CARROLL (nee Boehmer), Luise Dorothea - Saturday, 08 Jan 2005
Dorothy Carroll, late of Agassiz, passed away at the Glenwood Nursing Home in Agassiz early in the morning on Saturday, January 8, 2005 at the age of 85 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three children and six grandchildren, Brenda (Mel) Linn with Christy, Melville and Erin, George Carroll with Neil, Monica (Bruce Coleman with Christopher and Adrienne. She is also fondly remembered by her 2 sisters Gertrude (Ewald) Baumgardt and Florentina (Ralph) Burke, her four brothers, John (Edith) Boehmer, Karl (Dottie) Boehmer, Harold (Faith) Boehmer, Luther (Janice) Boehmer, her nephew Larry (Sharon) Symons and numerous nephews and nieces.
Dorothy is predeceased by her husband George Walter Carroll, her sister Mary Percy and her brother Frederick Boehmer.
On Saturday January 15, 2005 a viewing will be held at 9:00 am followed by a Celebration of Dorothy’s life at 10:00 am at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home 45865 Hocking Ave., Chilliwack. Interment at Valleyview Cemetery, Agassiz.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Glenwood Nursing Home in Agassiz, BC, and all the Home Care workers for the special care the provided Dorothy.

FRANCO, Joanne Kathleen - Sunday, 13 Mar 2005
Joanne Kathleen Franco born in Winnipeg, Man. on July 2, 1948, it is with deep sadness we regretfully announce the sudden passing of Joanne on March 13, 2005.
Predeceased by her father Ralph; her brother Max; and most recently in 2003, her beloved mother Margaret.
Survived by her sister Sherry; and her brothers, Ralph and Ron; nieces, Crystal, Shalen, and Julie; and her dog Brandy.
Joanne lived and worked in Chilliwack and was known by many. She worked on horse farms in the Upper Fraser Valley since she was in her early teens. She had been an integral part of Reed Stables in Chilliwack for the past 27 years. She truly loved working with horses. She also worked at the Royal Hotel for the Berry family.
Joanne’s love of figure skating was well-known and she attended the Stars On Ice recently held in Chilliwack, with lifelong frined Tom Berry. The tickets were a gift to her from her brother Ralph, who was very special to Joanne.
Joanne touched the lives of all that knew her and will be remembered for her dedication, friendship, and loyalty. She will be deeply missed by all her friends, and all the animals that she cared for everyday.
Funeral to be held - Thursday, Mar. 24, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. at Chilliwack Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be held on Easter - Sunday, March 27, 2005 at Reed Training Stables, 48240 Yale Rd., Chilliwack from 1-4 p.m.

CROSMAN, Elsie Mabel Olive - Monday, 21 Mar 2005
Elsie Crosman passed away peacefully in her sleep at home in Chilliwack on March 21, 2005 at the age of 87 years. She was born in Chilliwack on March 26, 1917 and lived her entire life in Chilliwack.
In her last few years, Elsie enjoyed the daycare program at Parkholm Lodge were she loved to sing and visit other seniors and staff. She also entertained the staff at Chilliwack General Hospital Emergency ward with her singing during her frequent visits over the last two years. She enjoyed being a grandmother to her many foster grandchildren.
Elsie is survived by her sons Leigh (Shirley) of Kamloops and Charlie (Karen) of Chilliwack, grandchildren Bob Crosman, Stacey (Bill) Johnston, Jeni (Dave) Fowler, Amy Crosman, Clint Crosman, Cheryl (Colin) Lacey, Gord Crosman, Nicole Crosman, Stuart Crosman and great-grand children, Krysy, Jerrod, Seth, Kate and Thomas.
Elsie was predeceased by her husband Emerson Crosman in August 2001, an infant son in 1947 and sisters Isabelle Bremner, Jean McKenzie and Muriel Ward.
Special thanks to the Parkholm Daycare Program and Fraser Health Authority Home Support Service, especially Kate, for all their help and support over the years for both Elsie and Emerson.
A graveside service will be held at Carman Cemetery with Rev. Michael Hare officiating at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Mar. 26, 2005. This would have been Elsie’s 88th birthday.

PAUL, Bud - Tuesday, 15 Mar 2005
Bud Paul passed away suddenly, but peacefully at home on March 15, 2005, at the age of 76 years.
He is survived by his son Les and Trixie Paul; daughter Brenda Russell and Wendell Russell; and his grandchildren, Luke and Chanel Paul, Colten, Sabrina, and Jillana Russell; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Bud was born in Birch Hills, Sask. January 15, 1929.
He was predeceased by his mother Eva Mae Paul; father Clarence Paul; brother Roy and Florence Paul, and brother George Paul.
Bud was a logger until he retired at age 58, working in the local area, the Coast and Queen Charlotte Islands. In his retirement his passions were his horse Choco and his grandchildren, attending many of their sports and school functions.
Bud also dedicated his time and hard work with the local Rodeo Association, he was a true cowboy and a gentleman. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Thursday, Mar. 24, 2005 at 10 a.m. at the Broadway Mennonite Brethren Church, 9410 Broadway St., Chilliwack.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation.

