MILLS - John Charles Patrick (Pat Major (DSO). Passed away June 24, 2000. Pat was born February 22, 1915 in Quebec City to Lt. Col. James Edgar Mills (DSO) and Mildred Mills. He was predeceased by his wife Trudy, brothers James, William and sister Betty. Survived by son James (Dorothy), daughters Briar (Doug) Ballou, Diane (Ron) Ruffel and grandchildren Kristy, John, Jennifer, Jason and Karina, as well as sister Connie Seagram. He will be sorely missed by his many other relatives and friends. Pat served overseas with the Canadian Army Tanks Divisions, Three Rivers Regiment and the British Columbia Dragoons. He received his DSO for his efforts at the Battle of Ortona in Italy. Pat's careers after his military service included: Goodyear, McLeod, Young, and Weir and then commercial salmon fishing on the west coast as Captain of the "Lili Marlene". No flowers by request, donations made to a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Memorial service to be held at 12:30 on Saturday, July 8, 2000 at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver B.C. 922-1221

THOMPSON - Margaret Helen (1920-2000). Longtime resident of North Vancouver, passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 24, 2000. Predeceased by her loving husband Gordon, sister Joyce and brother Ray. Survived by her daughter Gail Macaulay; sons Gordon Thompson and Michael Thompson (Erlinda); grandchildren Wendi and Cindy; her great-grandson Jeffrey; brother Harold Rolfe (Elma); and by other family members. Lovingly remembered by her church family and friends. A funeral service will be held at St. Agnes Anglican Church, 530 E. 12th Street, North Vancouver, V7L 2K4 on Thursday, June 29, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Agnes Anglican Church. RAMPLING - Nora Beatrice (nee Lindsay). Born January 7, 1926 in England. Passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 19, 2000 after a long battle with many ailments. Nora was the daughter of Edward and Florence Lindsay and was predeceased by her brothers Alf, Jack, and Edward and sister Pem. She will be dearly missed by her devoted husband Robert and sons Alan (Irene), Mark (Kathy), and Tony (Simone), along with her sister May Edis, brother Ken (Iris), and many nieces, nephews, cousins and grandchildren, both in Canada and in the U.K. Special thanks to the staff at Lions Gate Hospital and Evergreen House for their wonderful care. Memorial services will be held at 7:30 p.m on Wednesday, July 5, 2000 at St. Andrews &St. Stephens Church (27th and Chesterfield) in North Vancouver and in Walsall England. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the Canadian Red Cross or a charity of your choice. All who knew her will miss her laughter, courage, and friendliness but will know that she is now at last free of pain and should be fondly remembered at her best.

CHRISTIANSEN - Marjorie (Pudge). In loving memory of Marjorie (Pudge) Christiansen of Evergreen House, North Vancouver. Passed away June 26, 2000 at the age of 94 years. She is predeceased by husband Axel, daughter Joan Marks and son-in-law Harry Marks. Pudge will be lovingly remembered by son Harold (Fern) Christiansen of Alberta Beach, grandchildren Len Christiansen of Vancouver, Al (Jan) Christiansen of Edmonton, Carol (Nestor) Beztilny of St. Albert, Edie Marshall of Red Deer, Robert Marks and Ed Marks of Edmonton and 13 great-grandchildren. Memorial service to be held at a later date.

LITTLE - Ralph Douglas. Passed away suddenly July 1, 2000. Ralph, a resident of North Vancouver for the past 52 years, was born in Wainwright, Alberta on February 12, 1915. He had a 42 year career in the lumber industry with MacMillan Bloedel Ltd., and its predecessor companies. Ralph lived an active life for 85 years and never became old. He was a wonderful father and a "Cool" grandfather. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Yvonne in 1991. Ralph will be greatly missed by his sons Douglas, Raymond (Linda) and Rodney (Debbie); grandchildren Shannon, Natasha, Gregory and Dean. He will be fondly remembered by his sister-in-law Joyce; nephew Duncan (Carole); nieces Patricia (Larry) and Lynda; grandnieces Andrea and Erica; grandnephew Geoffrey; longtime friends Marion and Jim Vanstone; many other old and new friends. A celebration of Ralph's life will be held at the Lynn Valley Full Gospel Church at 29th &Lynn Valley Rd in North Vancouver at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 11, 2000 . In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

WALTON - Richard George (Joe) of Kamloops, B.C. Age 78. Passed away suddenly July 1, 2000. Joe lived most of his life in Lynn Valley, North Vancouver before retiring to Kamloops. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of 53 years; four sons David (Kelly) of Burns Lake, Stephen (Gail) of Kamloops, Mickey of North Vancouver and Gerry of Richmond; seven grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Grace (1987) and brother John (1999). Survived by sisters Elizabeth (Betty) Robinson of Burnaby, Elaine (Gunther) Sorgatz of Cloverdale, Joyce Deans of Barrhead, Alberta and one brother Jim (Lillian) of Richmond. No funeral by request.

