TUNNEY REIMER
Tunney (Tony) was born to Peter F. and Margaret (Penner) Reimer in our family home on the farm in the Clearspring district on Jan. 25, 1928, and went to his eternal home Dec. 2, 2004.
His teen years were spent helping to work the family farm in Blumenort, Man. Off-times he worked at various jobs, including a few winters in lumber camps, and a few years as the tinsmith at Plett Brothers in Blumenort. In 1950 he took over the family farm, which he operated for about 10 years. Later he worked for many years at the Blumenort Co-op Poultry Processing Plant.
Most of his adult life he lived with Mother in her little home in Steinbach, Man., bringing in the groceries and taking care of the physical needs of the house while she cooked for him and did his laundry. Later, he lived in the house for a number of years by himself, until deteriorating health made it hard for him to manage by himself. More recently he has lived in a unit at Ashwood Apartments, receiving excellent care from the Steinbach homecare staff.
Having always been hard of hearing, and progressively so with the years, he developed some reclusive tendencies, and personal struggles in relating to people. In later years, however, he increasingly showed that he sincerely valued his family and friends, and deeply appreciated when they dropped in to see him. However, people had difficulty communicating with him as he became almost totally deaf.
Tunney was predeceased by his parents; one sister, Esther Koop; two nieces, Frances Heppner and Ferna Wiebe; and two brothers-in-law, Eric Marner and John Wiebe.
He leaves to mourn his departure, three sisters, Carolina Marner, Anne Wiebe and Adeline (Abe) Wiebe; one brother, Edward (Evelina); one brother-in-law, Peter (Elizabeth) Koop; and a number of nieces and nephews and their families.
Tunney's family is deeply grateful to the following for the thoughtful and dedicated care you gave to our brother in his later years: each member of the homecare staff at Ashwood Apartments, Dr. Curtis Krahn, and the staff at Bethesda Hospital during his frequent stays there.
The funeral was held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach, Monday, Dec. 6, with interment at Blumenort Cemetery.

