Urbain Peter Roels

On Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at the Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, Manitoba, Urbain peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the age of 89 years.

He leaves to cherish his memory five children: Diane and Roland Talbot, Rene and Lorraine Roels, Ernie and Wendy Roels, Harvey and Teresa Roels, John and Marie Roels; 16 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. He also leaves to mourn one brother Prudend and one sister Bertha Ketsman and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Gertrude (nee DeKezel) in 2002, his father Jan Roels in 1972, his mother Celesta (nee De Rycke) in 1976 and by one brother Bert in 1997.

Prayers will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Friday, May 18, 2007 at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Martin of Tours Roman Catholic Church in Swan Lake, Manitoba on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 10 a.m. with Father John T. Nguyen officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the CancerCare Manitoba, Box 2248, Stn Main, Winnipeg, MB R3C 9Z9.

Mary Stahl

Peacefully at the Lorne Memorial Hospital on Sunday, April 29, 2007, Mrs. Mary Stahl of the Evergreen Colony passed away at the age of 89 years.

Funeral Services will be held at the Evergreen Colony on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Evergreen Cemetery.

Albert Ludovic Le Gras

Peacefully and surrounded by family, at Taché Centre, in Winnipeg on April 17, 2007, Mr. Albert Le Gras, previously of St. Claude, Manitoba passed away at the age of 77 years.

He leaves to mourn his wife Thérèse (née Mercier); his seven children Suzanne (Rio), Claude, Jeannine (Gabriel), Robert, Albert Jr. (Tanya), Guy (Eileen), and Diane (Robert); his ten grandchildren Melanie, Corey, Jason, Jennifer, Christina, Maria, Catherine, Dominic, Julie, and Rebecca; and six great-grandchildren Braedyn, Kaelyn, Marianna, Ava, Angeline, and Owen; his three sisters, Henriette (Gabriel) Delaquis, Rolande (Joseph) Pelletier, and Elizabeth Le Gras; three brothers Nicolas (Rita), Fernand (Colette), and André (Ilse); two sisters-in-law Lucina (Henri) and Ilean (Louis); and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

He is predeceased by Émile, Henri, Louis, Armand, Rose and Roland Deshautels, Joseph Pelletier, and by his parents Émile and Marie-Louise Le Gras (née Philippot).

Albert was born on November 17, 1929 at St. Claude, Manitoba. He served as the local police constable and game warden for several years, and worked for the local creamery for 44 years, retiring in 2001. Albert loved to have his children and grandchildren come to visit, to play golf with family and friends, and to travel down South with wife Thérèse in their fifth-wheel trailer. Never one to sit still for long, Albert loved to putter around the yard and on his truck. Albert’s children will remember fondly going out to ‘bat some balls’ in the schoolyard, as well as going camping every summer and the long-distance car trips across Canada.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Father Célestin Malengu Mubaya in the St. Claude Catholic Church on Saturday, April 21, 2007 at 2 p.m. Interment to follow in the St. Claude Parish Cemetery.

Elizabeth Flora McKinney (nee Myerion)
July 7, 1913 - April 15, 2007

Suddenly on April 15, 2007, Elizabeth McKinney passed away at the Notre Dame Foyer.

Eliza leaves to mourn her passing her children: Arthur (Marina), Gladys (Lawrence), Dan, Linda (Tom) and Donna; her sister, Jean Meeches; 67 grandchildren, 146 great-grandchildren, 85 great-great-grandchildren, three great-great-great-grandchildren and numerous friends and relatives.

She was predeceased by her husband William Sr.; her parents: Archie and Flora Myerion; siblings: Flora Merrick, Lucy Walker, Gordon Myerion and Harry Myerion; sons: William Jr., Fred, Tony, Bob, Chief Roy McKinney and grandchildren: Ron, Greg, Lorna, Eileen, Kevin, Leslie; and son-in-law Jerome; as well as other great-grandchildren.

Eliza was born at Long Plain First Nation and moved to Swan Lake First Nation when she married William McKinney Sr. They were married for 57 years and together they raised 10 children and 36 foster-children. Eliza loved all her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Eliza enjoyed gardening, baking, bingo, country music, and hunting with Grandpa.

Koko's home was always filled with the smell of food, laughter, stories, love, and candies hidden under her bed. Her days were often long and filled with baking, cooking, yard-work, gardening, Another World and family.

A Traditional Wake Service and Prayers will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall in Swan Lake Manitoba.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at 2:00 pm at the Swan Lake First Nation Community Hall in Swan Lake, Manitoba. Interment to follow at the Indian Springs Cemetery. Officiating will be Martin French and Rev Alvin Jacobs.

Active Pallbearers are Dusty Hobson, Ryan McKinney, Tommy Walker Jr., Michael McKinney, Mervin Scott and Craig Soldier

Honorary Pallbearers will be all friends and relatives.

Imelda Félicité Marie Pantel (née Labossière)
1915 - 2007

Entourée de sa famille, notre chère petite maman s'est éteinte paisaiblement à l'hôpital générale de Saint-Boniface le samedi 14 avril 2007 à l'âge de 91 ans.

