KADLEC - Edward Lawrence. Born November 8, 1901. Passed away July 27, 1997 at Inglewood Lodge. Predeceased by his loving wife Georgina and eldest son James Kadlec. Survived by his son Robert (Bobbie) Kadlec, grandson Douglas James Kadlec, and granddaughter Karen Lynn Kadlec. A private family service will be held Wednesday, July 30, 1997 at 1:00 p.m. First Memorial Funeral Service.

LEISHMAN - Grace. Passed away in her 81st year on July 22, 1997. Joined her husband George (deceased June 25, 1997). Sorely missed by sons and daughter Michael, Stuart, Colin and Moira; five grandsons and three great-grandchildren. No service by her request. In lieu of flowers, donations to Diabetes Research.

MANN - Joseph Gibney. Passed away peacefully on July 25, 1997 at the age of 77. Born in Vancouver of Irish parents he is survived by Bettie his loving wife of 55 years, his daughter Janice (Bob Walker), and predeceased by his son Douglas. He will be missed by his sisters Irene (Len Postill) and Pat (Stan Ostlund), the Robertson clan, nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Joe served four years with the R.C.A.F. Since his retirement from the Men's Wear Agency business he has been a volunteer with the Senior Centre in West Vancouver. A special thank-you to all the nurses and volunteers at the Lions Gate Palliative Care Unit for their splendid care. In lieu of flowers donations, in his memory, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, West Vancouver, Unit #4 - 650 Clyde Avenue, West Vancouver, B.C. V7T 1E2. At his request, a private gathering will be held.

RIDSDALE - Reg. Born Reginald Edwin in London, England. An avowed and proud Canadian citizen. Served in England during World War II with the ADRDE under Sir John Cockcroft in the development of radar. P.Eng., former head of the Electrical and Electronics department of British Columbia Institute of Technology and author of electrical engineering texts. Served Canada with CIDA in Zambia and Sri Lanka. Longtime member and past treasurer of the Vancouver chapter of the Chaine de Rotisseurs. Greatly enjoyed his daily walks on the West Vancouver Seawall in the last years of his life. Reg was in his 80th year when he died in Vancouver General Hospital on July 25, 1997 after a serious head injury. He is survived by his loving wife Pegi; daughters Anne Mott (Geoffrey) and Marilyn Ridsdale (Jack Tomson); son Gary Ridsdale (Valerie); grandchildren Jennifer Merrifield, David and Geoffrey Mott, Lalieth, Jessie and Eryn White, Kevin and Danny Ridsdale; sister Gladys Church and family in Ontario. His intelligence, wit and style will be greatly missed by us all. There will be no funeral services at Reg's request. A celebration of his life will be held on the date which would have been his 80th birthday - Sunday, November 2, 1997, 2 - 4 p.m. RSVP before September 1, 1997 to: #303 - 2165 Argyle Avenue, West Vancouver, BC, V7V 1A5. In lieu of flowers, family would appreciate donations to the V.G.H. Neurological Intensive Care Unit or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC & Yukon.

TERESCHAK - Hannelore lost a long and difficult battle with cancer on July 25, 1997. She was born 1936 in Berlin, Germany. Predeceased by her daughter Birgit. Survived by her loving husband Anton; daughters Angela, Anja, Caren; grandson Jordan; sister and brother-in-law Klaus and Gerrit Bange, West Vancouver, sister Sibylle and Dietmar Uellner, Berlin; brother Benno and Eva Kister, Berlin; father Werner Gonschorek, as well as many friends. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 1 at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to the Lions Gate Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

IMPEY - Kathleen Marion, born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan on October 30, 1911. Passed away peacefully on July 26, 1997 at Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, B.C. Survived by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Devon Archibald of Carmel, Indiana. Special thank-you to Dr. Randsalu and the nursing staff at 2 East, Lions Gate Hospital for their care and support. No service by request.

OSEEN - Dennis passed away on July 29, 1997 in North Vancouver. Born in Lethbridge, Alberta on March 21, 1942, he graduated in Architecture from the University of Washington in 1969. He is survived by his loving children, Lane and Analise in North Vancouver; his mother Ellen; and brothers and sisters-in-law Larry and Pat, Charles and Doreen; and brothers Dean and Harold. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, August 2nd at the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 1091 West 8th Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V61 2V3.