KENNELLY - Edith. Aged 77. Passed away July 4, 2000. Survived by (ex husband) John Kennelly, son Thomas Sr., grandson Thomas Jr., granddaughter Charmaine. Will be very much missed by loving family and friends. Memorial service will be held on Monday, July 10, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1505 Lillooet Rd, North Vancouver, B.C. BROWN - Elmer Willis. Born December 12, 1914. Passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on July 5, 2000. Elmer is survived by his loving daughter Lynna (Kevan), and many friends. MARK - Mary Louise. Passed away last Sunday, July 2, 2000 in her home in West Vancouver. She is survived by her son Richard, and will be missed dearly by her brother Max; sisters Eleanor and Grace, and her many nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her second son, Mike. She now joins him in peace. From her upbringing in rural Saskatchewan, through her years of raising her boys in North Vancouver, to her years running her mining exploration company in Vancouver, she provided love, commitment and support to friends, co-workers and family. We will all miss her laughter and remember her spirit. SINCLAIR HELEN DOWNIE, (Nan) Passed away peacefully July 3, 2000 in her 100th year. She was predeceased by her husband Harry Lister, and her son Harry Fraser. Survived by her children, David (Rose), Jim (Joan), and Don (Colleen), twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral service to be held at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, July 10, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. Thank you to all the staff at Evergreen House 2 South for all their care and support over the last two years.

LONG - Dorothy May. Passed away Sunday, July 2, 2000 at the age of 80. Predeceased by her son Dick and her husband of 52 years, Bud, and brothers Dick and Ford Smith. She will be dearly missed by son Ron (Debbie); grandchildren Clayton (Renee), Jennifer and Jeffrey; great-grandchild Aidan; sisters Joanne (Tommy) McIver, Ruth Storey and Valerie Cue; brother Bill (Carol) Smith; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her most loving and giving spirit will be deeply missed by all, knowing she will rest in peace. DOUGHTY - Jessica Joyce, November 22, 1985 - June 22, 2000. Suddenly, but peacefully, at B.C. Children's Hospital with her family at her side, after a lifetime challenged by Friedreich's Ataxia. Predeceased by her faithful companion Spike. Lovingly remembered and survived by her parents Michael and Vickie Doughty, grandparents Jim and Pat McCurrach, George Petrescue (honorary), Steph Doughty, aunts and uncles, Kathleen and Leigh Barrett, Rob McCurrach and Daphne Gagnon, Susan and John Harley, Brenda and Hans Opelka (honorary), Susan Ernst, Rich and Karen Doughty, Doug Doughty and Brenda Doughty; cousins Meghan and Allison Harley, Jamie, Kevin and Jonathon McCurrach (their mother Robbin), Jason and Simon Gagnon, Brad Pearce, Ryan and Jordan Doughty, Amanda and Rebecca Doughty, and Kelly Doughty. Special friends Lindsay, Manpreet and Jamie. Jessica also leaves many friends too numerous to acknowledge here, including those of the animal kingdom. Jessica would not allow her physical limitations to prevent her from participating in a wide variety of activities including baseball, swimming, horseback riding, fishing, arts and crafts, gardening, and most recently, wheelchair soccer. She also worked her way through the Girl Guide Programme, and on June 4, 2000 was presented with her Canada Cord. In her "spare time" Jessica was a voracious reader. Jessica attended Rainbow Preschool, Renfrew Elementary, Nootka Elementary, and had just completed Grade Nine at John Oliver Secondary where she achieved Honour Roll status. Special thanks to all those at Canuck P(a)lace, B.C. Children's Hospital and John Oliver Secondary School, especially Dr. Barlow, Eric, Carol, Cindy B, Sheila and Nancy. CARGNELLI - Peter George. Born in Venice, Italy on December 4, 1932. Passed away following a very brave battle with caner at Lions Gate Hospital on Wednesday, June 28, 2000. Survived by his loving wife Kathy; children, Maria-Alena Crystal (Dave) and Mike Cargnelli; grandchildren, Danica and Austin Crystal. Pete will be sadly missed by his family and by his many friends. Survived by her loving family: sisters Ethel and Elna; brother Allen; daughters Violet Morris and Elaine Harris (John); son Grant Lunggren (Darlene); stepdaughter Audrey Mahony; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
