ROGER BALCAEN
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved Roger on March 30, 2011 at 48 years old.
He leaves to mourn his daughter Haley; his brothers and sisters Raymond (Karen Gustaw), Gilbert (Gisele Desharnais), Nicole (Pierre Dizengremel), Ginette, Gisèle (Raymond Nicolas), Denis (Pam Wiebe), and Suzanne (Fernand Durand). He also leaves numerous much loved nephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed by his `second family`, his wonderful friends Stéphane and Danielle Gauthier along with their daughters Isabelle, Joëlle, Sarah and Tanya.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday April 9th, 2011 in La Broquerie Catholic Church. Viewing will take place at 10:30 a.m. until the time of service. A private interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in the La Broquerie Cemetery.

On Tuesday, Mar. 29, 2011 Benjamin (Ben) Sobering, age 89, peacefully passed away at the Grunthal Menno Home in Grunthal, MB.

Elfrieda Smuk of Grunthal, MB passed away at Bethesda Hospital on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at the age of 67.
She is survived by one daughter, one son and their families as well as by four sisters, one brothers and their families.
Devotional will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Monday, March 28 at 7:30 p.m.

EARL FREY
On Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB, our dad, Earl Frey, age 86, passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side.
Earl married Ermina Clemmer, his lifelong partner, on June 4, 1947. They had 64 wonderful years. Together they raised three daughters, Dianne (Andy) Watchorn, Karen (Dave) Barkman, and Brenda (Harv) Wiens. He is survived by two brothers Alvin (Lydian), Len (Mildred) and his sister Marie (Don) Brubacher. He was predeceased by one daughter (Ruth) in infancy, three brothers and two sisters.
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Friday, March 25 at 7:00 with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. also at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with interment at Heritage Cemetery.

Agatha Reimer, nee Martens, of Grunthal, MB passed away Monday, March 21, 2011 at the Menno Home in Grunthal at the age of 88.
She is survived by one daughter, four sons and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelius K. Reimer in 1975.

MAY 9, 1949 – MARCH 19, 2011
After a courageous struggle with M.S., with family by her side, Janet passed away into the arms of her Lord on March 19, 2011 at the Sunpointe Village Care Home in Kelowna, B.C. where she resided for the past 10 ½ years. Janet was predeceased by her parents, Adolf (Al) and Cathrine (Katy) Coopman. She is survived by her brothers, Jim (Ruth), Mel, Willi (Helen), and Greg (Diane) all of Winnipeg and her sisters JoAnne (Ray) Smith of Eriksdale and Susan (Barry) Lang of Coquitlam B.C. Also mourning her loss are several nieces and nephews, especially Trevor (Kimberly) Lang, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and her special friends Josephine and Henry Dyck of Kelowna, whom Janet considered family.
A memorial Services will be held in Kelowna at Sunpointe Village on April 21, 2011 at 1:00 pm. Should friends wish, a donation may be made in her memory to a charity of one’s choice.

Della Barkman passed into the presence of her Lord on March 15, 2011 at the age of 89 years. She was predeceased by her husband Edwin in 2006, by two infant children, Ellen and Stuart, and by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. She is survived by her loving family, Dawn Marie Barkman (Peter Doyle), June (David) Skillicorn, Lee (Anna) Barkman; 5 grandchildren Kit, Megan, Maxwell, Leeanne and Dennis.

OLGA REIMER FRIESEN (nee Manke)
December 7, 1914 - March 12, 2011
On March 12, 2011 Olga Friesen passed away peacefully at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB at the age of 96 years with her daughters at her bedside.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Alvina Bartlett of Winnipeg, Jack Reimer (Lottie) of Winnipeg and Johanna Whitehead (John) of Mitchell, six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren as well as four brothers, four sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews.
Olga was predeceased by her parents Edward and Emilie Manke, her husbands Peter R. Reimer in 1965, Abe Q. Friesen in 1973, three sisters, four brothers and their spouses; as well as Alvina's husbands: Martin Boyechko and Allan Bartlett.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr, Steinbach with interment at Steinbach Memorial Cemetery..

She is survived by her son Warren (Lucille), daughter Kathleen Stickney; grandchildren Michael (Brigitte), Christine (Ty) Tran and Robert; great-grandchildren Alanna and Sarah Swait, Alisha, Carissa and Selena Tran. She is also survived by two sisters, Isabel Southall and Cae Dipple and numerous nieces and nephews.

Wesley Reimer, 78, of Steinbach passed away at Bethesda Hospital on Saturday, March 5, 2011. He is survived by his wife Charlotte, daughters Colleen Harmon (Tim), Allison Nebel (Joe) and three grandchildren: Sage, Nicolas and Ava, sister Wilma Suderman (Harold) and brother Edgar (Olga). He was predeceased by his parents and brother Raymond (Phyliss).

HEIN (HENDRIKUS LAURENTIUS) VONDERBANK
Hein (Hendrikus Laurentius) Vonderbank passed away peacefully at the age of 79 with his family by his side on Thursday, March 3, 2011.
Hein was born on February 25, 1932 in Roelofarendsveen, the Netherlands. He was the oldest of 18 children born to Nicolaas and Johanna Vonderbank. On July 4, 1957 he married his wife of 54 years Tineke (Catherine) Zoet. Together they had six children; Nico (Jean Carr), Mieke (Mark Langstaff), Hanneke (Jack Greenberg), Kitty (Mitch Tetrault), Marijke (Robert Gagnon) and Jan (1970 -1985). He was the proud 'Opa' of 11 grandchildren; Sarah, Kristina, Lucas, Jonah, Erika, Sam, Riley, Kate, Alex, Yolanda and Annie.
He will be missed dearly by his family, friends and all the people he ever delivered flowers to. A special thank you goes out to the wonderful staff at both St. Adolphe personal care home and Rest Haven Nursing Home.
A service in his honour will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach, Manitoba on Tuesday, March 8 at 11:00 a.m.
