DAVID STAHL

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of David Stahl, a loving husband, father and grandfather. He passed away on Monday, July 23, 2012 at the Ste. Anne Hospital.

He was predeceased by his parents Christian and Katherina Stahl of Portage la Prairie and a brother and sister who passed in infancy.

He is survived by his wife Sandra of six years, his three kids Vanessa (Steve) Doerksen, Chantelle Neufeld (friend Mark), and Justin (Heidi) Neufeld along with his five grandkids Hunter, Hudson, Houston, Hayley, and Dominique. He is also survived by five sisters and eight brothers as well as their families.

The memorial service will be Friday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Chortitzer Mennonite Church with interment prior at Heritage Cemetery. An evening service will take place Thursday, July 26 at the church at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m.

If friends so desire, donations may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses.

NICHOLAS (NICK) PALEY

Peacefully with his family by his side, Nick Paley passed away at the St Boniface Hospital on Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the age of 84.

Nick will be forever loved and sadly missed by his wife Louise; his children Sonya, Rose-Mary, Nick Jr (Rose Marie), Vera (Jim) and Theresa (Daryl); his step-children Darlene (Eric), Michael and Patrick (Denise); his grandchildren Tamara, Jason and Corey; and his step-grandchildren Jake, Josef, Breanne, Dustin, Jenna and Austin.

He will be sadly missed by his sisters Anne, Lena, Mary (Sam), Pauline (Peter) and Doris (Maurice), brothers-in-law Bill, Peter, Nick and Ed; sisters-in-law Carol, Dulcie and Ceese; as well as many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Nick was predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary, brothers Harry and Maurice, his sister Helen, brothers-in-law Mike and Peter, as well as his first wife Olga.

The funeral was held on Friday, July 6 at St Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Winnipeg. Services were officiated by Reverend Dr Gregory Zubacz.

CORNELIUS REMPEL

Peacefully and with family at his side, Cornelius Rempel entered the presence of his Lord Jesus. July 26, 2012, at the age of 78, Dad's suffering came to an end at St. Boniface Hospital.

Left to cherish the memories are his loving wife, Eva, 3 sons Mark (Kim), Dan (Lotti), Ruben (Andria) & 10 Grandchildren.

A celebration of Dad's life will take place on Monday, July 30, at 2:00 pm at the Vita Bible Church, with internment at the Grace Cemetery in Stuartburn, MB.

ALFRED GIESBRECHT

Alfred Giesbrecht, 40, of St. Labre, MB, passed away accidently, on July 28, 2012, at the Bethesda Hospital.

He is survived by his beloved wife Romanda, their children: Cynthia, Diana, Tobby, Daniel, and Dariel. He is also survived by his mother Margaretha, six brothers, seven sisters, and their families.

He was predeceased by his daughter Joana, and his father Andreas K. Giesbrecht.

The funeral service will be held on August 3, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd, Steinbach, with interment at Heritage Cemetery. Viewing will be held on August 2, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach.

Special thanks to the Staff at the Bethesda Hospital, family and friends for their support, and to Birchwood Funeral Chapel.

HENRYKA BUCZKO – MANDZY
1920-2012

It is with broken hearts that the family of Henryka Buczko-Mandzy announce her passing. Peacefully with family at her side on July 29 Henryka met the Lord.

Born in Poland on April 20, 1920. She was predeceased by her son Fred in infancy, husbands Jan (John)Buczko, Dmetro Mandzy. Her parents Marcele and Anelka Pajak in Poland, Sister Janet and brother-in-law Bernie Skurowski of Australia.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons Mike(Annette), Richard(Sonia), daughter Marie(Myron), grandchildren Janson, Christopher, Andrew, Gorden, Laurence(Darleen), Colleen(Shawn), Caroline and great grandchildren Melinda, Beth, Mary, Tristen, Marissia, and Marley.

HELEN J. SMITH nee KROEKER

Peacefully, on Feb. 1, 2012 Helen passed away in hospital in Omaha, NE with her sister Doris and her husband Donald by her side. Helen was born in Steinbach on Sept.5, 1939 to Henry T. and Margaret Kroeker and is survived by her husband, Donald Smith of Omaha and her brothers, Art (Wilma)of Winnipeg, Gordon (Norma) of Irvine, CA, sister Doris (Bill) VanBerkel of Bell Ewart, On. As well, Helen will be sadly missed by 10 nieces and nephews and their families.

Helen will also be mourned by step-children Kimberly (Bart) Gilliam, Courtney (Ken) Bowles, Charles (Adrienne) Smith, Curtis Smith and their families.

Cremation has already taken place and a memorial service is planned for Saturday, Feb. 25 in the chapel of the Roeder Mortuary, 727 N.108th St., Omaha at 11 am. ORAM DONAT JOSEPH PROULX

We are announcing with heavy hearts and sadness the passing of our father after a brief illness on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012 at the young age of 81.

Oram was predeceased by his loving wife Verna (Easton) Proulx, his parents Paul and Diana Proulx, his brothers Horace and Rene, and his sister Yvonne. Dad is survived by his eight siblings, three sisters and five brothers. Dad will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered forever in the hearts of his five children, Lynda (Robert), Valerie (Norm), Debbie (Ian), Darlene, and Sheldon (Lisa). Dad had 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Dad also had numerous nieces, nephews as well as great friends and extended family.

