, Bev and Penny and many grandchildren who knew her as Oma. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 1998 at Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2350 - 148th Street, Surrey. STEWART - Michael Charles died August 24, 1998, eight years after nearly losing his life to the disease called Alcoholism. During these years Mike took all the necessary steps toward recovery, and became once again what he had been as a young man - EVERYBODY'S FRIEND. He is survived by his loving wife Caroline, devoted sons David and Robert, brothers Robert and James, his aunt Beverly Wilson, and many other loving relatives and close friends.
There will be a memorial service at Highlands United Church, 3255 Edgemont Blvd., North Vancouver on Friday, August 28, at 3:00 p.m. We hope everyone who would like to share in this celebration of Michael Stewart's life will be able to attend.

WOOLLEY - Emma Jane (nee Airriess). Passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on August 22, 1998. ELLIOTT - James Donald (Don)
Born September 16, 1913 in Beverly, Alberta. Passed away quietly August 25, 1998 in the company of loved ones. Predeceased by his loving wife Eileen, Don's memory will be cherished by his children Lynn (Bob), Joan (Keith), Pat, Martin (Debra), Rob (Jo-Ann), grandchildren Kelly (Kevin), Steven, Jim, Paul (Julie), Teresa, Brian, Christine, Jennifer and Danny, great-grandchildren Kathleen, Lexie, Liam, and faithful dog Bijou. Don's ever positive attitude and zest for life was reflected in all things he did. He was a charter founding member of the Mt. Seymour Lions Club and will be greatly missed by all its members. Don travelled extensively throughout the world, and touched the lives of all he met with his friendly smile and great sense of humour.

BEER - Janet Millard (nee McAllister), passed away in White Rock, B.C. on August 23, 1998 at age 73. WALLACE - John (John-Boy) aged 69 years, passed away August 24, 1998. After a courageous six year battle with cancer. John is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Flo, son Brad (Beth), daughter Pam (Andrew), grandchildren Shannon and Adam. He is also survived by his sisters, Doris, Hazel and Myrt and his brother Alf, as well as many nieces and nephews and friends. Native of North Vancouver and an active member of Burrard Yacht Club. Special thanks to the nurses in Palliative Care at Lions Gate Hospital for their compassionate care of us all. HELFRICH - Kenneth William
Passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on August 16, 1998, at the age of 82 years. Survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Bernadette; 3 sons, Ken Jr. (Dawne), Dan (Monique) and John (Launa); and 4 daughters, Karen (Ron) Whitman, Denise (Eric) Hoyle, Lynn (Ed) Thomas and Lori (Tony) Caldwell. Also survived by 11 grandchildren, as well as several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ken was in the R.C.N. followed by life-guard duties on Vancouver beaches. Ken spent many years working for Marshall Wells Hardware in Winnipeg, Victoria and Vancouver. After his retirement he continued to work for Northern Building Supplies until his illness. Ken travelled extensively throughout over his working career and earned respect and admiration from co-workers, customers and friends. His love for the family, sense of humour and vitality for life will live on. Special thanks to Dr. Craig Bergstrom and staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Lions Gate Hospital. WYLIE - Margaret E. (Forrest). Born in North Vancouver on August 4, 1914. Passed away peacefully August 16, 1998 after a lengthy struggle with Parkinsons disease. Survived by Elmer, her loving husband of 57 years; children Karen (Dave), Marilynne (Bob), Bill, Steve; grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Predeceased by brother Harold (Eunice). MORAN - Peter. Passed away on August 16, 1998 at the age of 75. Survived by his loving wife and best friend Doreen and her family Sharon, Robert, Brian, Cheryl and Angela and 9 step-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by his sisters Mattie and Jean; brothers James and Tony; along with many friends. Peter was an avid sports fan. MURPHY - Patricia Joan (Lakey). Born in North Vancouver in 1932. Pat passed away peacefully August 8, 1998 in Tacoma, Washington. She was predeceased by her husband Matt in 1975 and son Jim in 1987. Pat resided in Puyallup for 33 years. She is survived by her children Colleen, Brent and Kelly; grandchildren Tricia and Jamie, all of Puyallup. She leaves a large family in North Vancouver and B.C. Memorial service was held in Puyallup, August 14th. Pat will be sadly missed. May you rest in peace.

