February 14, 1928 – July 28, 2010

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Prudence “Prue” Levenia Boone. Left to grieve this loving Mother, Grandmother and Aunt are her children Richard Burnett (Shirley) and Barbara Sherman (Clarence), grandchildren Lisa Sherman (Kevin McLoughlin), Stephanie Cook (Willy), Jennifer Sherman, Angela Sherman, David Sherman and Buddy Burnett, great grandchildren Alex, Ryan, Kate Cook & Kaylee Smale, and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Mum was predeceased by her first husband Byron C. Burnett, her second husband John “Vincent” Boone, her parents Elizann & Joshua Hiltz, her brothers Roderick and Donald Beers and Joshua Hiltz, her sisters Beth Redsone, Doris Duplisea and Millie Shannon. Mum was also predeceased by all of her brothers in-law and sisters in-law of her own family as well as her first and second husbands families.

Mum was born in Berry Mills NB on February 14, 1928. She lived in several small communities in New Brunswick before moving to Edmonton Alberta and then on to Kamloops BC.

Mum was a loving Mother and Grandmother.

We will miss you always!

We would like to thank Dr. Eccleston and the wonderful staff at Ridgeview Lodge.

Daisy Belle Allan
November 15, 1919 - July 18, 2010

Daisy Belle Allan of Kamloops passed away on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at 91 years of age.

She will always be remembered by her loving boys, Fred Jr. (Liza Jane) of Langley BC, Ray (Grace & family) of Vernon BC, Don (Marilynn) of Kamloops BC, and Wayne & family of Kamloops; 15 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren; brother Ray Miller of Clinton; sisters Marg, Dot, Doreen and Ethel; the Tressiera Family, the Miller Family, The McNeil Family, the Hances Family, and the Grinder Family.

Daisy Belle was born on the Big Bar Ranch in Clinton BC on November 15, 1919, and was married to Fred Allan for 66 years. Mother stayed at home as a homemaker, raising her four boys and many others. She loved her horses and one in particular grabbed her fancy, “Mo.” She also tremendously enjoyed her yearly trips to Yuma, Arizona with her husband Fred. Daisy Belle was indeed a wonderful and caring Mother and would bake those terrific buns at Christmas time.

We will surely miss her and she will always be in our thoughts.

A Service of Remembrance will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, August 7, 2010 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive.

Bettyanne Albinson Andrew
August 15, 1949 - July 31, 2010

Bettyanne passed away peacefully on July 31, 2010 at the age of 60 years after a lengthy courageous battle with cancer. Her family was by her side.

Bettyanne is survived by her loving husband Ron of 10 year, daughters Sharlene and Rachelle Andrew, son Devin Andrew, sisters Hazel (Leo) Zelinski, Shirley (Arthur) Andrew, and brother Duane (Monica) Farrar. Bettyanne also has 7 nieces and nephews.

Bettyanne is predeceased by her parents Bert and Helen Farrar and her first husband Dwight Andrew.

The family would like to thank Drs. Hollman and Tevendale, as well as Janice MacDonald and all the staff at the RIH Cancer Clinic in Kamloops, B.C.. Many thanks to the wonderful comforting staff at the Kamloops Hospice House.

A Celebration of Life will be held for Bettyanne at the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday August 5th, 2010 at 11:00 AM with a tea to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Memorial Hospice Home would be greatly appreciated, in memory of Bettyanne.

Marjorie Ann Danielis
January 16, 1924 - August 3, 2010

Marjorie Ann Danielis (Mounsey), nee: Bland, of Kamloops passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2010 at the age of 86 years old at Royal Inland Hospital. She is survived by her loving husband William Danielis; sons John Ettiene, Darrell (Moira) Mounsey; daughters Cathy Peters, Deborah Hilts, June Sitar, Lilly Billy Benson (Tex); sister, Joan Barz (Art); numerous foster children, nephews and nieces, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband Alfred Mounsey, mother Freda Bland, brother Peter Bland and niece Shirley Barz.

A Service of Remembrance to honour Marjorie’s life will be held on Friday, August 6, 2010 at 11:00 am at the Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Bill Kelly officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Children's Hospital Foundation, 938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver, BC V5Z 4H4.

Harry Taylor
April 21, 1922 - December 20, 2007

Harry Taylor of Kamloops passed away on December 20, 2007 at 85 years of age. He is survived by his loving daughter Ellen Schaffer of Kamloops, grandchildren Carolynn Schaffer and Allen ( Stacie ) Schaffer both of Kamloops, great granddaughter Katelyn.

