SMITH - Marjorie Doreen. Born January 9, 1935. Passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital on Sunday morning, June 10, 2001. Marjorie is survived by her father John, sister Louise, brother Jack, daughters Melody and Beverly, grandson David, and great-granddaughter Richele. Memorial service to be held at Lynn Valley Full Gospel Church, 1160 East 29th St, North Vancouver at 2:00 p.m. June 15, 2001. Reception at Legion 118, 15th St, North Vancouver from 3:00 p.m to 6:00 p.m. 985-1115. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of B.C. For info call 736-4404. She will be loved in our hearts and remembered always, her loving family.

MAICH - Kenneth Henry. Passed away peacefully at Vancouver General Hosptial on June 8, 2001. He will be greatly missed by his family (in Ontario), friends and fellow walkers. A Memorial Service will be held at Glenhaven Memorial Chapel, 1835 East Hastings on Saturday, June 16 at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation

THOMAS - Marie (nee Sandvik) 1920-2001. Suddenly from pneumonia at Evergreen House 2 South, North Vancouver, B.C. Predeceased by her husband Wyndham and her brother Arthur. Survived by her son Marwyn (Louise), grandchildren Craig (Katie) and Stacey, sisters Kristine Barichello and Margaret Costanzo. Many thanks for the loving care and attention over the past six years to the marvellous staff at Evergreen House 2 South. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday June 16, 2001 at Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favourite charity. HOBBS - Geoff B. January 2, 1931 - June 3, 2001. Died peacefully at home after a long illness. Born in New Zealand, he was charismatic, a notable athlete, a world traveller, a collector, and a passionate fisherman. Professionally he taught Junior High, worked for Shell Oil Co., and had a long career in Commercial Real Estate. He was an active and contributing member of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver. His family is respecting his wish there be no service. SAMPSON -Dorothy Evelyn. Age 84 years. Passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 18, 2001 at the Kiwanis Care Centre in North Vancouver. Dorothy is survived by her loving and devoted husband Ronald, son Peter and his wife Pat, grandsons Michael and Jeffrey, brother Don Reid, and sister Marjorie Carmichael. Dorothy and immediate family lived in Duncan on Vancouver Island for thirty-four years prior to moving to North Vancouver in 1995, leaving many close friends in the Cowichan Valley. The caring and dedicated staff at the Kiwanis Care Centre deserves sincere thanks for the excellent care and support provided during Dorothy's last year. A private family gathering will be held. BLIGH -Mary (Mamie) Elizabeth Passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, February 14, 2001. She will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by her family and friends. A private family gathering will be held. Donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

NORMAN WILLIAM BUNN, P.Eng. 1922 - 2001 of West Vancouver passed away peacefully, at home, with his loving wife of 54 years at his side, after a long bout of illness February 18, 2001 at 78 years. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Jim and Alfred and sister Muriel. Also predeceased by his nephew Richard Gregorig. Norman's love and humor will be dearly missed by his wife Joyce, daughters Jennifer (Mike Blomfeild), Sandi (Bill Dix) and son Chris (Joan nee Twining) along with grandchildren, Derek and Landon Dix and Nicole Bunn and sister-in-law Gwen Gregorig. He will be lovingly remembered by nephews, Jim Ellis and Chris Gregorig together with many extended family and friends in Canada, the U.K. and Palm Springs. Norman met and married his wife, Joyce while serving in the RCAF in the European theatre from 1939 through 1945. He graduated from the U of A in 1950 and went on to a lengthy and notable career in the Prestressed Concrete industry. Norman left his roots in the prairies and moved his then young family to Vancouver. Norman was a past president of the North Vancouver Chamber of Commerce and participated on many committees with both PCI and FIP. In the late sixties, Norm founded Dyform Engineering and together with son, Chris took the companies services and products internationally. Following the sale of Dyform, Norm remained active in the industry and provided volunteer Engineering services to underdeveloped countries through CESO. Norman was an avid gardener and took great joy from this pastime, he also was an avid golfer until a series of strokes prevented him from playing (member CGCC West Vancouver RMGCC, Rancho Mirage), he was active with Gyro for many years and had a fondness for the sea, (member RVYC). Norman lived life to its fullest, traveling extensively, he valued his many friends around the world, he was a great believer in following ones dreams, his enthusiasm was contagious. Memorial services to be held at St. Francis in the Wood Church, West Vancouver, Friday, March 16, 2001 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stoke foundation would be gratefully appreciated. Special thanks to Dr. Ng, and the staff of Lions Gate Hospital and to Dr. Mann and the staff at Eisenhower Medical Centre, also, a very special thanks to Norm's longterm caregiver, Grant and Norm's many friends and therapists at the Stroke Activity Centre.

Muri - Pearl Mabel Heluise. November 13, 1908 - February 14, 2001. Predeceased by her husband Gustav and the last in her family of 8 siblings, Pearl is survived by her two sons, Glen (Marilyn), Dennis (Agnes), grandchildren Lisa, Linda (Arthur) Santema, Sandra (Al) Domin, Janine (Randy) Carver, Randy, Ricky, and Danny Fabbro, great -grandchildren, Nicholas Santema, Shayla Domin, Tyler Carver, Candice and Randall Fabbro. Born in Bagley Minnesota to Norwegian parents, Pearl's family moved when she was two, north to Frontier, Saskatchewan. Eventually she would meet and marry Gustav Muri. They soon longed for the mountains and "fjords" of the west and traveled to Vancouver in 1938. Their strong roots to Norway guided them to Deep Cove where they settled, and became an integral part of the community. Pearl was a hard working, honest, and caring women. She had simple tastes and needs, and was always thankful for everything she had. She lived 92 wonderful years and will be forever cherished by her family and friends. She is now with Gus, and at peace. "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the lord my soul to keep, if I should die before I wake, I pray the lord my soul to take". A memorial will be held at Lynn Valley United Church, 3201 Mountain Highway in North Vancouver, on March 2, 2001 at 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

McNAB - Ian Robert. Passed away peacefully at his home in North Vancouver on February 21, 2001. Ian was born on December 9, 1929 in Grangemouth, Scotland. He will be deeply missed by his wife Mary, his children Stuart (Nancy), Susan (Pierre), Lesley (Ian), Christine (Russ) and grandchildren Kelly, Nicole, Matthew, Denise, Mike, Ryan and Jack. Ian was a ship surveyor for Lloyd's Register of Shipping from 1957 until 1993. He worked in March 2, 2001 at Mount Seymour United Church, 1200 Parkgate Avenue, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer London (England), Montreal, and Vancouver, and was a keen golfer all his life. The McNab family would like to thank Dr. Richards, the medical staff at Lions Gate Hospital, and the Home-Care nurses for their compassionate care and support. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, Society.

CARRATT - Charles R. Passed away February 22, 2001 aged 88. Predeceased by loving wife Phyllis (1983), Charles will be sadly missed by sons David (Joanne) and Barry (Maryanne Keena), grandchildren Dean and Lisa and great-grandsons Jacob and Kaden. REITAN - Leonard E. Len was a long time resident of North Vancouver and passed away peacefully on Feb 22, 2001 at the age of 85 in Castlegar B.C. He is survived by his son Roy (Pauline), and four grandsons Steve (Leanne), Dennis, Dale (Jenni), and Randy and great-grand daughter, Paula, all of Castlegar, B.C. no service by request.
