ANNE ENNS (nee Pankratz) and WILLIAM (BILL) ENNS
Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003 at the Bethesda Hospital, Anne Enns of Steinbach, Man. passed away at age 82.
She was predeceased by her sister Lydia Wiens, brother Henry Pankratz, and son-in-law Gerald Kroeker.
She was survived by her husband Bill; and will be lovingly remembered by son Gordon and wife Deirdre McGarry; daughter Marilyn Kroeker, granddaughter Jenna; sisters: Hilda Wiebe, Elvira Enns and husband Peter; brothers: Vern Pankratz and wife Florence, Helmut Pankratz and wife Dolores; and many nieces and nephews.
After a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer, William (Bill) Enns of Steinbach passed away peacefully at Bethesda Hospital, Monday, Aug. 11, 2003 at the age of 83 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Anne, Aug. 9, 2003; sisters: Agnes and Katie; brother Aron and wife Esther; and son-in-law Gerald Kroeker.
He will be lovingly remembered by his son Gordon and wife Deirdre McGarry; daughter Marilyn Kroeker, granddaughter Jenna; sister Susie Enns; nephew Garth Enns and wife Agnes; nieces: Bev Jantzi and husband Brian and family and Sherri Enns.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2003 at the Steinbach Mennonite Brethren Church. Interment followed at Heritage Cemetery.

Helen Wiebe of New Bothwell, Man. passed away at the Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, Man., Thursday, Aug. 7, 2003 at the age of 63.
She is survived by her husband Bishop Dick Wiebe, one daughter, five sons, and their families.
Viewing for Helen Wiebe was held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel Wednesday, Aug. 13, 7 to 7:30 p.m., with a devotional at 7:30 p.m.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Aug. 14, 2003, 2 p.m., at the Steinbach Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover St., Steinbach. Interment at the Silberfeld CMC Cemetery.

WILLIAM (Bill) KOLYBABA
March 1930 - August 2003
Bill passed away peacefully at the Lacombe Hospital, Alta., Aug. 14, 2003.
He joined the RCAF in 1949 and proudly served in various locations throughout Canada and overseas, until his retirement in 1980 with the rank of Captain. After his retirement, Bill joined Alberta Hail and Crop, where he was employed for 13 years. Bill was an avid golfer and volunteered at The Nursery G & CC.
Married for 53 years, he is survived by his loving wife Ilse; daughter Dawn (Barry); son Garner (Marla); grandchildren: Addie, Dalen and Brandt; and sister Mary (Byran). He was predeceased by siblings Mary, Bill, Manuel and John.
The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation for the excellent care provided by the nursing staff and doctors of the LCHCC and to the friends who visited with friendly and supportive conversation.
Service was held Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, 11:00 am, at Wilson's Funeral Chapel, Lacombe.

MARIA HILDEBRAND
1939 2003
Maria Hildebrand of Steinbach, Man. passed away at St. Boniface Hospital, Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003 at the age of 64.
Maria was born in 1939 to John and Anna Ginter in Paraguay. She was baptized in the name of the Lord by Bishop Martin Friesen. After coming to Canada in 1966, she worked hard at three killing plants and the Kitchen Craft factory. July 25, 1970 she married Henry Hildebrand. They lived in Winnipeg, Man. for 26 years and for the past six years they resided in Steinbach.
The funeral service was held at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church, Sunday, Aug. 24. Interment at the New Bothwell Church Cemetery.

ISABEL REIMER
Quietly at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Man., Aug. 22, 2003, Isabel Reimer passed away, surrounded by family.
Widowed in 1987, Isabel will be dearly missed by her son Gordon (Irene) and grandchildren Kristen and Brett; daughter Raymonde (David) Tickner and grandchildren Mark and Kiran. Isabel will also be missed by her many writing colleagues across Canada.
Born in Halifax, N.S., May 3, 1908, Isabel moved from the East Coast at the age of three and was educated and raised in Saskatoon, Sask. She was an internationally published writer, winning several awards for fiction, and contributing to countless magazines, newspapers, and educational materials.
Following cremation, a memorial service was held Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003 at the Bethesda Place Chapel, Steinbach, with Chaplain Larry Hirst officiating.