PETERSON - Geoffrey Micheal, age 16. Accidentally on August 15, 1998. Geoff is loved and sadly missed by his parents Chris and Sharon; sister Sarah; grandparents Alex and Audrey Robinson; Uncle Tony; Auntie Tracey and Uncle Epeli; Uncle Roger; cousins and all his many friends. Service was held in Chilliwack on August 19, 1998. If so desired donations may be made to Children's Hospital.

PRIEST - Kathleen McGeer. Born in Vancouver on April 1, 1897. Passed away peacefully on August 17, 1998 at Evergreen House where she received exemplary care. Timmie was the last remaining of the eleven children of James and Emily McGeer, who settled in the Mount Pleasant area of Vancouver in 1888. Predeceased by her beloved husband Roy and her ten brothers and sisters. She is survived by a number of nieces and nephews into the fourth generation, to all of whom she was devoted. We will all dearly miss Aunt Timmie.

HANSEN - Daniel Brunsberg. Born in Denmark on May 27, 1909. Passed away in North Vancouver on Sunday August 2, 1998. Beloved husband of the late Ella Hansen. Survived by his loving son Neil (Susan) and his sister Ebba Hansen. Fondly remembered by his family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Boal Chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, 1505 Lillooet Rd. LIBBY - Frank Jr. Died of multiple organ failure on July 6, 1998 at the age of 58. Frank will long be remembered for his sense of humour. He was predeceased by his loving sister Jeanette and is survived by his twin brother Fred. Frank will be laid to rest alongside his mother Lydia Libby at Mountainview Cemetery where a private memorial service will be held for the family. A special thanks to the caring staff at Beacon Hill Lodge and all who visited him there.

BALDEN - Philip Tristran. Passed away peacefully in Cowichan District Hospital in Duncan, B.C. on July 27, 1998 in his 94th year. Survived by his wife Mary of Duncan; four children, Philip S. Balden of North Vancouver, Barbara Lucas of Comox, Sandra Tevely of North Vancouver and Rosemary Peterson of Cobble Hill; his brother Ashwin of West Vancouver; 15 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. BROWN - Alice Elenor. Born on August 23, 1914 in Edmonton, Alberta. Passed away July 21, 1998 in North Vancouver, B.C. Survived by her sons Ted and Bill, daughter-in-law Josephine, grandson Rory, granddaughter Tara, grandson Kieran, great-granddaughter Chenoa, great-grandson Cody, sister Pat, and cousin Eileen. The family wish to thank Dr. M. Knight for his kindness and support throughout her illness and all the staff at North Shore Home Support for their caring and feeling homecare over the past number of years. MANLEY - Ralph. Died suddenly and peacefully July 22, 1998 at Evergreen House, North Vancouver, aged 95 years. Predeceased by beloved wife Isobel in August 1969 and by dear son-in-law Doug Mans-field in 1987. Beloved father of Jimmy and Ann. Also survived by four grandchildren Sandy, Stuart (Dawn), Linda (Gerry), Heather (James) and seven great-grandchildren. Born in London, England, lived majority of his life in Montreal, retirement years in North Vancouver. Memorial service was held July 24, 1998 at St. Catherine's Church. Beloved wife to Gordon for over 50 years; much loved Mom to Keith (Cathy), Gail, Pam (Brad) and Carla (Dave); and Nana to Jenifer and Sarah, Nathan, Bryan and Andria, Erik, Caitlyn and Joanna. September 27, 1926 - July 26, 1998 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

CARTER - John Cleveland of North Vancouver. Died suddenly July 27, 1998 in a motor vehicle accident at 51 years of age. This brave, loyal and good man was a much loved husband, father, son, brother and friend. At his request he will return to the lake he loved so much to fish. All who knew him well will miss him. Survived by his wife Jeannette; three children Traci (Rick), Jenny (Scott), Ian (Jen); four grandchildren Gabriel, Damien, Ash-ley and Taylor; mother and father Gert and Dave Hallworth of Hailey-bury, Ontario; brothers Murray (Marge) of Olds, Alberta, Allen (Maggie) of Edmonton, Alberta; nephew David; niece Dawn of Olds, Alberta; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Memorial service will be held Saturday, August 1, 1998, 2 p.m. at the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver.