Funeral services will be held at the Ste Anne Roman Catholic Church on Central Avenue in Ste Anne, MB on Friday, Feb. 10. A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. with Mass being held at 2:30 p.m. Reception at the Seine River Banquet Hall located at 80 Arena Road, Ste Anne.

MARY PLOVIE

It is with sadnes, that we anounce the passing of Mary Plovie, aged 85 years, of the Vita Personal Care Home Vita, Manitoba on February 2, 2012

Mary was formerly of Middlebro, Manitoba.

As per her wishes cremation has taken place and a service will be held at a later date.

WILLIAM (SONNY) GOSCHKE

William (Sonny) Goschke passed away in Steinbach on the February 4, 2012 at the age of 65 years. He was born August 16, 1946 in Winnipeg, MB.

He leaves to cherish his memory, HeIen, their daughter Karen, along with two sons Greg and Jeremy; his brother Ed and wife Ilene and their family; as well as numerous friends and acquaintances.

Sonny’s driving career spanned almost five decades. Prior to his retirement in 2011, Sonny drove 18 wheelers on short and long haul to the USA, driving countless accident free miles for which he received honorable mention and awards.

A memorial service was held February 9 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, MB.

HENRI JOSEPH EMMANUEL BAUDRY

Henri was born Dec. 11, 1926 and passed away peacefully on Monday, Feb. 6, 2012 with his family by his side. Leaving to mourn is his beloved wife and soul mate, Jeanne (nee Delorme), his spouse of 60 years.

Left to carry his legacy are his seven children and families as follows: Richard and Gloria (nee Lenchyshyn), Marilyne and Steve Chapman, Annette and Alex Fast, Denis and Kim (nee Huebner), Gilbert and Sharon (nee Lamontagne), Alain and Linda (nee Wiebe), Renée and Ron Monin; his grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Also left to mourn are Dad’s brother and sisters, Marcel and Thérèse, Colette and Fern LeGras, Beatrice and Joseph Sherwood, Alice and Peter Laver, Lily and Léo Desrochers and numerous brothers- and sisters-in-law, countless nephews and nieces.

Funeral Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 11 at the Sainte-Agathe Roman Catholic Church with viewing at 10:30 a.m. Interment of the cremated remains will take place at a later date in Sainte-Agathe.

EDGAR "ED" PENNER

Ed passed away peacefully on February 6, 2012 at Surrey Memorial Hospital in the presence of his immediate family, at the age of 77. He was born January 9, 1935 in Giroux, Manitoba. He is predeceased by his parents Jacob and Annie, and a sister Mary.

He is survived by his loving wife Iris, son Darrell and daughter Debbie (Don). Ed is also survived by his four brothers Ellis (Nettie), John (Phyllis), Abe (Lorna) and Bert (Dora), two sisters Mildred (Ken) and Karen (Dave), numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

RICHARD LISKA

Richard was born on November 26, 1957 to Julius and Lillian Liska (nee Schalla). Peach passed away suddenly at his home on February 8, 2012 at the age of 54.

Peach is survived by his wife Martha (nee Dueck) and his three children Shawn, Amanda and Ryan; his mother-in-law Annie Dueck, one sister Julie (Butch) Borkowsky and one brother Mike (Cindy) Liska, three sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law, many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Monday, February 13th at 2:00 p.m. at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 465 Henry St, Steinbach with interment at Heritage Cemetery.

Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Sunday, February 12 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m.

Helen Barkman passed away on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at the age of 78 years, beloved wife of Homer Barkman of Medicine Hat.

She leaves to cherish her memory eight children, Diana Hiebert of Stony Plain, Alberta, Len (Jan) Barkman of Maple Creek, Saskatchewan, Sharon (Del) Kehler of Grunthal, Manitoba, Randy Barkman of Steinbach, Manitoba, Lorna (Rudy) Martens of Grunthal, Manitoba, Darlene (Bruce) Sawatzky of McGregor, Manitoba, Gerald (Trudy) Barkman of Edmonton, Alberta, and Michelle (Brad) Lutz of Seven Persons, Alberta; twenty eight grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren; one brother, Ben (Erna) Unger; six sisters, Annie Reimer, Elma Fuhr, Alvina (Cornie) Wiebe, Eva (John) Kornelsen, Mary Giesbrecht and Martha (George) Barkman as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held in the PATTISON CHAPEL (Medicine Hat, Alberta) on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Robert Findley officiating.

THERESA ZAPOROZAN

Theresa passed away on February 10th, 2012, 15 days prior to her 95th birthday. Mom was predeceased by her husband William on August 24th, 1979, sisters Pauline and Frances, brothers Paul, Mitchell and Jerry and son-in-law Stephen Budey.

In mourning, she leaves daughter Elsie, son Lawrence and wife Odette (nee Trudel) 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren and sisters-in-law Frances and Marge Wallace.

Prayers will be held on Tuesday, February 14 at 7:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 15 at 10:30 a.m. at the Holy Eucharist Church in Rosa, Manitoba. Interment will take place at the parish cemetery.

She was predeceased by her husband Ewald Eger.
