February 22, 1931 - February 6, 2010

Stanley Albert Jackson of Kamloops, BC, passed away on Saturday, February 6, 2010 at 78 years of age.

He is survived by his loving sons Chris (Cindy) Jackson and James (Debby) Jackson, all of Kamloops, two grandchildren Brent and Tyler Jackson; and his sisters Marion Jackson of Kamloops and Dorothy (Ralph) Knorr of Kelowna.

Stanley was born and raised in the Kamloops area, living here his entire life. Stan enjoyed hobbies such as 4-H Club, fishing, hunting and generally just the Great Outdoors. He worked for the City of Kamloops for 32 years before retiring in 1994.

Special thanks to the caring staff of the Hamlets at Westsyde.

Precious are the memories he leaves behind.

A Celebration of Stan’s life will be held on 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010, in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive. Donations in Stan’s memory may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Foundation, 1589 Sutherland Ave., Kelowna, BC V1Y 5V7. Flowers gratefully declined.

Edmund “Eddie” Max Marini
September 12, 1934 - February 9, 2010

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and best friend. Eddie passed away peacefully with his family at his side on February 9, 2010 at the age of 75 years.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Dorothy Marini of 52 years of marriage; his daughters Delena (Sean) O’Toole of Kamloops and Brenda (Ross) Thompson of Kamloops; cherished grandchildren Devon & Eddy O’Toole and Alyssa & Jocelyn Thompson; siblings Patricia (Paul), Mitch (Leigh), Rita (Tom), Rose and Bernie; sister in-law Margaret Marini and brother in-law Eric Egely, many nieces and nephews, as well as Papa’s dog Max.

Predeceased by his parents Ralph and Juliene, brothers Peter, John, Gilbert (Gill), and sister in-law Lea Egely.

Eddie was born in Kennedy, Saskatchewan and later moved to Kamloops with his family to join his father’s construction company, R. Marini and Sons. He was also involved with brother John’s Glass company and later with Newport Construction. Eddie met the love of his life, Dorothy Martin and they were married on January 18, 1958. Ed was a kind, non-judgemental person who didn’t have a negative thing to say about anything or anyone. He was a loving, caring man to anyone who came into his life. He enjoyed many beautiful summers at Kamloops Lake with his family at the cabins he built.


The family would like to offer a special thanks to the BC Ambulance Service, Emergency Ward, and all the loving Angels up in I.C.U. at R.I.H., as well as Dr. Persat and Dr. Hanson.

Prayers will be recited at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2826 Bank Road, on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 7:00 PM.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the church on Monday, February 15, 2010 at 10:00 am, with Monsignor Jerry Desmond, Celebrant.

Donations in memory of Eddie may be made to the Royal Inland Hospital Foundation, 311 Columbia St., Kamloops BC V2C 2T1.

Edith Felske
August 19, 1915 - February 8, 2010

Edith Felske (Abrey) of Kamloops, BC passed away on Monday, February 8, 2010, at 94 years of age.

Left with special memories are her loving children Kent (Gretta) Felske of Nanaimo BC, and Duff (Karen) Felske of Kamloops BC.6 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren.

Edith was predeceased by her loving husband Clarence Felske in 2003.

Edith was born in Glenwood, Manitoba. She married her childhood friend Clarence on March 4, 1936. They farmed in Saskatchewan for 20 years and had 2 sons Kent and Duff. In 1956, the family moved to BC where Clarence and Edith settled and raised their family. Edith always took great pride in her flower and vegetable gardens which she will greatly enjoy doing again in the paradise. She is

remembered for her hospitality and generous spirit,and will always be fondly thought of by her family for the love and devotion that she showed to them. She demonstrated her zeal to Jehovah by putting him first in her life and served him faithfully for 54 years.

As a family we would like to express sincere thanks to all of the friends for their love and support as well as the wonderful staff at The Hamlets in Westsyde for their care and compassion.

A Memorial Service will take place at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 779 Franklin Road with Milton Hanson officiating

Jane Fletcher
May 3, 1958 - February 15, 2010

Mrs. L. Jane Fletcher (nee Merriam) of Kamloops BC passed away suddenly on Monday, February 15, 2010 in Grande Cache, Alberta at the age of 51.

