Werner Siegfried Ott
Peacefully on June 8, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. Werner Siegfried Ott entered into rest at the East View Lodge, Neepawa, Manitoba.
Werner was born in Triebes, Germany on August 8, 1929. He immigrated to Canada on May 6, 1951 and landed in Halifax then worked for a farmer in Anherst, Nova Scotia. After a year he then continued on to Sudbury, Ontario where he worked as a miner at Falconbridge Nickel Mine.
On March 17, 1956 in Winnipeg, Manitoba he married Anne Ott. They bought a farm in the Glenella area and moved to the farm in April 1958. Werner continued to work at various jobs before the farm was in a productive state. He continued to live on the farm until his health started failing. He had three heart attacks and by-pass surgery in 2002. Werner had a couple of strokes which landed him in the Neepawa Hospital on April 13, 2004. He spent 6 months in Brandon Hospital before moving to East View Lodge on November 16, 2004.
Left to mourn his passing is his wife Anne; sons Richard (Debbie), and Lester (Juanita); daughters Denise (Wes), and Darlene (Rob); grandchildren Christopher, Stephen, Lisa, Nicole, Adam, and Tara; one niece and two nephews in Germany; brothers in-law Henry (Marian), and John (Dora); as well as 2 nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Funeral service was held Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Glenella Community Hall with Rev. George Cargo officiating. Presiding at the organ was Edna Single.

Barbara May Parsons
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Barb Parsons, a wonderful wife, sister, mother and grandmother, on Monday, June 4, 2007.
Barb was predeceased by her parents Clarence & Pearl Cory and one sister Ritabelle Cory.
Barb is survived by her husband Norm Parsons, daughter Tammy Martel, son Robert Rozell, and many grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She also leaves her brothers and sisters Garnet Cory, Donnie Cory, Ronnie Cory, June Renes, Marie Wright, Wayne Cory, Clarence Cory, and Dave Cory.
Barb was born on May 6, 1945 in Dunbarton, Ontario and grew up in southern Ontario. She moved to Manitoba in the early 1980’s where she met her loving husband Norm Parsons in the early 1990’s and the two newlyweds have lived in the Gladstone area ever since.
Barb will be greatly missed by all of her friends and family. She is missed but will never be forgotten as her love and friendship has touched our hearts and left us with many great memories to take with each and everyone of us. God Bless You Barb.
Funeral service was held on Friday, June 8, 2007 at the Gladstone United Church with Rev. Ian Olive officiating. Honourary pallbearers were Dennis Loney, Chris & Kathy Bales, Marland & Jean Stewart, Anita & Lance Allan and Ollie Meyer. Interment followed at the Gladstone Cemetery.

Beatrice Marie Fraser (Rosset)
Bea was born on October 2, 1928 in Haywood, Manitoba. She passed away peacefully at the Brandon Regional Health Centre on Monday, May 28, 2007, with family members at her side.
She leaves to mourn her husband Joe of 57 years, son Ronald (Pam) of Oklahoma City, daughter Beverly (Walter) of Gladstone, son Brian of Calgary, sister Claudia Kenny of Phelpston, Ontario, brothers Andre (Louise) of St. Claude, Manitoba, Charles (Ghislaine) of Chertsey, Quebec, Guy (Emmy) of Burnaby, B.C., brother and sister-in-law Mick (Madeline) Fraser of Carman, Manitoba, aunt Helen Perroud of St. Claude, Manitoba and uncle Charlie Perroud of Thunder Bay, Ontario, 7 grandchildren Robbie, Chris, Jennifer, Crystal, David, Michelle, and Tyler, 9 great grandchildren Bradley, Tayler, Prentice, Nika, Shante, Rashaan, Lauren, Mathew, and Sydney.
Bea was predeceased by her mother and father, Claude & Andrée Rosset, and two sisters Salonge and Blanche.
Bea was a past president of and a 20 year membership chairman of Gladstone Branch #110 of the Royal Canadian Legion of which she was a 27 year very active member. She was a 44 year member, Past Honoured Royal Lady and Life Member of Gladstone Lodge #119 Order of the Royal Purple.
Bea was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be missed by all who knew her.
Funeral service was held on Friday, June 1, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Ian Olive officiating. Interment followed in the Gladstone Cemetery.

Anna Friesen
Suddenly on May 13, 2007 at Portage General Hospital, Anna age 4 years passed away.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Reinland Church, Austin, Manitoba. Interment followed at the Reinland Cemetery.

Walter Hudey
Walter Hudey Walter passed away on Thursday April 19, 2007, at Snow Lake, Manitoba.
Wally was predeceased by his parents, Mike and Dora; brothers, Peter, John, and Stan; sisters Marie, Ann and Helen; also three brothers-in-law.
He leaves to mourn his passing, his brother Steve [Ceone] in Brandon, and many nieces and nephews.
Walter attended school in Neepawa, MB, and worked there for several years. After leaving Neepawa, he worked in several mines in Canada. Recently he worked at the mine in Snow Lake, MB, until its closing. Wally remained at Snow Lake where he had many friends. He enjoyed sports on TV, a social cup of coffee as well as quading.
Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will take place at a later date in Neepawa, MB.