REV. BEATRICE IRENE HUMPHRIES
After a lengthy illness, our loving wife, mother and grandmother passed on to be with the Lord Jesus Christ, Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Man., with her loving family and friends by her side.
Irene was born in St. Thomas, Ont., March 20, 1950 to John and Gerda Haight. She was the middle child of three, an older sister Dorothy and younger brother Gary who live in St. Thomas. At the age of 12, after hearing John 3:16 in Sunday School, she invited Christ to come into her heart as her Lord and Savior while walking home from church. She said it was like receiving "liquid sunshine all over her." Irene graduated from Arthur Voaden Secondary School in 1970 where she lived in Union, Ont.
She then went on to complete a Registered Nursing Assistant program course at Simcoe, Ont. After graduation she then worked in the Toronto, Ont. area for a short period of time. From there she worked for Jesus to the Communist World, which today is called Voice of the Martyrs. She was also involved as a summer missionary for Child Evangelism.
Even as a young teenager she felt a call to missions, but it was not till the latter years of her life when she began to fulfill that dream to travel and teach as a missionary.
During the "Jesus People Movement", while Irene was working as a volunteer in a coffee house ministry, she met a street evangelist named Jimmer (James Humphries). They were married six weeks later on July 8, 1972. This was an exciting time because Irene's home church was experiencing revival under the ministry of the Sutera twins.
Over the years Irene has served in a variety of ministries. The first was developing and producing a children's television program called the Happiness Club. From there she was involved in a church plant in Port Stanley, Ont. With her husband, they have pastored in Fingal, Ont., Ernfold, Sask., Fort McMurray, Alta., and three different opportunities in Steinbach, Man. In 1996, she became co-founder and co-director of Project LAMBS International. This led to writing and teaching in Jamaica, Mexico, Ukraine, Germany, Myanmar, Israel and throughout Canada and the United States.
In April 2000 she was ordained by the Independent Assemblies of God in Jamaica, in Canada under the Fellowship of Christian Ministries by Pastor Peter Broesky, and the Fellowship of Christian Assemblies by Dayspring Fellowship in Ste. Anne, Man.
Irene was an accomplished artist, poet and writer - receiving various awards throughout her life.
Over the same period of time, Irene completed a course at Winnipeg South Technical School in production art and a business course at the Federal Business Development Bank. Irene has also taken courses from Ontario Bible College, Prairie Bible Institute and Briercrest Bible College. In 2001 Irene graduated with her MA degree in Global Christian Studies with a minor in TESL form Providence Theological Seminary.
In the fall of 2002 Irene had emergency surgery, which showed that she had an extensive case of ovarian cancer. She was greatly helped by the new Palliative Care Program in Manitoba. For a period of time God gave her extra days to continue to minister and travel twice to Jamaica as well as Myanmar. Cancer came back again in October 2004 with much pain and challenges. The last number of months were very stressful for Irene because the cancer pain was very hard to control.
She leaves to mourn her passing her beloved husband of 33 years, Jim; son Joshua and daughter-in-law Donna; daughter Rachel and son-in-law Kobbie; grandchildren, Adrienna, Jeremy, Sadie, Tyah and Anna-Irene and son-in-law James. She was predeceased by her father, John Haight, in 1996 and by her mother, Gerda Haight, in 1997.
Irene and James and the family wish to extend special thanks to all the many friends who helped us walk this challenging journey. To her care coach Matilda Fehr, as well as Dr. Krahn and Anne Plett, for all the long hours of ministry and help. To the CancerCare staff of nurses and doctors we say thank you. Also, a special thanks to all the doctors and staff at St. Boniface Hospital, who with much care, love and gentleness, ministered and served Irene with great affection in those last 2 1/2 weeks. We as a family are greatly indebted to you all.
The funeral took place at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, March 15. Interment at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach, Man.
In memory of Irene, donations may be made to Project LAMBS "Memorial Fund" to commemorate the memory of Irene and her service for the Lord Jesus Christ as a teacher and servant. GORDON GIBSON
Peacefully, surrounded by family, Gordon Gibson, aged 68 years, passed away Monday, March 14, 2005 at Bethesda Hospital, Steinbach, Man.
He is lovingly remembered by his beloved wife of 41 years, Esther; one son, Kevin (Reagan) and their children Spencer and Alexandra of Winnipeg, Man.; and one daughter, Tannis (Corey) Nichol and their children Matthew and Emma of Saskatoon, Sask. He is also survived by one sister, Geraldine (Jim) Sigvaldason of Dauphin, Man.; sisters-in-law, Marti (Rufus) Derksen, Erna (Curly) Martens, Sandi (Norm) Senkiw, all of Steinbach; and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and also his mother and father-in-law.
Gordon was born May 9, 1936 in Inglis, Man. He started off a career with the Royal Bank of Canada and later moved on with the Great West Life Insurance Company, Royal Canadian Mint, and then ventured into the auto industry as a business manager and sales rep.
In 1964 he married his true love, Esther Funk. They had two children, who were the pride and joy of his life. He was also grateful to have enjoyed his four grandchildren.
Gordon loved sports and excelled in hockey as a defenseman, fastball as a pitcher and curling as a skip.
Gordon was a member of the United Church of Canada and served in various areas of the church and had a strong faith in God.
Gordon ventured on a long, courageous journey with Alzheimer's. He was always so open about his struggles and hardships and was given so much support from those who knew him. Gordon was blessed to be able to live at home and received the ultimate in care, love, respect and understanding from Esther throughout his journey.

The funeral service will be held Friday, March 18, 2 p.m., at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, 150 Penfeld Dr., Steinbach, Man. Viewing will be at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Thursday, March 17, 7 p.m., with a brief devotional at 7:30 p.m. Interment at Heritage Cemetery.