HUGGARD - Eileen passed away July 31, 1997. Predeceased by her husband Harold. Will be sadly missed by daughter Jill (Bob) Nugent, son Mark (Erin) Huggard, five grandchildren, family and friends. Many thanks to staff at Lynn Valley Lodge for their loving care. Memorial service 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 4th, St. Clements Anglican Church, 3400 Institute Road, North Vancouver. IRLAM - Harold Watson. The family of our dear "Uncle George" announces that he passed away on July 27, 1997 at Evergreen House, North Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by his wife and best friend, Dorothy, on February 11, 1997. Survived by sisters-in-law Olive Turkington (West Vancouver), Liliane Kelly (Salt Spring Island), Dot Thomas (White Rock), Ruby Thomas (Vancouver), many nieces, nephews, and friends. George was very proud of working for the City of Vancouver for over 25 years, and loved animals, especially his dogs. Funeral service Tuesday, August 5th at 12:30 p.m. at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver, B.C. Interment to follow at North Vancouver Cemetery. Memorial donations in George's memory to S.P.C.A. appreciated.

JOHNSEN - Karl Olav born May 6, 1914 in Oslo, Norway. Passed away May 4, 1997 at Lions Gate Hospital. Karl emigrated to Toronto, June, 1954 with four children, and moved to B.C. in 1982. Karl is survived by his loving wife Ragnhild; daughters Bjorg, Tone (Graham); sons Robert (Wendy), Wilfred (Antoinetta); nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Private family memorial service was held May 23, 1997.

HILL - Florence Mary, peacefully in her sleep during the night between July 18-19, 1997. Flo was predeceased by her husband Gilbert Urquhart, and is survived by a sister Hilda in Adelaide, South Australia, and daughter Joan (Ron) Davie of North Vancouver. Thanks to the many doctors, staff at Lions Gate Hospital 4 West, and North Shore Health and Home Support.

MOIR - Graham Scott. Suddenly on 19 July 1997 aged 36 years. Predeceased by his father Dr. Robert Scott Moir. Beloved son of Dr. Sheila Carrothers and dear brother of David Lindsay Moir. Survived by his parents Brian and Sheila Carrothers, brother David Lindsay Moir, Douglas (Marie-Elle) and Robert (Doris) Carrothers, and Linda (Gary) Manzer, and his much loved cousin Anne Reid. SCHIECK - Ragnar (Bill) passed away in Kelowna, B.C. on July 21, 1997 at the age of 86 years. Survived by his loving wife Marie of Kelowna, B.C.; daughter Phyllis Brown (Peter) of Kelowna; sons Larry Schieck (Karen) of Prince George, and Harry Schieck (Deanna) of Mission, B.C.; and by five grandchildren. BALL - Betty. Passed away July 22, 1997 at the age of 67. Predeceased by her husband Bob on July 2, 1965. Survived by children Rick, Tom and Donna Burns; sister Simone Pack, and brother Doug Woods; grandchildren Bryan, Darcie, Charlene, Jesse and Misha. CAMP - Alan A. Passed away at Lions Gate Hospital on July 21, 1997. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Jean; children Lynda (Don) Viner, Michael (Pamela); grandchildren Scott, Ryan and Samantha. Private family services were held. COUSINS - Robert Joseph. Passed away Sunday, July 20, 1997. He was born on May 16, 1909 in England, where he met and married Lena Hobbs on December 16, 1950. In 1955 he emigrated to Canada.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Lena; children Lorraine (Dennis) and Robert (Candace); and grandchildren Nicholas, Bryan and Derek. A remembrance will be held in his garden, which he dearly loved, at his North Vancouver home. No service by request.

FIELD - William James (Bill), born February 21, 1932 in Brandon, Manitoba. Passed away suddenly on July 21, 1997 at the Vancouver General Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife Irene. Bill will be sadly missed by his sister Irene Anderson of Port Hadlock, Washington; as well as many family and friends that loved him. No service by request. GRAHAM - Paulette (nee Hood). Born April 19, 1908. Passed away peacefully July 16, 1997 at age 89. Predeceased by her husband Roy; son David; sisters Edna, Gertrude, Elsie; brothers Alan, Jim, Henry and Alfred. She is survived by her loving nieces and nephews, sister-in-law Maggie Hood and daughter Marilyn (Tom) Martin and many great friends. A gathering, of her friends and family, to celebrate her life was held at the homestead on Tuesday, July 22, 1997 between 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at 657 West 16th St, North Vancouver.

RYCKMAN - Albert John of North Vancouver. Born in Manitoba, August 13, 1911. Passed away peacefully July 20, 1997 at Lions Gate Hospital in his 86th year. Albert was a retired fisherman and life member of the Bowen Island Rod and Gun Club. Survived by his loving wife, of 64 years, Norah, son Neil, daughter Sandra, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, four sisters, many nieces and nephews, and many friends. A strong man with a good sense of humour, Albert was a very loving husband, father and grandfather. The family wishes to thank the nursing staff of Lions Gate Hospital 7th floor East for their wonderful kindness and consideration. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Bowen Island Community Church Memorial Building Fund. Memorial to be held Sunday, July 27 at Bowen Island Community Church, 12:00 noon.

WINCH - Elizabeth Margaret. Born Coatridge, Scotland on November 28, 1922. Died peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on July 19, 1997. No service by request.