Laura Jane Fletcher was born in Oakville, Ontario on May 3, 1958 to proud parents Dr. Reginald Grant Merriam and Marion Merriam (nee MacRobert). Jane worked for 20 years as a bus driver for Oakville Transit and GO Transit in the GTA. After moving to New Minas, Nova Scotia, she followed one of her dreams and opened her very own B&B, “The Whispering Pines.” Eventually Jane lovingly moved to Kamloops to be closer and help raise her Grandbabies. While in Kamloops, Jane worked for the Kamloops Transit System and was a familiar face around 5 Star Dog Training, as well as Kapa Dance on the North Shore. Jane was passionate about her loyal dogs, horseback riding, camping, and making people laugh. As an incredible source of strength, shoulder to lean on, and that extra pair of hands to always help out, Jane will be sorely missed and graciously remembered by her appreciative family and friends.

Jane is survived by her loving husband Bentley Fletcher; her mother Marion Merriam, sister Lissa, daughter Chelsea Mogridge, son Ryan “Scott” Strzalkowski, and stepson Richard Fletcher. Jane will also be missed by her six grandchildren, Divinity, Taylor, Rhys, Indigo, Xavier and Jake. She was predeceased by her father Grant Merriam.

Because she loved Life she has no sorrow in death

Please join the family for a Funeral Service to celebrate Jane’s life in Kamloops BC, where she lived and loved, at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 20, 2010 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Harry Bicknell officiating. Viewing will take place prior to the service from 1:00 to 1:45 pm in the Rosewood Room at Kamloops Funeral Home.

Donations in memory of Jane may be made to the Kamloops S.P.C.A., 1211-8th St., Kamloops BC V2B 2Y3 or the charity of your choice, in lieu of flowers.

Robert “Reg” Birmingham
April 11, 1931 - February 20, 2010

In loving memory of Robert “Reg” Birmingham who has gone to join his parents Michael and Marguerite, brothers Roy and Mike, and sisters Margaret, Linn and Betty. Together again.

Reg is survived by his beautiful wife of 58 years Margaret, sons Bob (Dawn), Rick (Susan), and Gerry (Edith); grandchildren Nicole, Mike, Shauna, Jamie, Kimberly, Erin, Sarah, Sam and Maggie, step grandchildren Tilly and James; beautiful great grandchildren Zephyr, Casey, Shannon, Simon and Westley.

Reg brought joy and peace to our lives by first finding peace and serenity in his own.

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference.

49 years, one day at a time.

Our hearts would be broken but they are too filled with love for this good man. Greatly missed, forever cherished.

Thanks to the staff at the Royal Inland Hospital, special thanks to the doctors and the nursing staff at the Dialysis Unit for their years of care and compassion. Also thanks to the staff of the Respite Unit at Ponderosa Lodge

October 1, 1933 – February 24, 2010

God called Rosario Bossio home suddenly on February 24, 2010. He will be reunited in heaven with his loving wife, Ortenzia, who predeceased him on April 12, 2008.

He leaves to cherish his memory his sons, Mike and Augie (Suzanne) together with four grandchildren; Tenzi and Ross; Angela and Lisa. He is also survived by one sister in Italy as well as many nieces and nephews in Italy and Canada.

Rosario was born on October 1, 1933 in Lago Cosenza, Italy. He was married in 1953; and then in 1966 he immigrated to Kamloops with his family. Rosario worked for Floritto Egg Farms, then at Balco Forest Products and finally, the last 20 years of his career, at Weyerhaueser Sawmill. During his retirement he cared for his ailing wife while still growing a large garden and making wine and sausages every fall. Rosario was happiest sitting at his kitchen table with family and friends sharing stories, food and wine. He always shared the bounty of his garden with everyone. He spent the last two years at Pine Grove Care Centre and his family is grateful for the care and support that he received from the staff of Pine Grove. Thank you to all, and thanks to Dr. Howie for his compassionate care.

Prayers will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday, February 28, 2010 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 635 Tranquille Road, Kamloops, BC.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, March 1, 2010 in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, with Reverend Father Peter Hoan Nguyen, Celebrant. Following the service, Rosario will be interred to rest at the Evergreen Mausoleum in Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rosario’s memory to the charity of your choice.