1929 - 2003
With birds singing in the background and the rich aroma of a campground breakfast in the air, Jesus took our Dad home Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003.
Harold and Mary had just started a week of camping at Spruce Woods with many of Mary's siblings. This camping trip was to be the grand finale of an unforgettable summer of love. This summer they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary at the Prairie Rose Church and how they enjoyed the love and friendship of so many! Harold and Mary had several opportunities to be with family, whether at Pinawa, Man. for several days with all their children and their families, or being involved with the weddings of their grandchildren. Dad lived this summer of love to the fullest, full of vim and vigor, interested and content with all.
He will be forever remembered and deeply missed by his loving wife Mary; his son Gareth (Sharon) of Linden, Man., and their children Christine (Darren), Andy (Jen); his daughter Eunice (Hank) of Nova Scotia, and their children Jessica, Tyler and Brent; his son Doug (Lois) of Alberta, and their children Matt, Amanda, Ryan, Joe (Nicole), Sheri (Derek) with great-grandchildren Keaton and Makayla, Mike (Heather); his son Wally (Alexis) of Alberta, and their children Danny and Greg; his daughter Denise (Craig) of Winnipeg, and their son William. Harold will also be lovingly remembered by brothers, sisters and friends.
His smile was contagious, his wave was heartfelt and the toot of his horn was one of a kind. Although we miss him so much, we're sure that God has a special gardening project in mind for our Dad.

OLGA FRIESEN
Olga Friesen (nee Heese) peacefully passed away at the Tuxedo Villa Care Home in Winnipeg, Man., Sunday, Dec. 12, 2004, at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edwin J. Friesen of Steinbach, Man. in 1996; and her brothers, Alec Heese of Elbow, Sask. in 1964 and Serge Heese of Surrey, B.C. in 1989.
Olga's memory and the example of her life will be forever cherished by her daughter Lucille and husband Doug Evans, daughter Louise Spafford and husband Bob Hill and two grandchildren, Christina and John Spafford, all of Winnipeg. Also mourning her loss are her brother-in-law, Dr. William J. Friesen and his wife, Donna; sisters-in-law, Anne Sawatzky and Helen Zuchowski, all of Winnipeg; and a number of nephews and nieces in British Columbia, Winnipeg and Steinbach.
Olga was born in Katrinaslov (now Dneprepatrovsk) in southern Russia on Aug. 8, 1911, to Peter and Katherine Heese (Toews). Her father, the owner of a flour mill, enabled the family to live a comfortable, happy and secure life until the beginnings of the Russian Revolution. After several years of untold hardships and fear, they were able to flee to Canada in 1921.
Here she met and later married her husband of 60 years, Ed Friesen, who would take over the ownership of J. R. Friesen & Son, the Ford agency in Steinbach. Their marriage was a strong and loving partnership forged by similar interests. They devoted themselves to their community in many capacities and supported each other in various leadership roles. Together they traveled all over the world to learn more about other countries and peoples.
Her independent and fearless spirit was shaped by her childhood in Russia and later encouraged by her husband. Olga was very active in the Red Cross, the Women's Institute, the Steinbach music festival, the Horticultural Society and the Steinbach Grace Mennonite Church. She loved swimming, curling, gardening, reading, needlework, classical music, traveling and just about anything that would challenge and broaden her mind. After a visit to South Africa, she was inspired to become the driving force behind building the memorial to Mennonite Pioneer Women located at the Mennonite Heritage Village in Steinbach. Flying lessons were also tackled so she could be of assistance to husband Ed when he flew his own small aircraft.
Olga was always proud of her children and grandchildren, encouraging them with love and care in their various endeavors.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 16, 2004, 1:30 p.m., at the Grace Mennonite Church, 430 Third Street, Steinbach. Interment will follow at the Steinbach Heritage Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James and Richard Giesbrecht, Ert Peters, Kevin McGarry, Wally Rempel and Werner Toews.