MORRISON (nee MacLeod), Joeyan (Johanna Annabell) - Sunday, 20 Mar 2005
Joeyan passed away on March 20, 2005 at Chilliwack General Hospital following a lengthy battle with ovarian cancer.
Joeyan was born in Vancouver, BC, November 10, 1942. Growing up she enjoyed piano, singing in the Gaelic Choir, skating and swimming. After graduating from Fairview School of Commerce, she worked as a secretary for an insurance company and later, Van Waters and Rogers. Following several years at home raising our daughters, she pursued a career as a medical transcriptionist. She worked for Dr. John Fuller, Burrard Orthopaedic Associates, and ran her own business, JM Transcription Services. Outside of work she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, flower arranging and camping.
Joeyan was predeceased by her parents, Peter and Christina MacLeod, originally from Lewis, Scotland.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family, husband of 41 years, Andy; her daughters, Julie (Aaron) Vanthournout of Calgary, Christina (Bruce) van den Brink of Chilliwack; grandchildren, Melody, Jasmine, Jarrod and Grace. She will also be missed by many cousins and friends in Scotland as well as close friends and associates in BC.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26th, 2005 at 1:30 pm from the Chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave, Chilliwack, BC. the Rev. Dale Yardy of St. John’s Anglican Church officiating. Interment at Chilliwack Cemeteries will follow the service.
If family or friends so desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society (Ovarian Cancer Research) in Joeyan’s name.

SCHWINGHAMER, Louise Norma - Friday, 18 Mar 2005
Louise Norma was born Sept. 3, 1928 in Bruno, Saskatchewan.
Louise passed away peacefully March 18, 2005 surrounded by her family.
Louise is survived by her loving husband of 55 years Denis, her two daughters, Linda Paulhus (Bob), Carol Hill (Bruce), grandchildren, Tara Walters (Gwil), Kristy Paulhus, Nicole Hill, Michael Hill and great grandson Adam Johnson.
Louise lived for her family. Her love and special recipes were at the heart of every family gathering, and will be sorrowfully missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family would like to make a special thank you to Father Gary of St. Mary’s for his kindness and good humor.
Also thank you to the staff in emergency and the nurses on the third floor at Chilliwack General Hospital.
Funeral Mass to be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 8909 Mary Street, Chilliwack, BC at 11am March 23, 2005.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

SUTHERLAND, George (Red) - Wednesday, 16 Mar 2005
George (Red) Sutherland, retired Group Captain, passed away on March 16th , 2005 at the age of 86 years at the Chilliwack General Hospital.
He is survived by his wife Penny; children, Jim and Bonnie Sutherland; his sister Eleanor Dann and four grandchildren, Melanie, Kimberly, Andrew and Geordie.
He was born on July 2, 1918 in Calgary, Alberta. His parents were George and Mary Sutherland of Port Moody, BC. He was a WWII fighter pilot, involved in the first wave of night fighter pilots crossing over the English Channel on D-Day. After the war, he briefly left the Air Force to try and run a garage with his dad in Port Moody, but his love of flying took him back to the Air Force where he remained until he retired in 1969 and moved to Chilliwack, BC. He had lived in Chilliwack before the war and spent some very happy and memorable times staying with his great friend Johnny Lockwood and family. It was also the time he met Don Gleig, who remained his great friend for many, many years.
After the move to Chilliwack, he went into Real Estate which he enjoyed for many years. He was a very gregarious guy and made many friends throughout his colourful life. He loved golfing, gardening, skiing and he kept himself fit with regular workouts. He was a popular sight jogging down the country roads near his home on Camp River Rd. He also loved a good party and good company. He was a “one of a Kind” dad and grandpa and we will all love him dearly. He will live on in all of us and we will always have great and fond memories of him.
We are going to have a gathering at his home on Good - Friday, March 25th, 2005 starting at 2 p.m. to celebrate his life and to remember the good times. We welcome his close friends and neighbours to this gathering.

