HARRY RUDY
Suddenly at his daughter's home in Winnipeg, Man., Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, our beloved father and Gigi passed away at the age of 82 years. He was predeceased by his wife Nellie on April 28, 2003.
Dad was born in Vita, Man. He married Nellie Serman Oct. 22, 1944 and together they raised their three children on their farm in Zhoda, Man. Dad loved planting and growing things and reaping their rewards. He could often be found in his workshop working on one of his many projects.
In recent years Dad and Mom moved to Steinbach, Man. to spend their senior years.
Dad will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by daughter Patricia Serman of Winnipeg; two sons, Russell (Dorothy) of Steinbach and Larry (Pam) of Marchand, Man.; his grandchildren, Jackie, Candace, Dana, Kris, Jamin and Jordan; step-grandchildren, Bradley and Eric; one step-great-grandson Zachery; one brother Tony Rudy of Winnipeg; many nieces, nephews, family and friends.
The funeral service was held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Monday, Nov. 24, 2003. Interment at Heritage Cemetery.

JOHN CHARNEY
Dec. 25, 1922 - Nov. 24, 2003
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of John Charney at his residence in Menisino, Man., Nov. 24, 2003.
He leaves to mourn one brother Bill (Geraldine); sisters, Doreen (William), Ann (Charlie), Nellie (Peter), Mary; numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.
John was born to Frank and Mary Chorney on Dec. 25, 1922 in Arbakka, Man., after which they moved to Middlebro, Man., and then to Sundown, Man., where John attended school. In 1936 they moved to Menisino, where he remained until his passing. He was employed with C.P. Railroad on the Extra Gang from 1956 till his retirement from the railroad in 1969.
John enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, feeding wild turkeys, his dog, sawing and chopping wood with his axe and swede saw. He always had the coffee on the cookstove, ready to share some good old stories.
A funeral service for John will be held Nov. 27, 2003 at the Vita Bible Church in Vita, Man., with James Mack officiating. Viewing will take place one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Norwegian Cemetery North of Menisino.

ANTONIN (TONY) DUHAMEL
1919 - 2003
Peacefully, Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at the Youville Nursing Home in Ste. Anne, Man., Antonin (Tony) Duhamel passed away with his family by his side.
Tony was born April 7, 1919, in La Broquerie, Man. He was predeceased by his father Joseph; mother Constance (Pierson); two brothers, Louis and Adelard; and two sisters, Josy and Adele. He leaves to mourn, six nephews and four nieces and their families.
Tony moved to Montmarte, Sask. at the age of 1 and then to Gravelbourg, Sask., where he grew up and graduated from the Collège Matthew. He received his degree of education at the University of Manitoba and post-graduate degrees at the University of Ottawa.
He was a schoolteacher, principal and school inspector in many schools, rural communities and in Winnipeg, Man., until his retirement in 1983.
In 1969 Tony proudly purchased 29 acres in Marchand, Man., affectionately known as "The Ranch" on the original Dawson Trail Road - traveled by his ancestors.
Over the years he was active in the Knights of Columbus, St Jean Baptiste Society, La Broquerie Church Parish Council and choir, liturgy coordinator, trustee and chairman of St. Jean Vianney Parish, Marchand, Man., member of the Wildlife Association, "President of One-Eyed Peacock Association", member of Marchand Community Club and Marchand correspondent for The Carillon.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Gobeil and the wonderful nursing staff at Youville for their care and compassion. A special thank you to Sister Irene Rioux for her love, songs and prayers for Tony.
A prayer service will be held in Steinbach at Loewen Funeral Chapel, Thursday, Nov. 27 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral mass will be held in the La Broquerie Roman Catholic Church, Friday, Nov. 28 at 11 a.m., co-celebrated by Father Fréchette, Father Léonel Demont O.M.I. and Father Gérald Labossière O.M.I. officiating. Interment will follow in the local cemetery.

