ARCHILLE “ARCHIE” ROSS

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Archie Ross, 84, on Sunday, June 2, 2013 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB after a lengthy illness.

Archie is survived by his wife Jeannine Ross, his brothers Roland (Marie Rose), and Horace, and his sister Gloria (Johnny) Lajoie. He is also survived by close extended family members Louise, Monique, and Robert, many nieces and nephews, and his step children John, Gilles and Lucien.

Archie was predeceased by his parents Philip and Aniase Ross, his brothers Alex, Edward, and Rene, and his sisters Germaine Durand and Simone LeGal.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Bethesda Hospital Emergency Room for their care and compassion shown to Archie over the last few years.

In accordance with Archie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive, Steinbach.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street; Wpg., MB R3L 0K6

CHARLES EDWARD SOBERING

Charles Edward Sobering passed away peacefully at home on Sunday June 9th, 2013 at the age of 66.

Beloved husband of Paula-Marie. Loved father of Ryan, Scott, Valarie and Paul. Dear brother of Carol (Michael) Cioci. Also survived by his mother-in-law Patricia O'Grady, sister-in-law Margaret (Bryan) Wickware, brothers-in-law Don (Donna) O'Grady and Shawn (Sandra) O'Grady. Charles will also be missed by his 6 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Ed and Adina Sobering and father-in-law Bill O'Grady.

Charles' family will receive relatives and friends at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467 on Thursday June 13, 2013 from 1 - 2:45 pm. A memorial celebration of his life will follow in the chapel at 3 pm with Rev. Mario Hryniewicz officiating. Cremation has taken place.

DOROTHY MARIE PETERS

Dorothy Marie Peters, 87 of Winnipeg formerly of Steinbach, MB passed away Sunday, June 9, 2013 at St. Boniface Hospital. She is survived by her husband Dr. Paul Peters, 2 daughters, 2 sons and their families.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service for Dorothy Marie Peters will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Grace Mennonite Church with ash interment at Heritage Cemetery.

AGATHA HILDEBRAND

Agatha Hildebrand, 87, of Steinbach, MB passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at Rest Haven Nursing Home.

She is survived by six daughters, three sons and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Cornelius E. Hildebrand.

Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the chapel prior to the service.

The funeral service will be held Friday, June 14 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel with interment at the Mitchell CMC Cemetery.

FERNAND PAUL BERARD

On June 9, 2013 surrounded by his family, Fernand passed away peacefully at the DeSalaberry District Hospital in St. Pierre Jolys.

He leaves to mourn his children: Roger (Colette), Maurice (Florence), Norman (Colette) and Louise (Marc) Badiou; grandchildren: Danielle, Julien (Shannon), Chantal, Gabriel (Chantal), Joël, Jilliane, Daphnée and Kasia; great granddaughters Annie and Méline; sister Aline Lahaie; brothers: Jean, Henri, Luc, Réal (Eva), Raymond, Alfred (Suzanne) and sister in law Isabelle Catellier.

Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pierre Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, June 13, 2013. Video at 1:45 p.m. followed by Mass at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the St. Pierre Jolys Cemetery with Father Antoine Vo Van Hoa officiating.

OLGA FREDERICK (NEE BIALLY)

It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Olga Frederick (nee Bially) on June 7, 2013 at the Mountain View Centre in Hinton, AB.

Olga is survived by her son Allan (Beth) Frederick, her grandchildren Allison, Jason (Stephanie), and Rowan. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Helen Bially and Eva Bially, and her nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 19, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach. Interment will follow at the Overstoneville Independence Cemetery.

JOHN REIMER

John Reimer was born September 10, 1938 to Jacob and Anna Reimer in the RM of Stuartburn, Manitoba. He died on June 10th, 2013.

His love for Christ was an example to us which he displayed verbally as well as in his gracious, gentle and loving demeanor. He was someone who would love to come alongside and to help you do whatever it was you were doing, whether you were his child or a neighbor, a sibling or a friend. He had a positive outlook on life that helped him as well as inspired and affirmed others. He will be greatly missed.

