It is with the greatest sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, brother, brother in- law, uncle and great-uncle Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 at the Morris General Hospital at 52 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joanne Wolanski; brothers Garnet (Adele), William, Donald, Frank (Adeline), Richard (Diana); sisters Rosemary (Bill) Wnuk, Bernice McKnight (Reg Amy), Cynthia (Leonard) Jamieson; sister-in-law Eleanor Weedmark; eight nieces, 10 nephews and their families and lone surviving Aunt Myrtle Schwabe. Allen is also survived by Joanne's brother Stan, sister Julie (Paul) Monastyrski and two nieces, one nephew and their families. He is predeceased by his father Fredrick Sr., mother Marjorie, brothers Raymond and Fredrick Jr.

Allen was born Jan. 26, 1954 at Morris Hospital, received his schooling in Dominion City, MB and Emerson, MB. He lived in Dominion City all his life being an avid curler, played hockey and baseball. He was also an avid hunter going big game hunting with his friends at "Schmidtville". He also enjoyed camping and fishing and along with Joanne spent the last three summers at Buffalo Point, MB where many new friends were made.

He served on the volunteer fire department for 26 years, resigning in 2003. He was also an active member of the Roseau Valley Legion Branch #160, Franklin Craft Club and Franklin and Area Wildlife Association. He was employed by Agricore from 1973 to 2001 when his health deteriorated to the point where he could no longer work. In January 2004, Allan had a liver transplant in London, Ont., thanks to a very special donor. His health improved to a point where he enjoyed a much better quality of life until his latest illness in September.

A celebration of Allen's life will be held Saturday, Dec. 16, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Dominion City United Church, located at 2 Centennial Drive, Dominion City, MB with Reverend Bev Ward presiding. Private family interment will follow the service at the Dominion City Cemetery.

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all of the medical staff at University Hospital, London, ON; Dr. Renner and Nurses Vickie and Elyse along with all the other staff at Health Sciences Centre and the medical and nursing staff at Morris General Hospital. Also we would like to thank the home care workers that assisted Allen when he was at home.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the RM of Franklin for the Dominion City Community Hall or the Dominion City United Church Memorial Fund or Roseau Valley Legion Branch #160. We encourage people to sign their organ donor cards to pass on your gift of life.

He was delivered into this world so precious and perfect at 11:42 p.m. on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Without a breath he left his mark on all who anticipated his arrival.

Mourning the loss of Samuel are his parents Paul and Connie, his sisters Isabel and Katherine, grandparents Dave and Agnes Dueck and Gerald and Marilyn Campbell. Also mourning are his aunts and uncles; Bruce and Melissa Dueck, Mark and Laurel Dueck, Travis and Carla Prette, Daryl and Charlotte Toews and his two cousins; Aurielle Dueck and Brooklyn Toews.

Samuel is being cuddled in heaven by his Grandma Beverly Campbell.

This is a time a parent never wants to face. We've realized how precious the gift of life is. It is not to be taken for granted or wasted. Each breath we take is planned out in heaven before we take the next. We are all called to do the work of the Father who sent us. Do not let Samuel's death be wasted, but let it remind us to move forward with grace and peace for the rest of our lives.

"The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the name of the Lord be praised." Job 1:21.

We would like to thank the staff at the Bethesda and St Boniface Hospitals for their diligent and compassionate care in this difficult time. We also want to thank all the people who have lifted us up in prayer.

The funeral service is to be held at the Grunthal Abundant Life Fellowship on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2 p.m. with burial to follow at the Grunthal Cemetery. All friends and family are welcome to attend.

Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel 346-1030 or 1-888-454-1030.

John Verestiuk passed away peacefully at Bethesda Place, Steinbach, at age 92 with his wife Anne by his side on Saturday, April 12, 2008.

John was born Aug. 2, 1915 in Fort William, ON and moved to Sarto, MB at a very young age. His father died when he was a teenager so John worked the family farm. He married his sweetheart, Anne Osadchuk on Nov. 24, 1945. They worked together on the family farm. He also supplemented their income by working on the pipeline and for many years at C.T. Loewen's.

He will always be remembered for his hospitality, friendliness, hard work and honesty. When he retired at age 65 he had opportunity to spend more time with his family, cutting wood, gardening and helping his son with the cattle. He loved his grandchildren dearly. Every Father's Day we would be out in front of the barn playing baseball. He gave the grandchildren tractor trailer rides around the section and helped them build tepees.

In January 2005 when it became difficult on the farm, John and Anne moved to Steinbach. On Sept. 29, 2006 he moved to St Adolphe Nursing Home where he received excellent care. They enjoyed him and his sense of humour very much. He moved to Bethesda Place in Steinbach on Nov. 23, 2007. We as family are very thankful for the excellent care and compassion he received. When he felt anxious he would find immediate peace when someone would pray for him or sing Jesus loves Me to him.

John was predeceased by his parents Nastia and Harry Verestiuk, two brothers Peter (Ann) and brother Steve.

He is survived by his wife Anne, one daughter Jeanette (Steve) Ruta of Cooks Creek, two sons, Allan (Lori) of Fort McCloud, AB and son Randy (Valerie) of Mitchell; seven grandchildren Natasha, Twighla, Kimberly, Jason, Kevin, Tammy, Jennifer and families; four great grandchildren and two more on the way. He is also survived by sister-in-law Olga in Ontario, nieces and nephews.

"Sweetheart, Dad, Gido, we will miss you so much."

Arrangements by Birchwood Funeral Chapel 346-1030 or 1-888-454-1030.
