Michael Richard Cormier
January 17, 1957 - December 8, 2009

It is with great sadness that we announce that Mike passed away peacefully after a brief and courageous battle with Cancer.

He is survived by his son Andrew of Edmonton, mother Celina, brother Jean and sister Lisa of Ottawa, brother Gary of Moncton, and predeceased by his father Joe Cormier of Moncton (1999).

Mike was born in Halifax, NS and was raised in Moncton, NB. During his 25 year career with Canada Post he lived in Edmonton, Alta, Ottawa, Ont and Kamloops, BC where he succumbed to his illness.

Mike’s generous and friendly soul was a quality that stood out. He had a great sense of humour and was always willing to help others. His passions included music, nature, traveling, softball and he enjoyed home projects.

An informal Celebration of Life with family and friends took place at Mike’s residence in Kamloops. Everyone reminisced about Mike’s kind and friendly nature, his love of life and the many close personal ties with work colleagues, friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society in Mike’s name would be greatly appreciated.

December 21, 1928 - December 2, 2009

Blain McLeod of Kamloops, B.C. passed away December 2, 2009 at 80 years of age.

He was predeceased by his loving wife, Margaret (2008), and a daughter, Debbie (1980).

He is survived by his remaining children, Thelma Urton, Donna Porteous, Charyle Jonson and Gordon McLeod.

He enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing in order to feed his family, as well as intrepid efforts on his trapline in extreme winter weather. He worked as a clever machinist for the Prince George Citizen newspaper for over 35 years and regularly contributed a witty adage to the daily 'Now Hear This'. Charlie and the love of his life Nettie, shared their passion for travel, music, dancing, and nature, frequently venturing on bus trips and drives to local points of interest. When not travelling they enjoyed renovating homes.

He welcomed friends and family into his home and life offering assistance when needed, safe haven when required, and a place to share a cup of tea and good laughter upon their arrival. Strangers were greeted by Charlie with a warm hello and money for a cup of coffee or a meal. Friends and family were greeted with a handshake, a kiss on the cheek, a smile that could light up their souls, a lending ear, and fatherly wisdom when deemed necessary.
