BRUNEAU, Lucien (Lou) - Friday, 14 Jan 2005
Lucien (Lou), passed away peacefully in his home in Abbotsford January 14, 2005 in his 86th year.
Lou was born in Lac du Bonnet, Manitoba.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Sylvine, and his sister Jeanette; their two sons Arthur (Lynda), and Henry (Marnie).
He will be remembered by his seven grandsons and one great grandson, Neven, seven months old, who all live in Ontario, Hamilton area.
There will be no funeral by his request.
Any donations you wish to make please send to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Remember the ones you love.
He will be sadly missed by his wife, family, and friends.

BENNETT, Mrs. Annie Louise - Wednesday, 19 Jan 2005
Mrs. Annie Louise, late of Abbotsford, BC, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at age 94 years.
She was predeceased by her son Curtis Scott.
Survived by her daughter Helen Dutkowski; nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Bennett was retired after many years of farming in Cloverdale.
She was an avid follower of the Canucks by radio.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 26 at 1:00 pm from Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Rd.
Interment to follow at Hazelwood Cemetery.
Donations may be made in her memory to Canuck Place.

DUFF, Mary (Marie Blondina Baert) - Wednesday, 19 Jan 2005
Mary Duff (Marie Blondina Baert), born March 14, 1906 in Mendonck, Belgium, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 in Mission, BC.
It is with sadness we announce the death of Mary, who was predeceased by her husband William Charles, brothers Andrew and John; and sisters Val and Lucille.
Leaving to mourn her passing are her son Frank of Toronto; daughter Marilyn (Garry) Paling; grandsons Tom and Ronnie (Athena) Paling; and great-grandchildren Rayl and Tyanna, all of Mission; her beloved sisters Clara De Wulf and Ida Mager of Winnipeg; and numerous nieces and nephews. She also had numerous dear relatives in Belgium, Winnipeg and Minnesota.
Mary will be forever remembered for her constant support, devotion and love for her family, her love of animals and nature, her great sense of humour, kind, gentle spirit and her positive outlook on life.
Mary’s family wishes to extend deep appreciation to her friends at Pleasant View Apartments for their kindness and consideration over the years, and to nursing and other staff of both Ridge Meadows Hospital in Maple Ridge (3 West Wing) and the Mission Memorial Hospital.
The compassion and tender care shown by all staff to Mary in her final days at both of these facilities was extraordinary.
Prayers will be offered on Monday, January 24, 2005 at 7:00 pm, and the Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 25, 2005 at 10:00 am, both taking place at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, 32550 – 7th Avenue, Mission, BC, with interment to follow at Hatzic Cemetery.

MEYERS, Robert Brian - Wednesday, 12 Jan 2005
Robert Brian, born April 23, 1949 in Berwyn, Alberta, passed away quietly in Abbotsford, BC on January 12, 2005.
Survived by his loving family: wife Lorna Seifried (Pahl); sons Paul and Pierce; extended family Marisa, Leslie and Travis Pahl; mother Winifred; father Douglas; brothers David and Kenneth and sister Barbara Johnson; grandchildren Shae, Jacob, Lucy, Keinen and Zoe.
Brian left us on this day with both sad and happy tidings.
As Brian has taken leave of this life he has left a score of family and friends that will forever miss and remember him.
We who knew Brian have been privileged in having had an individual with his warmth and kindness touch our lives.
Brian can truly be said to be someone who cared for the health and safety of those around him and made that his life’s work over these past many years.
In life we all struggle from time to time, Brian being no exception, but with the final tally, Brian has surely excelled in his contributions to those who have been blessed with knowing him.
It truly cannot be said that Brian has left anyone behind, as he will always be with us in both spirit and in our hearts.
His family invites his many friends and loved ones to attend a memorial service, which will be held at the Crowchild Inn, Calgary, Alberta, February 11, 2005 at 2:00 pm.
Brian’s family request that any remembrance of him be made in the way of a donation to the Salvation Army (Agape Hospice).

Frances was predeceased by her husband Herb (Sept/04), brothers Arthur and Eric Cousins, and sister Alice McLintock.
She is survived by her sons Tony (Judy), Brett (Mary), daughter Shelley (Pat), sisters-in-law Lorraine Cousins and Frances Bayrack, six grandchildren and one great grandson.
Frances was born in Winnipeg and joined the Women’s Royal Navy in England in 1940.
She served in Egypt for 3 years where she earned her commission as a Censor Officer and was promoted to 2nd Officer (Lieutenant).
She went on to serve in Philadelphia, USA, with the Submarine branch until the end of the war, before returning to England and then to Canada in 1947 when she was honourably discharged.
Frances held many secretarial positions between the war and 1985, among them medical office assistant at Mission Medical Consultants.
She and her husband Herb were owner/operators of Mission Taxi and AAA Charter Bus Services in Mission.
Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life at the Royal Canadian Legion, 32627 Logan Street, Mission, BC from 11:00 am-2:00 pm on Tuesday, January 25, 2005.
Donations in Frances’ memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

