DAY, G. Robert (Bob) - Thursday, 28 Jun 2007
G. Robert (Bob) Day passed away peacefully in Mission, BC on June 28, 2007 at the age of 86 years. Bob was predeceased by his wife Molly and son Brian Stewart. He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Carole of Stony Plain, AB; son Warren of Saskatoon, SK; granddaughters Wendy Harrison and Candace Avison both of Fox Creek; 7 great grandchildren, Erin, Chalynn, Matthew, Jessica, Sharlee, Cullen and Payton; 1 and a half great-great grandchildren, Ruby and Alexander (waiting in the wings) as well as extended family and many, many friends. Bob was a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Br. 57 Mission and executive member of Pacific Command.
A memorial service was held at Cedar Valley Mennonite Church, 32840 Janzen Ave., Mission on Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at 11:00 a. m. with Pastor Dan Rempel officiating. Interment followed at Hatzic Cemetery.
Bob’s family would like to thank his doctors and the incredible staff at Pleasant View for their care and compassion. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Parkinson’s Society Canada or the Canadian Cancer Society.

PETERS, Olga - Monday, 20 Aug 2007
Olga Peters (nee Warkentin) aged 87 years, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly August 20, 2007. She was predeceased by her husband Hermann. “Oma” will be greatly missed by her ­family and friends. She is survived by her 8 children and their families. No matter the challenge she was always smiling.
Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at 10:00 a. m. Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford, BC with a Memorial Service to follow at 11:00 a. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne St., Mission, BC.

LUND, Lola Margaret - Monday, 20 Aug 2007
Lola Margaret Lund (nee Scott) passed away at the ECU in Mission on Monday, August 20, 2007 in her 86th year. Lola was born in Maryfield, Sask. on Sept. 22, 1921. She was a school teacher in Sask. for two years prior to marrying her husband, Norman, of 55 years. They travel­led west until finally settling in Mission in 1964. They owned and operated Lund's Cycle & Repair for 13 years before retirement. Lola will be remembered for her beautiful handwork, delicious home baked goodies and her witty sense of humour. She loved to be surrounded by her family and friends whether at home or on the road.
Lola is predeceased by her parents Charles and Emily Scott; her husband Norman; twin children Brenda and Brent; her brothers Harry and Wes Scott; and her sisters Eva Johnson and Isabella and Isa Scott (in infancy).
Lola is survived by her children Don (Becky), Mary (Ray) Baker, Audrey (Wayne) Anderson, Larry (Jean), Gordie (Lorraine), Ed (Rhonda), Myrna (Paul) Wieler, Brian (Suzanne), Sandy (Kim) Cormack, Valerie (Ken) Bishop; 21 grandchildren; 15 great grand­children and one great great grandson; several step-grand and great grandchildren; two ­brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A memorial service will be held Friday, August 31, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Presbyterian Church, 8469 Cedar St., Mission.

ALEXANDER, Elizabeth “Betty” - Monday, 20 Aug 2007
Elizabeth “Betty” Alexander, born on January 12, 1920 passed away on Monday, August 20, 2007 at the Extended Care Unit at Mission Memorial Hospital. She was predeceased by her husband Lock in 1997. Betty will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Sheila (Paul) in Scotland and Frances (Roy) in Mission; grandchildren Catriona (Brian), Eilidh and Kyle (Tracy); great grandchildren Shayne, Patrick and Olivia.
The family wishes to thank the dedicated staff at the Stuart Pavilion for their warm and loving care.

MAYER, Sylvia Evelyn - Sunday, 19 Aug 2007
Sylvia Evelyn, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2007 at Abbotsford B.C.
Though born in Transcona, M. B, she was raised in Smithers, B.C. Sylvia was predeceased by her sisters Ada Blanche and Lucille Rose and is survived by her brother Peter Mayer of Kamloops; her niece Maureen Savard and her children Shannon, Patrick and Michael. She was a registered nurse who served for many years in Palo Alto, California until her retirement. She and her long time friend Eileen spent their retirement years traveling the world together. A devout Catholic, Sylvia attended for many years at St. Anne’s Parish in Abbotsford.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, August 24 at St. Anne’s Church, 33333 Mayfair Ave., Abbotsford with Reverend James Hughes, Celebrant. Interment to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery.

Stuart Greig, born in Falkirk, Scotland on January 17, 1948 passed away after a four year courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Dianne, son Colin and daughter Shannon. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends both in Scotland and Canada.
The family would like to invite extended family and friends to a gathering in the reception room at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford, BC on Thursday, August 30, 2007 at 4:00 p. m.

It is with great sadness that the family of George Quesseth announces the his passing on Aug. 18, 2007 after a short battle with cancer. He will be sadly and forever remembered by his two daughters, Sarah Pope (Shaun) of Sherwood Park, AB, and Valerie Quesseth (Steve) of Norman Wells, N. W. T. George also leaves to mourn his four grandchildren Ryan and Justin Pope and Kendra and Mckayla Scott plus many close friends, Tim, Ron, Terry and many others that knew him.