DEANNE LINDSAY TOPNIK
With profound sadness, the family announces the sudden passing of Deanne, Oct. 29, 2003.
In the prime of her life, she was taken away from her loving family and friends. Left to cherish her memory is her mother Barb Murray (Gus); father Howard Topnik (Shirley Ganske); brother Cam; Granny Elsie Topnik and Deanne's boyfriend Kevin Bryk. She will also be sadly missed by all her cousins, aunts, uncles and many dear friends and co-workers.
Deanne was predeceased by her Grandpa Jake Topnik in May, 2003.
Deanne was born Nov. 28, 1981 in Winnipeg. She lived and attended school in the Norwood area and graduated from Nelson McIntyre Collegiate. She was currently attending the University of Manitoba Faculty of Science, working towards a medical lab technician degree.
Deanne was extremely loving, friendly, generous and outgoing. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was a shining light to all who knew her. Her bubbly personality was an inspiration to all. Deanne was an avid reader, excellent swimmer and enjoyed spending time at the farm and the lake. To Deanne, all animals were "so cute" and were keepers. Deanne's artistic flair was evident in her fine needlework, paintings, calligraphy and her writings. She met many challenges and became the independent, bright, loving soul we will always remember. Deanne, you were a precious sister, daughter, granddaughter and cousin. We will always love and miss you. May you rest peacefully.
A celebration of Deanne's life was held Monday, Nov. 3, 11 a.m., in the Beautiful Saviour Church, 1541 St Mary's Rd., Winnipeg.

HARVEY JOHN HILL
Peacefully, with his family by his side, Dad passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003 at the St Boniface Hospital, at the age of 67.
Harvey was predeceased by his wife Josephine (Feb. 2003); his parents William and Evelyn; and brother Herbert.
Dad will be sadly missed by children Greg, Heather and husband Lionel Boulet, Denis, and David and wife Karen, as well as sister Denise McLaughlin. Grandpa will also be fondly remembered by Britney, Dylan and Stefan Boulet, and by in-laws George and Doreen Howatt, as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Harvey was born April 25, 1936 in Neepawa, Man. Dad worked for PFRA on the construction crew and Langford Community Pasture. After Harvey and Josie were married, they moved to Gardenton, Man., where he took on the position of PFRA Pasture Manager for both the Gardenton and Pansy Pastures, and resided there since.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral services will be held Friday, Nov. 7, at Neepawa United Church, 475 Mountain Ave., Neepawa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7.
We would like to thank the St Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion throughout Dad's stay there.

HENRY A. REIMER

It has pleased our Heavenly Father to call home his faithful servant, Henry A. Reimer, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. He passed away peacefully Oct. 25, 2003 at Rest Haven Nursing Home in Steinbach, Man., surrounded by loved ones.
Dad was born in Giroux, Man., May 27, 1914 to Abram P. and Anna Reimer. He married Tena Neufeld on Nov. 2, 1947. They lived in Steinbach all their married life, until she passed away just before their 50th wedding anniversary.
Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife Tena, six brothers and four sisters. He will be lovingly remembered by: son Ken and Grace Reimer and their family, Christy and Stephen, Sarah and Joshua; Shannon and Jason, Hannah; Suzanne; daughter Gloria and Abe Derksen and their family, Angela and Noah; Jennifer and Trevor, Abbilgail and Bethany; Josy and Bernard. He is also survived by four sisters, Katherine Toews, Minna Anthony, Helen (Alex) Tarasenco, Margaret Kroeker; and one sister-in-law, Mary Reimer; many nieces, nephews, as well as mom's family and many friends.
Special thanks to Dad's friends who faithfully visited him or took him out, especially Peter K. Reimer and Margaret and Denis Cote. We also wish to thank Dr. Kaethler and the Bethesda Hospital and Rehab staff and Home Care staff who took special care of Dad at Ken and Grace's. Finally, our heartfelt thanks to the Rest Haven staff and Dr. Krahn for their loving care.

NELLIE KREMENIUK
Nellie Elizabeth was one of 17 children born to Charles and Isabel Draycott, Aug. 21, 1914 at Fort Pit, Sask.
She is survived by sons "Cocie" Draycott (wife Annie) of Yorkton, Sask.; Arthur Dustow (wife Gail) of Marwayne, Sask.; Gerald Gullickson (wife Elaine) of Landmark, Man.; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and their families.
For many years Mom worked as a cook in logging camps and for the Department of Highways in Jasper, Alta., where she met her husband Steve Kremeniuk. Both of them worked together for some 47 years in British Colombia, at service stations in White Rock, Langley, and Mission.
After retirement they traveled extensively until health problems arose with her legs. Mom has been severely restricted to her home in Landmark area for the last 13 months and with a weak heart, passed away Monday, Nov. 3 at 8 a.m., and was 89 years young.