JACK R. WOLFE
Oct. 20, 1947 - Feb. 15, 2005
A commemorative service celebrating the life of Jack Wolfe will be held at the Evangelical Free Church in Steinbach, Man., March 20, 2005 at 4 p.m. It will be a chance for loved ones and friends to reflect on Jack's life. A video of Jack's funeral will be shown, since some were unable to attend his funeral, which was held Feb. 21 in Calgary, Alta.
COLE DANIEL FRIESEN

Our son, Cole Daniel, completed our family on Feb. 21, 2004. He, being the fourth child, received and gave much love, joy and attention. He made this world a beautiful place for his family. He was a wonderful, content baby. We know that he was a piece of heaven and a special gift from God. Cole was just starting to experience the joy of walking and the freedom it gave him to explore the world (like getting to the open dishwasher). Cole made you feel like you were the special person he was waiting to see and he was always ready for a good giggle.
The joys he brought to us as a family, the good times he generated, and the radiance that flowed from his heart, and hopes we had of his influence for good in this world, made this heartbreaking accident more difficult. Saturday morning, March 12, 2005, at approximately 9:30 a.m., Cole went home to be with Jesus. The one year and 19 days we shared with him leave us with precious memories and we thank God for each and every one of them.
He will be greatly missed by us, his parents, Jeff and Janet Friesen; his siblings, Keara, Karlee and Dean; both grandparents, Dick and Betty Friesen and Peter and Anne Harder; one great-grandmother, Mary Toews; aunts and uncles and cousins, Tony, Mona and Rick; Lavern and Joelah, Lauren, Iain, and Vaughn; Barry and Norine, Sharayah, Jayden and Myka; Dwayne and Sheila, Ty, Tess and Romi; Mat and Carmelle, Tanner and Declyn; Paul and Bev, Sarah, Lisa, Ryan and Marissa; Ron and Phyllis, Justin, Kristin and Kayla; Ken and fiancé Sarah.
We wish to express our gratitude to our families, friends, medical staff, first responders, John and Gary, also Officer Blanchette, whose kindness was greatly appreciated.

ANNA FRIESEN
Peacefully, with her children at her side, Mrs Anna Friesen went home to be with her Lord. After almost 93 years, March 11, 2005 was the final day of her journey here on earth.
Funeral service and interment was held March 15, 2005 at the Rosengard CMC, with Rev. John Rempel officiating.
She was predeceased by her loving husband, John G Friesen, on March 6, 1989. She leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Mary and Ernie Klassen and Anne and Jac Hiebert; one son, John Friesen and daughter-in-law Jessica Howard; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Justina Broesky and Anne Krahn; and one aunt, Agatha Dueck.
Special thanks to Larry Hirst and the staff at Bethesda Place for the loving way you met her physical and spiritual needs.

1917 - 2005
Ernest Heise of Grunthal, Man., formerly of Pansy, Man., passed away at Grunthal Menno Home, Wednesday, March 9, 2005 at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife Anna; one son, Paul (Cheryl); two stepdaughters, Erica (Irving) Jathan and Rosemarie (John) Blach; and five grandchildren, Karl, Kayla, Amber, Michael and Cody.
The funeral service was held Monday, March 14 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, Man., with interment at Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, Winnipeg, Man.