Viewing will be held at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach on Thursday, June 13 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Friday, June 14 at 1:00 p.m. also at the Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church with interment at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Cemetery.

GLADYS BARKMAN

Gladys Barkman (Mooney), 93, of Steinbach, formerly of the Clearsprings area passed away peacefully at the Bethesda Hospital on the 14th of June, 2013.

She is survived by 2 sons, Brian (Bev), and Ken; 3 granddaughters, Breann (Tyler), Brenna (Trevor), and Bernna; two great-granddaughters, Emily, and Elliotte. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Dan in 2010, and son, Bill in 1975.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place, and a memorial service was held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at 2:00 p.m.

AGANETHA TEICHROEB
December 11, 1917 – June 15, 2013

Aganetha Teichroeb of Steinbach, MB passed away at the Vita Hospital on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the age of 95 years.

She is survived by four daughters, three sons and their families. She was predeceased by her husband John and three sons.

Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Wednesday, June 19 at 7:00 p.m. with a devotional at 7:30 p.m. and at the church prior to the service.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, June 20 at 2:00 p.m. at the Sommerfeld Mennonite Church, 420 Hespeler in Steinbach, MB with interment at Heritage Cemetery.

RHONDA LeBLANC (nee Reimer).

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a dear and loving person, Rhonda LeBlanc. Rhonda Joy Reimer LeBlanc passed away on June 17th, 2013 at the age of 49.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children Shane, Raeann and Carly, her husband Patrick, her father Ralph Reimer, her siblings, Teresa Friesen (Harry), Marcia Kroeker (Wayne) and Kerry Reimer (Theresa), her nieces and nephews, Nevin Friesen, Cherisse Friesen, Cynthia Plett, Chad Friesen, Kristopher Kroeker, Jason Kroeker, Tessa Reimer, her extended family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her mother, Mildred Reimer.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the LeBlanc Children Care Fund through the Landmark branch of the Niverville Credit Union.

A celebration of Rhonda’s life will be held Thursday, June 20 at the Prairie Rose EMC Church in Landmark.

HELEN DERKSEN
January 2, 1920 - June 18, 2013

On a beautiful sunny day our mom, Helen Derksen (nee Friesen) passed away, having spent the day surrounded by her loving family. Helen died on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the Resthaven Nursing Home, Steinbach, MB. at the age of 93. She was predeceased by her husband Eugene (1994), her parents Peter and Maria Friesen, her sisters Annie and Marie as well as her grandson Brett.

She is survived by her son Rick and his wife Gladys, daughters Marlene and her husband Doug Sobering, Carol and her husband Reg Harder, and Heather and her husband Norman Prost; grandchildren Andrew Derksen and his wife Muriel, Matthew Derksen and his wife Jennifer, Maria Block and her husband Jeff, Steven Sobering and his wife Melanie, Katelyn Prost and her friend Avi Waldman; great grandchildren William, Anna, and Maximilian Derksen and Liam and Callie Sobering, as well as numerous other relatives, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 22 at 1:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, Loewen Blvd., Steinbach, Mb with Mr. Peter Harms officiating. Interment will follow in the Heritage Cemetery. Friends may view prior to the service.

HENRY P. PLETT

Henry P. Plett of Steinbach, formerly of Mennville, MB passed away Friday, June 21, 2013 at Rest Haven Nursing Home at the age of 90 years.

He is survived by one daughter, two sons and their families. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2008.

The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Thursday, June 27 at 5:30 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the Blumenort EMC Church Cemetery.

Margaret Bartel, 83, of Winnipeg, passed away at Concordia Hospital on Saturday, June 22.

She is survived by her brother Alvin Bartel. She was predeceased by her parents John and Elizabeth Bartel; brothers, Harvey, Ervey and Don Bartel.

The memorial service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Drive in Steinbach on Thursday, June 27 at 2:30 p.m.

Anne Giesbrecht, also known as Nancy Ann, 96, of Winnipeg, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Tuxedo Villa in Winnipeg.

She is survived by her three daughters, six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, one brother and two sisters. She was predeceased by her husband Dave and three children.

The funeral will be held Friday, June 28 at 11:00 a.m. at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, with viewing prior to the service.
