GERARD P. FILLION
January 19, 1963 – January 12, 2011

Gérard P. Fillion passes away accidentally January 12, 2011 near his home by St-Joseph, Manitoba at the age of 47 years.

Gérard was predeceased by his brother Jacques in 1971. He will be dearly missed by his father and mother Marcel and Adeline Fillion, his wife Marilyn (Friesen) Wall and four daughters: Luda (Jeff Calder), Berlyn, Hadrian and Leevon; two brothers: Denis (Réjane) Fillion, Michel Fillion (Rick Irving), three sisters: Gisèle (Don Sabourin), Janine (Niel Wiebe), Adéline (Rick Selwood) and their families.

Prayer service will be on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at 7:30 pm from the Roman Catholic Church in St-Joseph, Manitoba with Mass of Resurrection on Wednesday, January 19, 2010 at 1:30 pm from the Roman Catholic Church in St-Joseph, Manitoba. Cremation has taken place; inurnment will take place at a later date.

Thank you to everyone for their prayers and support through this very difficult time. Thank you everyone who was involved in helping with the aftermath of the accident, our thoughts and prayers are with you as well.

We will truly miss his hearty laughs, his forgiving spirit and his loving heart.

LORNE TOEWS

Lorne Toews, 77, of Steinbach, MB passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at the Bethesda Hospital.

He was predeceased by his wife Elsie on January 3, 2011.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 12 at 11:00 a.m. at Dayspring Fellowship in Ste. Anne with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Prairie Rose EMC Cemetery in Landmark.

With sad hearts and wonderful memories, the family of Jake Hiebert of Grunthal announces his passing at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on January 7, 2011 at the age of 75 with his family by his side.

He was predeceased by his devoted and loving wife of 50 years, Hanna on June 12, 2010. Remaining to cherish Dad's life are Mark and Bev, Tylor and Destiny of Steinbach, Tim and Ingrid, Melissa and Stephanie of Winnipeg. He will also be lovingly remembered by his brothers, sisters and many friends he made during his life journey.

On Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. a Celebration of Dad's life will take place at the Blumenort Evangelical Mennonite Church in Blumenort, Manitoba. Interment at the Silberfeld CMC Cemetery. The family wishes to thank the nurses and doctors who cared for Dad at the Bethesda Hospital.

Robert (Shick) Dueck, 50, of Steinbach passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Bethesda Hospital.

He is survived by his wife Janine, two sons, three sisters, three brothers and their families. He was predeceased by one sister.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Southland Community Church, Hwy 52 W, Steinbach with viewing at the church prior to the service. Interment at Heritage Cemetery.

Katharina (Tina) Penner, 91 of Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach passed away Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB

She is survived by 5 daughters, one son and their families.

She was predeceased by her husband Henry S. Penner.

Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Wednesday, January 12 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, January 13 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chortitzer Mennonite Church, 479 Hanover, Steinbach with interment at Heritage Cemetery.

Under the Lord's watchful eye, 83 year old George Grenier died on Thursday, January 6th, 2011. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Irène (nee Jungmann), his 8 children and their spouses, over thirty grandchildren and grand grandchildren, as well as his brothers and sisters, Joseph (Rolande) Grenier, Paul (friend Florence) Grenier, Hubert (Stella) Grenier, Rosaire (friend Jeanette) Grenier, Norbert (Loraine) Grenier, Alphonsine Mondor, Alexandrine (Robert) Gérardy, Laurette Fontaine, Esther (Louis) Gagnon, Denise (Adelard) Tourond and his brother-in-law, Denis Comeault.

Prayers took place on Tuesday, January 12th at 7:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. A celebration of George's life took place Wednesday, January 13th, at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joachim Catholic Church in La Broquerie with burial in St. Labre Cemetery.

Peacefully on Thursday January 6, 2011 at Bethesda Hospital, with family at her side, Maria Doerksen passed away at the age of 87 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her two daughters Betty (Dave) Neufeld and Erna (Ernie) Kornelsen. Also left to cherish her memory are six grandchildren Kevin Neufeld and Peggy Neufeld; Sheila (Rob) Martens, Wendy (Patrick) Martens, Derek (Jen) Kornelsen, and Robin (Jeff) Card; seven great-grandchildren Jamie, Ryan, and Spencer Martens; Colton, Mckenzie, and Joshua Martens, and Samuel Kornelsen; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Banman, Ida Doerksen and Agnes (Ken) Slocum, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Monday, January 10 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, January 11 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with interment at the Silberfeld CMC Cemetery prior to the service at 11:00 a.m.

Maria Janz, 99, of Grunthal passed away Thursday, January 6th, 2011, at the Menno Home in Grunthal.