Martin Penner
Peacefully with his family by his side, Martin Penner passed away at Boundary Trails Health Centre on Tuesday, April 3, at the age of 76 years.
Dad was born on July 13, 1930 in Chortitz, Manitoba to Isaac & Maria Penner. He was the third oldest of seven brothers and seven sisters. He was predeceased by his wife Marge, both parents, and brother Ike.
Left to cherish his memory are four children. Sons Murray (Kathy) and Garry both of Gladstone, and daughters Marlene (Allan) Siemens and family Amy, Mark, Chad, and Heidi of Morris, and Yvonne (Danny) Kaye of Lockport. He also leaves to mourn six brothers, seven sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nephews and nieces and many friends.
Dad started working for local farmers in his early teens in the Winkler and Manitou area. When he was in his twenties he had the opportunity to join a surveying crew in Southern British Columbia. He would later tell many stories of this adventure. Dad returned to Manitoba and was baptized on confession of his faith. Soon after he married the love of his life, Marge Neufeld in November 1955.
Dad spent the first years of their marriage trucking, operating heavy machinery, body shop work and landscaping. However, he had a strong resolve to be self employed as a farmer and in October 1966 Dad moved his family to Gladstone, Manitoba. Despite many hardships, Dad felt blessed to be able to have his family work together in a mixed farming operation. During these years Dad grew closer to the Lord and was grateful for a solid Bible believing church which he and his family could be part of.
After retirement Dad was able to spend more time restoring antique cars and traveling with Mom. In 2003 they decided to relocate to Morden, Manitoba and Dad started building their new home. At this time Mom passed away and after 47 years of marriage, Dad moved to Morden alone. Although this was a difficult time for Dad, his strong faith in God together with the support of family and friends he began a new chapter in his life. Dad loved to make new friends and get reacquainted with many more from the past. Soon after he started volunteering in the wood working department at MCC in Winkler. This would prove to give him much joy and purpose.
On September 1, 2006, Dad was diagnosed with lung cancer. He graciously accepted what God had in store for him. He often talked about Heaven and seeing Jesus face to face. Dad really appreciated the love and compassion that was shown by family, friends and neighbors. He inspired many with his wit and amazing sense of humor. People often commented on how they were encouraged after visiting him.
Dad’s true desire in life was to see his children and grandchildren walk with the Lord. We will remember Dad as a man with skillful hands and tenacious spirit. By example, he instilled in his children a solid work ethic and a never give up attitude. As he always said, “If it’s impossible it just takes a little longer.” We love you Dad!
The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff for the exceptional care Dad received during his stay at Boundary Trails Health Centre.
Funeral service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gladstone Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Randy Fehr officiating. Presiding at the organ will be Rhonda Martens and presiding at the piano will be Pam Schettler. Ushers are John Froese, Jon Martens, and Alan Warkentin. Pallbearers are Allan Siemens, Mark Siemens, Chad Siemens, Danny Kaye, Cornie Martens and Cornie Wolfe. Interment will follow at the Gladstone Cemetery.

Lucille Waterston
It is with sad hearts, and over whelming sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, and sister Lucille Waterston age 69 years of Winnipeg. On August 19, 2007 at the Concordia Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba, with her granddaughter Camilla by her side, Lucille went to her eternal home.
Lucille was born June 19, 1938 in Langruth, Manitoba.
She leaves to mourn her passing her children Maggie Roulette (Gordon Demerais) of Sandy Bay, Manitoba, Robert Waterston of Langruth, Manitoba, Jim (Marlene) Waterston of Winnipeg, Manitoba, William (Willy) Waterston (Deborah) of Amaranth, Manitoba, Bonnie Waterston (Andy Bates) of Plumas, Manitoba, and Lucille Waterston (Ivan Henton) of Gladstone, Manitoba; grandchildren Camilla (Dan) Hoeppner of Winnipeg, Bradley Roulette (Sandra) of Portage, Christopher, Avery, and Kennedy Waterston of Plumas, Adison, Ashley, and Ryan Waterston of Winnipeg; great-grandchildren, Jordan, William, Jennifer, and Alyssa Hoeppner all of Winnipeg and Brittany and Brandy of Langruth; brothers Clifford (Shirley) Roulette of Sandy Bay, and Russell Roulette of Winnipeg, as well as sister Rose Lacquette of Amaranth. Also left to mourn her passing are many nieces and nephews, friends and family too numerous to mention.
Lucille was predeceased by her first husband Sandy Waterston in 2002; her parents Elizabeth and Sam; brothers Eugene Roulette and Camille Roulette and sister Gertie Roulette.
Friends and family whom are not mentioned are considered honorary pallbearers.
A wake will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2007 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Sandy Bay Elders Centre.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Sandy Bay, with Father Roy George Vazhaplankudiyil officiating. Interment will follow in the Langruth Cemetery.

Maude Emma Turner (Towle)
Passed away at the MacGregor Personal Care Home on Friday, August 17, 2007, Maude Turner, age 94 years. She was born on April 26, 1913 and lived in the MacGregor district all her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing her son Bill, daughter Anne and husband Edward Kumhyr, grandchildren Barrie (Judy), Bryce (Joyce), and Brad (Sharon) Scora, Brian, Les (Donna), and Nadine Kumhyr, great grandchildren Philip, Collette, Derrick, Blake, Devon, Mitchell, Chelsea, Cody, and Tyler Scora, and Carter Kumhyr, sister Dorothy (Clarence) Perkins, and brothers Fred and Charles Towle.
Maude was predeceased by her parents, husband Jim, daughter Ruth Scora, four sisters, and three brothers.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will be held.
All attended a reception on Friday, August 31, 2007 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the MacGregor Drop In Centre.

Passed away at the Carberry Hospital on Sunday, August 12, 2007, Katerina Wiebe, age 90 years, of Austin, Manitoba, beloved mother of Elma and Ben (Betty).
Friends called for visitation on Wednesday evening, August 15, 2007 from 5:00 - 7:30 p.m. at Clarke's Funeral Chapel, MacGregor.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, August 16, 2007 at 2:30 p.m. at the MacGregor Sommerfeld Church. Interment followed in the Sommerfeld Cemetery, Austin.
