Scott, Dr. James (Jay) Montague FRCPC
With extreme sadness, Dr. Jay Scott’s family announces his sudden passing on Saturday, September 22nd, 2012 in Kelowna, British Columbia. Jay will be deeply missed by his loving wife and best friend Deborah Vanston Scott. He leaves behind children Ryan and Elise Scott from a former marriage, and step-children Matt and Tamara Phillips. He will be dearly missed by his close sister, Tia Scott as well as his life-time friend Erv Schill, and several other friends in Mexico, Ecuador, Saskatchewan, Ontario, and British Columbia.
Jay resided in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where he had worked as a radiologist for Associated Radiologists since 1999. Jay’s list of credentials represented a small fraction of his brilliant mind. He studied medicine at the University of Alberta and at the University of Calgary. He had two Fellowships in Neuroradiology; the first from the University of British Columbia, and the second from Harvard University; and trained in pathologic radiology at Walter Reed Medical Army Centre. Before practicing in Saskatchewan, Jay worked as a radiologist in British Columbia.
Jay loved to travel, especially anyplace near the ocean. He was a physician of Hyperbaric and Diving Medicine, an Instructor Trainer and a Medical First Aid Instructor with PADI, and held an Associate Professional Membership with Divers Alert network (DAN). He always said, “I like blowing bubbles”.
Although recently retired, Jay planned to continue practicing on a part-time basis. In August he attended a Neuroradiology conference in Santa Fe, NM. From Santa Fe he travelled with his wife to Costa Rica and Isla Mujeres, Mexico; his favorite vacation sites. Jay passed away a few days after returning home to Canada while visiting Kelowna.
Jay was cremated on September 27th. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. No memorial was held per his request. Many thanks to the paramedics, KGH Trauma Unit and ICU doctors and nurses for their thoughtfulness and caring treatment. In lieu of flowers, donations, if desired, can be made online at or by phone: 919-684-2948 ext. 611.

Location: Springfield Funeral Home
Jamin Cockram was a larger than life type of guy. He was always smiling and doing something outrageous to make people laugh. He will be missed by many family and friends but none more so than his son, Jordan Tremblay. Jamin is now joining his loving mother, Nancy as an angel in heaven and together the two of them will be watching over all who were blessed enough to know and love them. When his mother died, Jamin wrote these words, and they will be with us forever:

I am of the nature to grow old,
There is no escaping growing old.

I am of the nature to have ill-health,
There is no escaping having ill-health.

I am of the nature to die,
There is no escaping death.

All that is dear to me and everyone I love are of the nature to change,
There is no way to escape being separated from them.

My actions are of my only true belongings,
I cannot escape the consequences of my actions,
My actions are the ground on which I stand.

By Jamin Cockram.

Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, April 28th at 1:00 pm, Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Road, Kelowna, BC. If you wish to send a condolence, post photos or share a memory, please scroll down the page to the area called “Share Your Condolences.”

October 7, 1952 — May 7, 2013
Service: Monday, May 20, 2013 at 10:00 am
Location: Springfield Funeral Home
Teresa Kathleen Tetreau (nee Parker) passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at the age of 60. She went peacefully at Kelowna General Hospital with her husband of almost 39 years by her side. She was predeceased by her parents, Roli and Macci Parker, and two brothers, Vincent and Patrick Parker. She will be forever loved and missed by her husband Dennis, daughter Jennifer (Nick) Moffatt, son Kyle Tetreau, and precious 5-month old granddaughter Ellie Rose Moffatt; sister Barbara (Dave) Howell; brothers Mike (Chris Broatch) Parker, Brian Parker, and Gary (Michelle Smits) Parker; sister-in-law Jeanie Parker; Uncle Ted Parker of Bridport, England; brother-in-law Ward (Anita) Tetreau; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; and a multitude of friends.
Teresa was born October 7, 1952 in Victoria, BC, and grew up in logging camps on the BC coast. She was an outstanding student, attending school in Vancouver, graduating from Point Grey High School in 1970 and then the University of British Columbia in 1974. She was also an exceptional athlete, holding BC high school track and field records, and competing on provincial and national field hockey teams. She met Dennis in Burnaby and they were married one year minus a day later on August 24, 1974. Jennifer was born in Vancouver in 1980 before they moved to Kelowna, BC, where Kyle was born in 1983. The family spent six years in Golden, BC, before moving back to Kelowna for good in 1989. Teresa was a voracious reader, a love she passed on to her daughter, and worked in public and school libraries until she and Dennis retired in 2009. Teresa was a woman of many, many talents, including sketching, painting, soapstone carving, scrapbooking, photography, and cooking. She was also an accomplished seamstress, making her sister Barbara’s wedding dress, her own, her daughter’s, and her niece Christy’s. She loved reading in the Okanagan sunshine, with her favourite music playing and a glass of wine in hand. Together with Dennis, Teresa enjoyed golfing, watching Jennifer play volleyball, going for walks with Kyle, playing cards, cheering for the Vancouver Canucks, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Teresa was known for her intelligence, energy, warmth, generosity, tenacity, sense of adventure, passion for life, and meticulous grammar. She was so proud of her daughter and son, and especially her new granddaughter, and she positively lit up when she spoke of them. Teresa was a brilliant, patient, and endlessly loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She will be remembered always.
The family would like to thank the staff at KGH for helping make Teresa’s last days so comfortable. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Canadian Angelman Syndrome Society, or the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s Run for the Cure team “Teece’s Troopers”.
A memorial service and reception will be held at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd, Kelowna, at 10:00 am on Monday, May 20, 2013.
