Huntley, Noah
Friday, 31 Oct 2003
Dec. 19, 1970 - Oct. 31, 2003

After an unexpected but courageous battle with cancer, Noah died peacefully at the age of 32.
He will be forever loved and missed by his wife and soul mate, Diana, of 9 years, parents Mike and Marilyn Huntley, sister Shannon (Michael & Alexei), In-laws Bill and Annie Dreyer, James (Melanie, Faye & Luke), special friends Carl and Becky McLennan (Olivia & Ava) and numerous other dear friends and family.
Noah grew up on a small hobby farm in Lac La Hache, BC, where he fell in love with the outdoors.
The natural choice for an occupation was in forestry, which he earned a Diploma and his Degree.
He practiced forestry for the past 12 years all over BC, eventually settling in Vernon.
Noah loved all sports, but his ultimate passion was hockey, which he played since he was a child.
He became a devoted Canucks Fan and truly enjoyed coaching the sport.
Noah loved spending time with his family and friends and will be truly loved, missed and remembered by all. The Huntley's would like to thank all the family, friends, nurses and doctors who visited and assisted with the care and emotional support during the past few months.
A special thank you to Dr. Pritchett, Dr. Johnson, Dr. Hardy and all the staff at the Cancer Centre for all their compassion during Noah's treatment and to Chrissy Stahl and Kara Hoffman for the strength.
There will be a gathering at Paddlewheel Community Hall at 7813 Okanagan Landing Road, Vernon on November 15, 2003 at 2pm for all those who wish to attend.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lorali Comfort Fund or the Foundation Cancer Care at the Tom McMurtry & Peter Baerg Cancer Centre located at the Vernon Jubilee Hospital.

Kirkpatrick-Sweezey (nee Casselman), Lynne
Saturday, 03 Jan 2004

Passed away peacefully at age 62. Lynne’s gregarious personality and kindness to all she knew will always be remembered.
She was a true friend.
She was a loving companion to Chester and a caring mother to his daughters, Kelly and Leslie and Gramma Lynne to Cody.
To her brothers Paul and Ross (Pam) and sister Wendy (Dan), she was a rock who was always there in life’s sometimes stormy seas.
Lynne was a devoted aunt to Jonathan, Nicholas, Kevin and Kaleigh.
Lynne fought many battles with illness in her life and was a true Braveheart and will forever remain in our hearts.
Grateful thanks to all the wonderful caregivers at the 100 Mile hospital who supported her through her last month.
There will be no service at Lynne’s request.
A gathering will be held in the spring to remember Lynne.

Park, Douglas
Sunday, 28 Dec 2003

Born Mar. 29, 1954, in Quesnel, B.C. Passed away Dec. 28, 2003, in Paracuru, Brazil.
Survived by daughters Sarah and Mindy; parents Tom and Caroline; sisters Betty and Rhonda; brother Murray; niece, nephews and other family and friends.
Doug was a “rock” in many people’s lives.
He was strong and a source of strength.
If you were lucky enough to have Doug in your life, then you were well cared for.
He was a very good listener, heard with a perceptive ear, was able to understand what people really meant and to be empathetic.
He was genuinely interested in people.
Life was not black and white to Doug.
He had a grasp on its complexity and faced any problem or obstacle head on with courage and honesty.
He met life’s challenges well.
His energy and enthusiasm for living seemed unlimited.
His interests were wide and varied.
He loved to travel, was an excellent photographer, enjoyed fishing, boating, camping, loved his computer, his cars and motorcycles, learning about new things, and people.
He ran a successful business, worked hard and played hard.
He maximized whatever he did and had an intuitive knack for finding the value in things.
For Doug, a treasure was something that had been used and abused and even discarded by others that he could restore to its original value.
He didn’t look at what something lacked, his focus was always on what it could be.
For Doug, the glass was half full.
Tom and Caroline Park and family would like to express thanks to everyone for their love and support.
Thank you for the prayers, cards, phone calls and flowers.
Our lives have been deeply touched by each of you.