JOSEPH BIALKOWSKI
It is with great sadness that we announce that Joe Bialkowski of Roseau River, Man. passed away peacefully, March 15, 2005, with his children by his side.
Dad is survived by his children: Eugene, Joan (Glenn), Janet, Elsie (Jerry); six grandchildren: Candace, Damian, Janine, Tyson, Owen and Reiss; brother Stafford Bialkowski; brother-in-law Adam Lischynski; sister-in-law Emily Bialkowski; and many nieces and nephews.
Dad was predeceased by his wife Anne (nee Kohut), Feb 6, 2005; son Nestor in infancy; parents, Mike and Mary (nee Goy) Bialkowski; parents-in-law, Steve and Pearl (nee Koroliuk) Kohut; sisters-in-law, Mary Lischynski and Lena (Bill) Yasinski; brothers, Paul, Peter, Walter (Emily) and John.
Dad was born in Woodmore, Man., Oct. 13, 1914. He married the love of his life, Anne, May 4, 1946, moved to Winnipeg, Man. for a couple of years, then moved back to the country, where Dad settled in Roseau River where he loved farming and gardening. Dad drove school bus for Boundary School Division for 10 years while farming. Dad also worked on construction with numerous companies, custom harvesting and mining. Dad had many passions, including cooking, visiting with company, playing cards, wildlife, listening to Ukrainian music, and Ukrainian dancing. His pride and joy was when his children and grandchildren came to visit.
The family would like to express a heartfelt thank-you to the caregivers during the last couple of years, to Vita Emergency Service, Dr. Strank of St. Pierre Hospital and Dr. Arrezaghi of Vita & District Hospital.
Viewing will be held Friday, March 18, 2005, 7 p.m., at Steinbach Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2005, 10 a.m., at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church in Stuartburn, Man., with interment at Plankey Plains Cemetery following the service.

Dad, you will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. We know you are back with your love, only a few weeks could keep you apart.

BARRY FRATTINGER
Tragically, we announce the passing of our husband, father, son and brother, Barry James Gervais Frattinger, March 22, 2005, at the intersection of PR 302 and Marchand Road. Barry died accidentally at the young age of 44 years.
Barry will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of nearly 25 years, Carol; daughter Stephanie and son Matthew; parents, Paul and Jean Frattinger; three brothers, Randy, Pierre (Bernice) and Bruce; five sisters, Cheryl Lynn (Noel), Melanie, Gale (Nick), Twylla and LauraLee (Ron); mother-in-law Stella Chopyk; five sisters-in-law, Marie, Wilma (Garth), Pat (Winston), Olga and Connie (Tom); and one brother-in-law, John (Rose); along with numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and countless friends. He was predeceased by his son Steven in 1983 and his father-in-law in 1989.
The funeral service will be held at Springs Church, 179 Chapel Drive, Steinbach, Man., Saturday, April 2 at 11 a.m.
The family would like to express sincere appreciation for the paramedics, La Broquerie and Steinbach Fire Departments, hospital staff, the pastors, and for the many friends and family for the support and prayers.

GEORGE LIONEL GUIMOND
It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of George Lionel Guimond of Woodmore, Man., Friday, March 25, 2005, at the age of 58. He is survived by his beloved wife, Rachel (Fisette); six children, Linette (Marc), Lionel (Trish), Louis (Candace), Suzanne (Duncan), Guylaine (Sylvain), Jerome (friend Rachel); 11 grandchildren; his parents; three brothers and four sisters.
George was a wonderful husband, father and pépère. He was particularity fond of the outdoors, spending time hiking through the woods with family or repairing things in his shop. He was well known for salvaging many items, which later became very unique one-of-a-kind pieces.
Father Tomasz will celebrate the funeral mass at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Tolstoi, Man., Friday, April 1 at 11 a.m. Viewing will be held at the Vita Funeral Home, Thursday, March 31, 7 until 9 p.m., as well as a half hour prior to the service. Interment will follow the service at the Roman Catholic Cemetery in Tolstoi. Lunch will be served at the Tolstoi Senior Centre after mass.
The pallbearers will be Marc Guimond (brother), Arthur Guimond (brother), Gerald Pelletier (friend of the family), Sylvain Barnabe (son-in-law), Marc Bowman (son-in-law) and Duncan Hasker (son-in-law).
A special thank-you to the Vita paramedics, Vita Hospital staff and the Health Sciences Center emergency ward for their care; to friends and family for all their support; and to Michael and staff at Vita Funeral Home for their kind service.