FRANK DOERKSEN
With family at his side, Frank Braun Doerksen of Grunthal, Man. left us for his eternal Home on Dec. 13, 2004.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife, Mary; his children and their families: Donald and Esther Doerksen, Jerilyn and Ryan (Noah and Raechel) Koslowsky, Gaylene and Shane Magian, Renae and Allen (Tyra and Chloe) Sterk; Wanda and John Wiebe, Jennifer, Carrie and Joel Wiebe; Hilde and Dick Friesen, Jonathan, Cherie and Krissy Friesen; Sharon and Levitt Muirhead. He was predeceased by his brothers and sisters and a stillborn son, Levi.
Dad was the youngest child born to Franz and Maria Doerksen, Nov. 1, 1917. He lived in the Grunthal area his whole life, with the exception of one year at the age of 10 when he moved to Paraguay with his family. Dad and Mom owned a dairy farm on the Doerksen family homestead. Dad loved life and he showed it in his devotion to his family, the farm, music and church work. Singing played a pivotal role in his life: music led him to Christ, and his courtship with Mom started when they sang in a mixed quartet. He sang with different quartets, serving with the Spencer quartet for 35 years, and he concluded his singing ministry by serving for 10 years with the Southeast Male Choir.
Dad enjoyed simple pleasures: the singing of birds, the sunrise, Mom's cooking, fishing, and, especially, time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was interested in people and would approach friends and strangers with a ready smile and handshake, but he was still most contented when he was with Mom, his sweetheart. He lived with a quiet, gentle nature and his gracious generosity was shown to the end as he reassured us of his love and his anticipation of going Home. We will miss him.
A viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach, Man., Friday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m., with a service to follow at 7:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Dec. 18, 2 p.m., at the Grunthal Bergthaler Church, 101 Southwood Street, Grunthal. Interment at Grunthal Cemetery.

JOHN LEBOEUF LOVE
Dec. 16, 1946 - Dec. 12, 2004
After a courageous battle with lung cancer, and surrounded by loving family, John Love, 57, passed into the loving arms of his Lord and Savior.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 26 years, Wilma; one son, Leonard (Jen) and children: Joel, Stephanie, Leonard, and Evan; four daughters, Belinda (Chris) Love and children: Ashley, Russell, Chantelle, and Nicolette; Cheryl (Ron) Sokol and children: Daron, Juston, Amber, and Dillon; Corrina (Les) Abrey and children: Johnathon, Jessica and Jenna; Paula (Anthony) Medeiros and children: Micheal, Rebecca and Nathan; two brothers: Stanley (Jocelyn) and Robert; four sisters: Lorraine (Michel), Kathleen Pierson, Christine (Pierre) and Marlene (Gilles), all of Montreal, Quebec; aunts and uncles: Yvette Benoit, Paul Leboeuf, Helen Love and Bill and May McKay; many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Dad was predeceased by his parents: Leonard and Fernande Love; one grandson: David; four brothers-in-law: Louis Hebert, Denis Demers, Gary Pierson, and Ron Veeley; and one sister-in-law: Linda Podjan.
Dad was born in Montreal, the eldest of seven children. Dad's love for traveling started out when he was a young teenager when he would go up north with his father. As the years flew by and children came and life brought all of its changes, Dad became a long distance truck driver, and that career brought him into contact with many people. His love for traveling also had him moving across the country from the east coast to the west coast, and then finally settling down in the Richer, Man. area for eight years. While there, Dad and Mom owned and operated Love's Family Restaurant, a 24-hour truck stop. This was the turning point in Dad's life, where he met many people who were inspirational and leading him to a personal acceptance of his Lord Jesus, and then to his baptism in 1983. Anybody who knew him would be sure to know of his faith in Jesus Christ. The following eight years were consumed by operating Johnny's Burger Bus at the Pine Grove Rest Area on Hwy. 1. Dad's hobbies included many hours of being lost in a book, and he was always known for his mickey-mousing. Settling down in Hadashville, Man., Dad then began to build his dream home, which was a huge labor of love. He had a love for flying ultra light airplanes, so it was inevitable that he would set out to acquire his license to fly and that was his dream. Dad was also very imaginative and had many inventions on the go at any given time. In more recent years, Dad finally convinced Mom to get her class 1 and brought her out on the road with him, which was another experience they both enjoyed tremendously. After that chapter, Dad wanted to explore the logging industry, and although it brought him many headaches with machinery, he really enjoyed the experience and of course all of the new people he was able to share his faith with.
The family wishes to thank all of the staff on ward GH4 at the Health Sciences Center for their wonderful care and compassion in Dad's last days.
A celebration of his life will be held Dec. 17, 10:30 a.m., at the Dayspring Fellowship Church in Ste Anne, Man. Viewing will be held at Steinbach Funeral Home, Thursday, from 7-8 p.m., with a short devotional to follow, and also a half hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment to follow at St. Mary's Riverside Cemetery, Prawda, Man., followed with a luncheon at the Hadashville Recreation Center.