Harry is predeceased by his wife Joan in 1986, his father Harry in 1949, his mother Elsie in 1950 and his son in law Stephen in 2003.

Harry was born in Winnipeg in 1922. He moved to BC after falling in love with the Province when stationed here after joining the Navy. He was very proud to be a veteran of WWII. Harry met and married his wife Joan of 44 years in Victoria, BC. Upon moving to Kamloops in 1961, he worked in the maintenance department at Royal Inland Hospital for 20 years, retiring in 1985. Harry was always active and enjoyed living life to the fullest. He spent many summers with his family at his cabin in Knouffe Lake. Harry enjoyed cycling, hiking and was an active volunteer splitting his time with both the Irish Society and the Humane Society. Harry loved meeting new people and had many close friends and was always available to help others in need. He was also honoured to be a member of the Soroptimist Club. As a father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend he was loved by all and will be terribly missed.

Special thanks to Dympna and Sean Maguire for their friendship, love and support to the community nurses the home and community support team, Cariboo Manor both staff and residents. Also the family would like to extend special gratitude and love to the staff at Marjorie Willoughby Snowden Hospice Home for all their immediate and extending love and support.

William "Bill" Bitterman
February 20, 1914 - July 25, 2010

William (Bill) Bitterman of Kamloops passed away on July 25, 2010 at the age of 96. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his 2 daughters, Darlene (Robert) Nowland of Kamloops, and their children Christine (Alex), Michael(Leanna), Jason, Loren(Caitlin), Bonnie (Lawrence) Zevick of Surrey and their children Billy (Aiste), Tanya (Patrick), and two great grandchildren Sierra and Zoe, and his sister Norma Zieroth of Toronto. Predeceased by his loving wife Tiny (Ruth) on March 9,1999.

Born February 20,1914, the second son of Jacob and Christina Bitterman in Halkirk Alberta. In the 1920’s in his youth the family moved to Kelowna passing through the treacherous Rocky Mountains on harrowing roads. His parents and the children George, Bill, Mabel, Martha, Fred, Ted and Norma then moved to Oliver in 1929. There he became part of the community for the next 74 years. About 1935 while at the summer dance pavilion at Tuc-El- Nuit Lake he met Tiny (Ruth) Dalton.They married in 1940 and this dance lasted 59 years. After Bill returned from the Army at the end of WW2, they settled on road 10 to raise their two daughters Darlene and Bonnie. Bill was a gentle man who loved to fish with his handmade fly fishing hooks, hunt and build things. His creativity was more than the average handyman, he could put his hands to any job from a broken piece of farm equipment to building his own home.

Many will remember Bill from his many years working at the Oliver Co –Op packing house in the 1930’s and the BC Fruit Shippers and the Hains Co-Op packing houses till the late 1980’s.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date.

Emilio Baliva
June 26, 1924 - August 17, 2010

It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of our beloved father and husband, Emilio Baliva, on August 17, 2010. He is survived by his three sons, Mario, Joe, Antonio (Nadia), and grandchildren Andrea (Jason), Dax, Cassia (Ben) and Harley and great grandchild Joey, his nieces Nadia and Lisette (Dino) in Celano, Italy as well as many other relatives in Australia, Italy and throughout the USA. Predeceased by his wife Angelina in 2003.

Emilio immigrated to Canada from Celano, Italy in 1950. He began working for CN Rail in 1951 as a patrolman as well as a machine operator during the summer months. His beloved wife, Angelina and oldest son, Mario joined him in 1957 to start their lives together in Spences Bridge, BC. Later on to permanently reside in Kamloops in 1962.

Emilio was a hard working and loyal employee of CN Rail. He proudly retired after 34 years with the same company.

Emilio's greatest love was his wife and family. He took great pleasure in spending time in his garden alongside his wife. Dad was a real people person always enjoying the company of friends and family. He was also an avid fan of the Kamloops Blazers. Attending as many games as he possibly could. Emilio will also be missed by his faithful companion, Biscuit.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. J.L. Mabee, Dr. Howie and all the wonderful staff at Ridgeview Lodge. Also a special thank you to Margarita, Tim, Cathy and Joan for all their help and friendship in Emilio's later years.

Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 23, 2010, Father Vincent Asomugha, Celebrant. Following the service Emilio will be laid to rest, next to his wife, in Evergreen Mausoleum at Hillside Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzhiemer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation in his memory.