ANNIE PLETT
Annie Plett was born Sept. 6, 1909 to Peter R. and Anna Penner in Clearspring, Man. She passed away and was reunited with her husband and other loved ones in the presence of her Saviour, Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003. She grew up in Blumenort, Man., in the home of her parents. Her father was the owner of the gravel pits, owned a general store and was a pig farmer. She attended school up to grade 5 in the Blumenort School. As a teenager she did housework in the Blumenort area. She was baptized by her uncle upon the confession of her faith at the age of 17 in the Blumenort Kleine Gemeinde. She lived out this faith the rest of her life.
She married her friend and sweetheart, Abram K. Plett in Blumenort on May 5, 1929. They began married life on the Plett family farm in Blumenhof, Man. A few years later they moved to Prairie Rose, Man. with their first two children to begin farming on their own. After they moved to Landmark, Man., nine more children were born to them. Her quiet strong faith pointed her children at an early age to the God that she worshipped. She spent many hours in prayer for all her children and in later years also for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her many handmade gifts and birthday cards made us all feel special. She lost her beloved husband of almost 54 years on April 6, 1983. Although she felt the loss very deeply, she enjoyed many more meaningful years. Two and a half years ago her health started to fail.
She grieved the loss of her two sons, one son-in-law, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She will be missed by six daughters, three sons, two daughters-in-law, and their families, one sister, one brother, one brother-in-law, one sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service was held at the Prairie Rose E.M.C., Landmark, Man., Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, with interment at the church cemetery.

ALICE DESROSIERS (nee Laurendeau)
Sept. 12, 1923 - Sept. 29, 2004
Peacefully, Sept. 29, at the Ste Anne Hospital, surrounded by her family, Alice entered her eternal home, at the age of 81.
Alice will be sadly missed by her children: Louis (Linda), Denis (Suzanne), Marie (Roland) Petit, Andre (Merle), Carmelle (Daniel) Bernard, Colombe (Ben) Kehler, Jacques (Helena), Mariette (Rolland) Sarrasin, Claude (Denise); 26 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Gratia Boisjolie and Ernestine Verrier, as well as her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
She was predeceased by her husband Rosaire in January, 2004; her parents, Rose-Alma and Pamphille Laurendeau; her sister, Alma Seewald; her brothers, Adélard, Wilfred, and Raoul; her infant daughter, Marie-Ange; her son-in-law, Norbert Lemoing; and her granddaughter Joséphine.
A celebration of Alice's life was held Sunday, Oct. 3, 7:30 p.m., in the Ste Anne Catholic Church. A mass of resurrection was held Monday, Oct. 4, at 10:30 a.m., with Father René Chartier officiating. Interment followed in the Parish Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the doctors of the Ste Anne Hospital, especially Dr. Paul de Moissac, for their compassionate care, as well as the nurses for their support and tender, loving care. Special thanks to the home care workers at the Villa Youville for their caring and love. We would also like to thank Sr. Rioux, Sr. Forest, Father René Chartier, and Msgr. Albert Fréchette for their love and prayers.

ULRIC PERRIN
After a brief and courageous battle with cancer, Ulric Perrin, 64, of Ste. Anne, Man., passed away peacefully at his home, with family by his side, Oct. 6, 2004.
Besides being a jack of all trades, Ulric pastored in northern Alberta and Ste. Genevieve for 16 years.
He was predeceased by his parents, Tobie and Léona; and brother Bernard. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Claudette; two daughters, Nicole (Dennis) Larsen, Carmelle (Darwin) Daniels; four sons, Marc (Kristy), Normand (Sandra), David, Garrin; 13 grandchildren; four brothers; one sister; and many close loved ones too numerous to mention.
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Saturday, Oct. 9 from 7 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, Man., Sunday, Oct. 10 at 2 p.m., with viewing prior to the service. Interment at Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Cemetery.
