JESSIE PENNER

Jessie Penner, aged 85, of Steinbach, formerly of Greenland, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at her residence. She is survived by two sisters, two brothers and their families.

A funeral service for Jessie will take place Saturday, October 8, at 10:30 a.m. at the Steinbach Church of God in Christ, Mennonite. Public viewing will take place prior to the service. She will be buried at the Heritage Cemetery in Steinbach after the service.

JAMES (JIM) BRIAN YURECHKA
May 28, 1955 - October 3, 2011

Suddenly on October 3rd, 2011 Jim passed away peacefully in his car in Wampum. Jim was born in Roseau, Minnesota but lived his entire life in Wampum.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years Shirley (Meixner), his daughter Jolene (Gabriel Bunn) and grandchildren; Trechelle and Teane. Jim is also survived by his mother Elsie Yurechka, sisters Bonnie Grawberger (Gary), Susie Dokken (Kenny), Sandy Yurechka (Darrell), mother-in-law Rolande Meixner, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Jim was predeceased by his son, Jared in 1998 and his father John in 2003.

A Memorial Service will be held at Vassar Hall in Vassar, MB October 11th, 2011 at 2:00 p.m.

CLIFFORD DEARBORN
August 26, 1938 – October 1, 2011

With deep sorrow over our loss we announce that Clifford David Dearborn passed away peacefully on October 1, 2011 at the Steinbach Bethesda Hospital will all his brothers and sisters at his side.

Cliff was predeceased by his father Samuel Dearborn in 1974, his mother Tina Dearborn in 2008, his sister Ethel Ducarme in 2004 and an infant brother Allen. He is survived and deeply missed by three brothers, Allen (Emily), Pete (Cindy), Charlie (Gisele) and five sisters, Mary (Brian), Eva (Ron), Joy (Peter), Margaret (Frank), Minnie (Brian). He has been a special uncle to 24 nieces and nephews and 20 great nieces and nephews.

Viewing will take place Thursday, October 6 from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach with interment at 1:15 p.m. at Heritage Cemetery. The memorial service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Grace Mennonite Church, 430 Third St., Steinbach, MB.

George Neufeld, age 76, of Niverville passed away at the Victoria Hospital in Winnipeg on Tuesday, January 25, 2011.

He is survived by his wife Mary-Ann, two sons and their families, two sisters and six brothers.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 30 at 3:45 p.m. at the Word of Life Mission Church, 233 Third St. S, Niverville with viewing at the church from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Interment at Hespeler Cemetery in Niverville.

SUSAN HARDER (nee Giesbrecht)
1926 - 2011

On January 24, 2011 Susan Harder died peacefully at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach, MB.

She was predeceased by her parents, Abraham and Mary Giesbrecht, her first husband, John Hiebert, husband Jacob D. Harder, son Jeffery, her eldest stepson Gordon Harder, brother Gordon Giesbrecht and sister Anne Unger.

She is survived by her brother Jim Giesbrecht, her stepchildren, Daria (Gordon), Rosemarie (Wayne Croom), Larry (Kathryn McLaughlin), and Danver (Kim) as well as six grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in Steinbach at Rest Haven Nursing Home.

PETER CHUBATY

On Sunday, January 23, 2011, Peter Chubaty at age 87, beloved husband, father, and dido passed away peacefully at the Seven Oaks Hospital and went home to be with his Heavenly Father.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife Anne of 65 years; his daughter Alice Grywinski; his son Nestor (Marian); grandchildren Larysa, Melanie, and Jeremy; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. He is also survived by two sisters, Adele Lacko (Andy) and Fay Podolsky; and three brothers, Willie, Walter (Elaine), and Johnny.

Family and friends are invited to join us for prayers on Thursday, January 27 at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach and / or Divine Liturgy on Friday, January 28 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Church at Rosa, MB with interment at the church cemetery. Audio will be provided in the centre so everyone can participate. A reception will follow in Rosa at the Shevchenko Ukrainian Centre.

In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful if donations in Peter's memory would be made to the Holy Family Home, 165 Aberdeen Avenue, Winnipeg, MB, R2W 1T9 or to the Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 24, Rosa, MB ROA 1NO.