ROSE, Donald W. - Sunday, 13 Mar 2005
Donald W. Rose, of Chilliwack, BC, born January 19, 1928 in Vancouver, BC, died in the evening of March 13, 2005 at Chilliwack General Hospital.
Don will be lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 54 years, Mildred; his daughters Barbara (Tony) and Kathy; his son Bruce (Anna); his grandchildren Mario, Michael, Paul, Carolyn, Annika and Jack; and his brother Mark (Isabel) and family.
Special thanks to Dr. John Hamilton and the staff of Chilliwack General Hospital for their care and compassion.
Family and friends are invited to attend a farewell reception to honour Don on Saturday, March 19, 2005, any time between 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm at the Best Western Mission City Lodge, 32281 Lougheed Highway (at Hurd St.) Mission, BC. If desired, donations in Don’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

ROMEYN (nee VAN GOGH), Tryntje - Wednesday, 16 Mar 2005
Tryntje Romeyn (nee Van Gogh) passed away peacefully March 16, 2005 at the age of 85 at Ebenezer Seniors Home, Abbotsford, B.C. She was born April 10, 1919 in Krimpen a/d Yssel, the Netherlands. She immigrated to Chilliwack, B.C., Canada in 1949.
She was predeceased by her mother, father, 2 brothers, 1 sister, her husband, the late Rev. Martin Romeyn and 1 grandchild.
Tryntje is survived by Gerrit (Joka) Romeyn, Leny (John) Viets, Agnes (Arie) Van Wingerden, Rita (Dave) Hampson, Nelly (Ron) Kaye, Marian (Dwight) Moore, Pete (Wendy) Romeyn, John (Theresa) Romeyn, Louise (J.T.) Cazander, 30 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Funeral service to be held at 1 p.m. Sat., March 19, 2005 at Bethel Netherlands Reformed Church on Broadway, Chilliwack. Rev. Pieter Van Ruitenburg officiating. Internment to follow at Chilliwack Cemetery. Opportunity for condolences will be March 18, from 7-9 p.m. at the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home.
Flowers gratefully declined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Timothy Christian School.

PAUL (nee Hill), Lorraine - Tuesday, 15 Mar 2005
In loving memory of Lorraine Paul born April 17, 1935 in Rosetown, Sask., and passed away March 15, 2005 in the Extended Care Unit at Chilliwack General Hospital, in her 69th year. She lived in Chilliwack from 1949.
She is survived by her daughter Brenda Russell and Wendall Russell, son, Leslie (Trixie) Paul and sisters Doris (Bob) Fraser, Norma (Monte) Olsen, of Langley; brother, Gerald (Shirley) Hill, of Kamloops; grandchildren, Colten, Sabrina & Jillana Russell, Luke & Chanel Paul. Sisters in law, Doreen and Elsie Hill, of Rosetown, Sask; and Mae Hill, of Calgary. Also, many numerous nieces and nephews, and friends.
Predeceased by her mother and father, Isabel and Stanley Hill; brothers, Howard, Clifford, Earl, Garfield and Cecil.
Special thanks to all the staff for their loving care and support. Also thanks to Doug McKinnon for all his beautiful orchids.
Lorraine loved her family and her grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by all.
No funeral by request. A graveside memorial for the family will be held at a later date.

MILLER, Corinne - Sunday, 20 Feb 2005
Corinne (Cora) passed away in her 95th year on February 20, 2005 at Eden Intermediate Care Home, Chilliwack BC. She was born in Plumtree, North Carolina January 19, 1910.
She is survived by her 3 daughters Joyce Vaugeois (Denis), Myrna Campbell, Bonnie Barnetson, 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, her sister Edith Summerfield of Portland Oregon, brother Hayne Ollis of Joseph Oregon, many great nieces, nephews and extended family.
Corinne was predeceased by her husband William Miller in 1997, 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
Corinne will be remembered for teaching in the Harrison Lake area, Spring Creek Logging Camp, Harrison and Agassiz, also for her paintings, music and enjoyment of nature. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held on March 19, 2005 with a grave side service at 11:00 am at the Valleyview Cemetery in Agassiz, to be followed by lunch at 2008 McCaffrey Road in the Clubhouse.
Donations may be made to the Cancer Society in her memory.

PARKER, David Ivan - Friday, 14 Apr 2006
David Ivan Parker passed away April 14, 2006 at the age of 85.
He was predeceased by his mother, Sophia Mallet, and wife, Olive Parker.
David is survived by sons: Reg Parker of Minot, ND and Ray Parker (Bonnie) of Chilliwack, BC; and daughter, Janis Neufeld (Dale) of Saskatoon, SK.
David served in the Canadian Forces from Dec. 22, 1941 to July 20, 1971. He received the Canadian Volunteer Service Medal, Korea Medal, United Nations Service Medal and Canadian Forces Decoration.
He enjoyed curling, golf, fishing and card games.
Special thanks to Dr. Scott Markey and the nurses on the Medical Short-Stay Unit, Chilliwack General Hospital. Also, special thanks to the Chilliwack Lifestyles staff.
No service by request.