FRIESEN, Peter K - Monday, 17 Jan 2005
Peter K. Friesen passed away January 17, 2005 with loving family at his side.
Peter was born April 7, 1915 in Beaver Flat, Sask., the 7th of 13 children born to Cornelius W. and Katherina (Klassen) Friesen.
Growing up during the Depression, Peter's unbridled love of horses began at an early age, as the family automobile was converted into a 4 wheel buggy and all farming was done with a team of horses.
He went on to work as a cowboy alongside his brothers, specializing in training “outlaw” horses.
Peter married Anna Wohlgemuth on January 16, 1936.
After moving from Sask to BC and back several times Peter settled his family in Sardis, BC where they owned and operated a dairy farm from 1963 to 1988.
All his life, Dad's true passion was horses.
He was active with many equine organizations, including the BC Horse Council, the BC Pinto Assn. and the Chilliwack Riding Club, where he became an honourary member.
His hobby of manufacturing and repairing harness and tack, plus his special gift of matching the right horse to a prospective rider brought a steady stream of visitors into his home, workshop and barns.
Always willing to share his expertise, he will be remembered for his quick wit and endless horse stories.
Predeceased by his granddaughter, Darcia Louise Ling in 1983, Peter is survived by Anna, his loving wife of 69 years, sons Bob (Val), Dale (Iris), Stan (Sheila), daughter Carol (Ross) Blatchford, sons Peter (Jan), Al (Darlene), Wayne (Lyde), Wilf (Laura), daughter Jacquie, grandchildren Frank, Pat, Debbie, Julie, Angie, Shelly, April, Carmen, Lauren, Kris, Jason, Sean, Shannon, Ryan, Maren, Dalen, Breton, Robin and 18 great grandchildren. Peter also leaves siblings Helen Dyck, Susie Carlson, and Leonard (Edna) Friesen.
Special thanks to the caring staff at the Menno Hospital.
Dad's outgoing personality and generous spirit enriched many lives.
Please join us for a Memorial Gathering at the Menno Pavilion, 32943 Marshall Rd, Abbotsford on Sat January 22, 2005 at 3:00 pm.
A viewing for friends and family will be held on Friday, January 21, 2005 at the Personal Alternative Funeral Home, 3070 - 275A St, Aldergrove.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of BC or to a charity of your choice.

HOULDEN, Charles William - Tuesday, 18 Jan 2005
Charles William Houlden peacefully passed away on January 18, 2005 at the age of 89 at Chilliwack General Hospital.
He was born on May 24, 1915 in Boissevain, Manitoba.
He was predeceased by his wife Marion Houlden (2003), sons Clair (1978) and Michael (1991), sister Frances Arbuckle and brother Jack Houlden.
He is survived by his children; son Randy (Donna), daughter Marnie (Phil) Anderson, grandchildren Darryl (Kris), Lori, Marcy; Christopher, Andrew; Carrie, Carla (Nate), Kyle; Sheena, and Tasha; great-grandchildren Aleesha, Aimee; Jason, Sara, Bradley, Corey; and Olivia.
He will also be missed by his sisters Dorothy Houlden and Lena Cooper, sister-in-law Doreen and Charlie King, brother-in-law Lawrence Nankivell and many nieces and nephews.
Charlie will be remembered for his sense of humour and his deep love for his wife, children and grandchildren.
A private family service was held with burial at Hazelwood Cemetery, Abbotsford.
Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in memory of Charlie.

Predeceased by parents Harvey and Caroline Doll, husband Ross, brothers Stan, Clarence and Gordon, sisters Edith, Bertie and Irene.
Survived by sisters Virginia Jones, Quesnel B.C. and Marjorie MacKay, Victoria B.C. as well as several nieces and nephews.

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. David Richard Zbitnew, late of Abbotsford, BC who passed away on January 18, 2005 at the age of 67 at Surrey Memorial Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Valerie (nee Luck), daughters Beverley (Paul) Warren and their children Ashley and Nicole and Tanya Zbitnew (Jan), son Darren, granddaughter Daryl, four sisters, Jean Kotyk, Olga Ranger, Julie (Bill) Scott, and Audrey Zbitnew and many other family members and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Mary (nee Gabna), four brothers Walter, John, Alfred and Nestor, and sister Sophie Moore.
He retired early from the Canadian Armed Forces (Navy) after 21 years of service.
A Celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date in Saskatchewan.
Burial will be held at Mamornitz Cemetery, SK.