Giles passed away on August 17, 2007 in Chilliwack, BC at the age of 63 years. He was born September 20, 1943 in Brownsburg, Quebec. Giles is survived by his loving wife, Faith Bisson; children and step­children Christine (Darrin) Halsey, Allan Bisson, Charlene Bisson, Jerry (Deanna) Forder, Dawna Armoogam, Sharynne (Troy) Cease, Mark Forder, Dale Forder, and Sonia (Robert) Coghill; 11 grandchildren; parents Lucien and Madeleine Bisson; ­sisters and brothers Claire (Robin) Rowe, Elaine (Tom) Stencill, Luke (Donna) Bisson, and Chris Bisson; and several nieces and nephews. Giles was predeceased by his birth mother, Françoise Bisson.
Special thanks to the home care nurses and nursing staff at Chilliwack Hospital and Dr. Basson for their loving care of Giles. To the Blue Knights, you were so special to Giles, who has passed into Heaven one. To all the RCMP members, thanks for all your support. He was always proud to be a member of such a great group. God bless you all. So many other friends and family will deeply miss a man who was truly an example of wisdom, kindness and love. We know there is rejoicing in Heaven, but we will greatly miss you, Giles.

It is with great sadness that the family of Alex Borodula, late of Abbotsford, announces his passing at Abbotsford MSA Hospital at the age of 88.
Survived by his loving family: wife Marion (64 years); two daughters: Lorane (Darrell) MacKay of Winnipeg, Manitoba and Penny (Mario) Manfredi of Parksville, BC; his four grandchildren: Nicole Manfredi, Julie (Darin) Mercer, Christine (Dale) Robertson and Darren MacKay, plus his cherished great granddaughter Alexis Marie Mercer.
Alex joined the BC Police in 1943 then continued on with the RCMP in 1950. He served throughout BC and retired as a sergeant in 1965.
In lieu of flowers, a donation in Alex's name could be made to the Cancer Society.

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bernie Kamphuis of Abbotsford, at the age of 47. A father, husband, son, brother, uncle and friend. Bernie is survived by his children Ben and Ayrann of Abbotsford and their mother Maryann, his parents Herman and Helen, sister Jane Langford, and brothers Paul and Robert and their families in Ontario. Bernie will be missed by the Visser, Reid, and LaRonde families of Aldergrove, Ontario and Australia.
Bernie was born in London, Ontario, and relocated to BC in 1993. He worked as a welder at Magnum Trailers. Bernie’s favourite times were spent outdoors with family and friends, and playing and coaching soccer.
The community’s respect was reflected in the love and support shown to Bernie and his family during his illness.
A viewing will take place on Tuesday, August 21, 2007 from 6-8 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Rd, Abbotsford. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, August 22 at 4:00 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home.
Those wishing to honour Bernie with charitable donations may do so to the Christine Morrison Hospice, Abbotsford Minor Soccer or to a charity of their choice.

Mr. Lawrence Morris Haaland passed away at home on August 16, 2007 at the age of 82. He is survived by his daughter Laurel (Don) Blanchard, son Rick (Pat) Haaland; 3 grandchildren Lon, Natasha, and Natalie-Ann; 2 great-grandsons Harley and Hayden, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 25 and 1:00 pm at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford

EPP, Ben - Saturday, 11 Aug 2007
Ben passed peacefully into the presence of his Lord on August 11, 2007 at the Menno Home in Abbotsford. He was born on July 4, 1928 near Swift Current, Saskatchewan as the ninth child to Henry H. Epp and Maria Banmann Epp. In 1942, at the age of 14 he moved to Abbotsford where he lived until his death. On November 5, 1983 he marri-ed Margaret Elizabeth Peters. During his lifetime he pursued several careers, including farming, truck driving and custodial work. Ben loved his Lord and particularly enjoyed daily devotions. After his retirement, he and Margaret enjoyed traveling to various parts of Canada and the U. S. A.
Ben leaves to mourn his passing his loving wife Margaret, three brothers, Henry (Elsie), Frank (Ann), Jake (Olga) and four -sisters, Mary Stobbe, Elizabeth (Henry) Lepp, Ann (Al) Penner and Helen (Walter) Nickel. He was predeceased by his parents, six siblings in infancy and two brothers, Herman and Peter.
The family would like to thank the staffs at the MSA Hospital and the Menno Home for their loving and compassionate care.
A memorial service for Ben will be held on Friday, August 17 at 1:30 p. m. in Bakerview MB Church, 2285 Clearbrook Rd., Abbotsford, BC. If desired, friends may make donations in Ben’s memory to the charities of their choice.

PERRY, Robert (Rab) - Friday, 10 Aug 2007
Robert (Rab) died peacefully on Friday, August 10, 2007 at the MSA Hospital in his 87th year. Rab was a long time resident of Abbotsford. His passion was golfing at Ledgeview. He was a keen snooker player. During his working years he was employed at BC Sugar. He also served our country during World War II with the R. C. A. F. as a gunner. His ­theatre of service was Africa.
Rab will be remembered by his loving family, two sons Bob (Debbie) and Bill (Peggy), daughter-in-law, Sharon; grandchildren, Michael and Sarah; great granddaughter Rebecca; sister, Jean; and brother, Bill.
Special thanks goes to the ­doctors and nurses at the MSA Hospital for all their special care toward our dad.
At Rab’s request, there will be no service. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Salvation Army.