She is survived by her daughter Bonnie, son Eric, granddaughters Cari (Mike) Stadnyk and Lorill Friesen, and great grandsons Matthew and Tristan Stadnyk, sister-in-law Sara Janz, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband John A Janz in 2002.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elim Mennonite Church in Grunthal with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Grunthal Cemetery.

David Dueck, age 88, passed away at Rest Haven Nursing Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2011.

He is survived by 10 children, 19 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and two sisters. He was predeceased by his wife, Katherine in 2008.

The funeral service will be held Friday, January 7, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main St, Steinbach with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the Kleefeld EMC Cemetery.

ELSIE TOEWS (Reimer)

Elsie Toews passed away peacefully on Monday, January 3, 2011 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Manitoba. She was predeceased by her parents lsaak and Sarah Reimer, three sisters and eight brothers. Left to mourn her passing is her dear husband Lorne Toews, her sister Sarah Friesen and two sisters-in-law Annie Reimer and Betty Reimer; as well as many nieces and nephews and their families.

The funeral has taken place on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Prairie Rose EMC Church in Landmark, with interment at the church cemetery.

Lena Feilberg, 101, of East Braintree, MB passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Monday, January 3, 2011.

She was predeceased by her husband Carl Feilberg.

July 17, 1924 - January 2, 2011

On Sunday, January 2, 2011, David Falk, aged 86 years, passed away peacefully at his home with his family at his side. Dave leaves to mourn his wife Louise (Schalla) of 62 years, his children Clarence (Marcelle), Norman (Connie), Gordon (Joanne) and Beverly and his grandchildren Jarrod (Megan), Dana, Eric, Ian, Whitney (Ryan) and Amy. He is survived by one brother George (Tina) and was predeceased by his parents Peter and Suzanne, 6 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family would like to thank neighbours Harold and Jean Borkowsky, the palliative care program, homecare and Dr. Krahn, as well as everyone that has helped over the past year and kept him in their thoughts and prayers.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Memorial Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Peacefully, surrounded by his family, Noël Fournier passed away February 28, 2011 at the age of 89. He leaves to mourn his children; Emile (Cécile Laramée), Anita (Hubert Bouchard), Cécile (Mike Dyck), Gérard, Fernand (Evelyn Vielfaure), Marjolaine (Germain Rocan), Paulette (Brian Jones) and Robert. Noël also leaves to mourn 18 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, one sister Leona (Fournier-Dansereau), in- laws: Paul Verrier, Pierre Verrier (Rita Michaud), Yvonne (Henri Gosselin), Hélène Bédard, Marie Duclos, Cécile Arnal, Pauline Piché, Claudette (Léandre Bisson), Rita Boulet, Simone Verrier and Solange Verrier. Noël was predeceased by his wife Alice (née Verrier), father Joseph Fournier, mother Eva Gagnon, brothers Gustave and Albert, sisters Cécile and little Joséphine, daughter-in- law Suzanne Lévesque, granddaughter Carol Fournier and grandson Cohn Fournier.

Funeral services will be held at Saint Joachim Catholic Church in La Broquerie on Saturday, March 5, at 11:00 a.m. (viewing at 10:30) No flowers by request. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Dad's memory to the Saint-Anne Hospital, 52 St Gerard Street, Ste. Anne, MB.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marc Brémaud, beloved husband, father and grandfather, on February 28, 2011 at Villa Youville in Ste Anne, Manitoba.

He is survived by Ange-Aimée (née Simard), his wife of 59 years, six children, Claire (Gérald Michaud), Germaine (Daniel Michaud), Gisèle Atiyolil, Luc, Joanne and Léo (Michelle), twelve grandchildren, Joanne, Annette, Paul, Marcel, René, Janine, Marc, Louise, Josée, Mathieu, David, Sylvie. He is also survived by his sisters Adèle (Jacques Peloquin), Angèle, s.g.m. (Grey Nun), Élise (Rhéal Ayotte), Corinne Bouchard and Reine Cormier, and his brother Fernand (Trappist Monk) as well as his sisters-in-law Marguerite (née Courcelles) and Marie-Ange (née Carrière), numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two of his sons, Raymond and Norbert, his brothers, Henri and Julien and his sisters, Edithe, in infancy, and Laure Champagne and numerous in-laws.

Funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 4 at 10:00 a.m. at Saint-Joachim Parish in La Broquerie, MB, with Msgr Albert Fréchette, P.H. officiating. Viewing will begin at 9:30 a.m. until time of mass.

Matilda Wollman of Steinbach passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at the age of 48 years.

She is survived by her husband Levi, one daughter and two sons.