PHILIPPE LOUIS SAINDON
Feb. 19, 1936 - Dec. 13, 2004
After a long and courageous battle with heart disease, Philippe passed away at his residence in Ste. Anne, Man.
He is survived by his wife Stella (nee Nault); his brothers and sisters, Jean Paul (Adrienne), Lucien (Mona), Denise (Stan), Fernand (Lucienne), Juliette (Fernand), Jean Louis (Lucie), Roger (Dee) and Donat (Viola); brothers and sisters-in-law, Gerard (Jovita), Roland (Elaine), Gilles (Eveline), Della (Fernand), Allan (Shirley), Rose Marie, Doris (John), Eveline (Dave), Gabriel (Shirley), Ronald (Annette) and Rose; mother-in-law Florence Nault; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; his close friend Edmond and his companion "King." He was predeceased by his father Louis, mother Elizabeth, father-in-law Aime, brother-in-law George, sister Eveline, friend Ferdy, great-nephew Marcel, step-father Raymond, nephew Patrick and sister-in-law Diane.
Philippe was born at home in Richer, Man., where he attended school and resided for most of his life. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He worked on construction and in the bush for South-East Forest Products.
Funeral mass will be celebrated at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church Friday, Dec. 17 at 2:30 p.m., with viewing one half hour prior to the mass, with Father René Chartier the celebrant. Interment will follow in the Ste. Anne Parish Cemetery.
Special thanks to Dr. Roy of Ste. Anne, the ambulance attendants, Louis Le Brun, St. Boniface Emergency, MICU, 5B, 4B and 4E, Steinbach Bethesda Hospital Ste. ABRAHAM FROESE
Abraham Froese of Steinbach, Man. passed away at Bethesda Hospital, Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2004, at the age of 66. He was born March 2, 1938 in Loma Plata, Paraguay and was baptized at the age of 21 by Alt. Martin C. Friesen. He married Margaretha Dueck July 28, 1963. They were married for 41 years and five months.
Abraham is survived by his wife Margaretha; sons, Neil (Tammy), Bill (Sheila), John (Sylvia), George (Bertha), Henry (Helen), Jordan (Mary); daughters, Anna (Herman) Peters, Nettie Froese and Tina (Lawrence) Arendt; 26 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; six sisters; and five brothers. He was predeceased by one son in infancy, one grandson, and his parents.
Viewing will be held at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church, Friday, Dec. 17 at 7 p.m., with devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church, Saturday, Dec. 18 at 11 a.m. Interment at the church cemetery.