Imelda fut précédé par son époux bien aimé Marcel décédé en 2001; son fils Normand; ses parents Alexandre et Rosilda Labossière; ses frères Walter, Lionel et Aurel; et ses soeurs Gratia, Rosalie, Aurélie, Étiennette, Doralis et Claudette.

Elle laisse dans le deuil ses trois filles, Norma Rocan (Ron), Léa Pantel (Claude) et Jeannette Greaves (Hugh); ses petits enfants, Jeanne Rocan, Claudette Rocan (Tristan Smith), Raymond, Rhéal et Lise Aquin, Marie Bertholette (Derrick), Tom et Marcel Greaves; sa soeur Marie-Rose Brisson; son frère Hermas Labossière; ses belles-soeurs, Cécile Labossière, Rita Pantel et Cécile Phinney; son beau-frère, Pierre Martin ainsi que de nombreux neveux et nièces.

Imelda est née à Saint-Léon le 19 avril 1915. Elle épousa Marcel Pantel en 1938. Ils ont demeuré et élevé leur famille à Somerset. Imelda était une personne pour laquelle sa famille jouait le rôle principal de sa vie. Son dévouement constant envers ses parents, où elle passa d'inombrables heures, était exemplaire de sa patience et de sa grande amour pour eux.

Ses trois filles étaient sa plus grande joie et le centre de sa vie. "Mémère" était aussi très fière de ses petits enfants. Maman était toujours heureuse de nous accueillir et nous nous souviendrons surtout de sa patience, sa douceur et de l'amour qu'elle avait pour tous les enfants.

Imelda était une excellente cuisinère toujours prête à reçevoir sa famille chez elle. Elle aimait bien préparer de nombreuses conserves et confitures chaque année. Imelda avait une grande passion pour les fleurs, surtout les roses. Elle passait bien des heures dans ses jardins de fleurs.

La famille aimerait remercier sincèrement docteure Julie Lévesque et le personnel (6e) de l'Hôpital général Saint-Boniface pour les soins attentifs accordés à Imelda. Merci aussi à Anita, conseillante spirituelle. Un remerciement spécial à Mme Gertrude Dubé pour son amitié et ses nombreuses visites.

Au lieu de fleurs, un don à la mémoire d'Imelda pêut être fait à votre oeuvre de charité de choix. La direction des funérailles a été confiée au Salon mortuaire Adams Funeral Home. Les funérailles auront lieu le 19 avril à 14h à l'Église Notre-Dame de La Nativité, Somerset, MB.

With great sadness, we announce the passing of our dear mother at the St. Boniface General Hospital on April 14 at the age of 91 years.

Imelda was predeceased by her beloved husband Marcel in 2001; her son Normand; her parents Alexandre and Rosilda Labossiere; her brothers Walter, Lionel and Aurel; her sisters Gratia, Rosalie, Aurélie, Étiennette, Doralis, and Claudette.

Imelda was born in St. Léon on April 19, 1915 and married Marcel Pantel in 1938. They lived and raised their family in Somerset. Imelda's life revolved around her family, and her daughters were the centre of her life. Mémère was also very proud of her grandchildren. A selfless caregiver for her parents, she spent countless hours with them.

Imelda was an excellent cook; her preserves and canned goods were appreciated and she always welcomed her family with open arms. She had a passion for flowers, especially roses and her flower beds were a constant source of joy to her.

The family also wishes to thank Dr. Julie Lévesque and the compassionate staff (6th floor) of the St. Boniface General Hospital for the excellent care given to our mother. Thanks is also extended to Anita, spirtual advisor. The friendship and numerous visits by Mrs. Gertrude Dubé were also greatly appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. The funeral mass will be held on April 19 at 2:00 p.m. at the Notre-Dame de La Nativité Church in Somerset, MB.

Sidney Frost

On Thursday, April 12, 2007, Sid Frost passed away at the Seven Oaks Hospital with his family by his side.

He will be greatly missed by his wife, Myrna, his children; Wesley (Jacqueline), Dawn (Richard) and the treasures of his life his grandchildren; Trevor, Jarrett, Jasmine, Kirstyn, Devon, Aaron and Selene.

Family Viewing will be held at Adam’s Funeral Home on Monday, April 16, 2007, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a family Grave Side Service. A Memorial Service will take place Monday, April 16, 2007 at the Rathwell Memorial Hall at 2:00 p.m with Reverend Jim Haupt officiating . Lunch to follow.

Claude Rivard

1931-2007

Peacefully at his home in St. Eustache, Man on Thursday April 12, 2007, Claude left us at the age of 75 years.

He is survived by his caring wife Joyce of 50 years and his children Jacquie Rivard (Tony), Deane Bernardin (Yves) and son Kyle, Glen Rivard (Roma) and children Brook & Taylor, Denis Rivard (Darlene) and children Paige & Dylan, Gina Tavares (Carlos) and children Cole & Megan. His grandchildren brought much joy into his life. He is survived by his sisters Yvette Gillis, Yvonne Prive, and Claudette Trottier. Predeceased by his parents Joseph & Annette and sisters Cecile & Jeannine.

Dad owned his own backhoe service for many years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, and country life. He will be sadly missed by many.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Eustache Roman Catholic Church on Monday, April 16, 2007 at 2 p.m. with Father Mike Nwosu officiating. Interment to follow in the Parish Cemetery.