EDMOND SAINDON

Edmond Saindon of Steinbach passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2011at Bethesda Hospital at the age of 66 years. He is survived by: his wife, Lorraine; sons Ray (Lori) and Mitch (Georgina); grandchildren Melissa, Daniel, Courtney, and Cayden; five sisters and two brothers. Edmond was predeceased by his mom and dad and one brother.

The memorial service for Edmond will take place at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach on Saturday, January 29 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation has taken place.

Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 200 - 6 Donald Street; Wpg., MB R3L 0K6 in Edmond's honor.

Don Koop, 48, of Niverville, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011 at the DeSalaberry District Health Centre in St. Pierre. He is survived by his wife Rose, his daughter Jonelle (fiancé Mel), son Josh; as well as his mother, one sister, two brothers and their families.

Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive Steinbach on Wednesday, January 26 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service. The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Word of Life Mission Church, 233 Third St. S, Niverville.

FLORENCE DELORME

It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce Florence Delorme (nee Dubois) passed away after a courageous battle with cancer and diabetes on January 21, 2011.

She is predeceased by her husband Herb, son Albert, daughter Florence, son-in-law Charles, her parents Marie Louise Dubois and Frank Dubois, one sister Delima and brothers Frank, Jean-Baptiste, William and Herman.

She leaves behind to mourn five daughters: Rose, Yvonne (Jim), Jeanne, Jeannette and Annette, two sons Aime (Shirley) and Herbert (Joyce), numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, and one brother Marcel

Prayers will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26 at Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons Street. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 27 at Sacré-Coeur-de-Jésus Roman Catholic Church in Vassar, Manitoba. Pallbearers will be Jim Brooks (honorary), Marcel Pelland, Raymond Culleton, Buck Duchene, Leslie Duchene, Jeffery Delorme and Michael Samms.

DIEDRICH KRAHN

Diedrich Krahn, 93, of Grunthal, MB passed away Thursday, January 20, 2011 at the St. Pierre Hospital.

He is survived by four daughters, seven sons and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Anna and one son Diedrich in infancy.

Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 26 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with interment at Grunthal Cemetery.

ALISON JANE MENHENITT

Alison Jane Menhenitt (Janey) aged 40, originally from Sittingbourne in Kent, UK, lately of Grunthal, passed away suddenly, after an impossibly valiant battle, on January 19, 2011 in St Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg.

She is survived by her loving husband Rob and their son Michael, her mother, Jackie, brothers and sisters; Michael, Michelle, Stephen and Susan.

Her wish was that she be cremated, and a memorial service will be held on Friday, January 28 at 4:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach.

If people would wish, in lieu of flowers, it would be a wonderful gesture to make donations for the Medical Surgical Intensive Care Unit Education Fund as they were incredibly good to Janey and to her family who were by her side at the end.

Annie Engel, 91, of Steinbach passed away Wednesday, January 19, 2011 at Rest Haven Nursing Home.

She is survived by one daughter, two sons and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Adam in 1996.

The funeral service will be held Monday, January 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, 465 Henry St, Steinbach with interment at the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Hwy #12 South.

Louise Headings, 92, of Steinbach passed away Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Rest Haven Nursing Home.

She is survived by two daughters, two sons, one daughter-in-law and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Ivan in 1987 and one son.

The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, January 25, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing at the chapel prior to the service. Interment at Memorial Cemetery.

Michael Wepruk died peacefully at the Personal Care Home in Vita, Manitoba on January 15, 2011, age 97.

Dad will be greatly missed by his children: Pat (Marc Chabot), James (Denise) and Jackie (Rick Austin). He leaves behind to mourn his passing: his beloved brothers Paul (Alice), Bill (Dorothy) and Stan (Elma), his grandchildren: Tamara Wiebe, Corey (Sonja), Laurier and Patrick; great-grandchildren: Micayla, Shayda, Jadyn and Ryleigh and a multitude of nephews and nieces. His parents, brother Nick and sisters: Anne Bodnarchuk, Nettie Kereliuk, Helen Osachuk, Val Anderson, Kate Kereliuk predeceased him.

Burial and funeral liturgy will take place May 7, 2011 (pending) at the Ascension of our Lord Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sundown.
