Eldon Lansford Dunlop

DUNLOP, ELDON L. - Eldon Lansford Dunlop, resident of the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Monday, March 31, 2003. He was the husband of Martha (Baetens) Dunlop. He was born on October 25, 1912 in Maccan N.S. son of Henrietta and John Dunlop.

Eldon was a veteran of the Second World War having served overseas with the 1st Battalion Black Watch. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Amherst, N.S. He was employed with the Canadian National Railway before his retirement.

He is survived by his only daughter Jean Smith and son-in-law Douglas Mollins of Quispamsis, three grandchildren Mark and Marlo of Halifax N.S., Michelle of Quispamsis and one brother Ross of Chignecto N.S. and one sister Ruth Long of Maccan N.S.

He was predeceased by his wife Martha and four sisters and eight brothers.

A memorial service will be held at Castle "Kings Chapel" Funeral Home 154 Hampton Rd. Quispamsis N.B. on Thursday April 3rd at 1 PM. There will be no visiting at the funeral home.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of the donors choice would be appreciated by the family.

DONALD ALLISON BLACK
1928 - 2003

Donald A. Black, 74 , of Moncton, NB passed away suddenly on March 29, 2003 as the result of a motor vehicle accident. Born in Shinimicas, NS on October 17, 1928, he was the son of the late Roy and Mabel (Burns) Black.

He is survived by a daughter, Beverly Weir; a son, Kevin Black; and granddaughter, Katherine Weir, all of Moncton; sisters Eileen (Eddie) Nesbitt (Ottawa), Evelyn (late Jack) Blomquist (Alberta); brothers, Douglas (Joan), Ontario, Ian (Darlene), Shinimicas, NS.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Joan (Trites) Black; granddaughter, Laura Weir; son-inlaw, Graham Weir; an infant son; sister, Edith (late Laurie) Ogden; and brother, Norman.

By request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Internment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to the Cancer Society or Muscular Dystrophy Association would be appreciated.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fair Haven Funeral Home (506-852-3530) 1177 Salisbury Rd. Moncton.

Ronald Edward Knorr

KNORR, RONALD EDWARD - Passed away unexpectedly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday March 28, 2003. Ronald Edward Knorr of Saint John was born in Saint John and was the only son of Mrs. Jennie (Pike) Knorr of Saint John and the late Edward P, Knorr.

He was a retired employee of Maritime Beverages. Rona was a member of the Church of the Good Shephard and also a member of the Pin Club.

Surviving in addition to his mother are several cousins.

He was predeceased by his father and his only sister Donna Jean.

Resting at CASTLE "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701) Funeral Service will be held 2 pm Monday March 31, 2003 at the Church of the Good Shephard Anglican Church. Interment will be in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Visiting at "Fallsview" on Sunday 2-4 & 7-9 pm.

Donations may be made to the Church of the Good Shephard memorial Fund or to a charity of the Donors Choice.

Allan Thomas Green

GREEN, ALLAN T. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital on March 27, 2003 Allan Thomas Green of 1100 Manawagonish Rd. and formerly of Milford Rd. Saint John West, companion of Phyllis Mullin. Born in Saint John, he was the son of the late George and Julia Green.

Allan retired in 1977 from the Saint John Harbors Board as a crane operator. After his retirement he loved to travel. Allan was an avid fisherman and bowler.

Surviving in addition to his companion Phyllis he is survived by one son, Arthur Green and his wife Bessie of Montocello, New York, one step son, Steven Mullin and his wife Cheryl of Saint John, five step daughters Ann Boyce and her husband Peter of Saint John, Sherry McKeown and her husband William of Grand Bay - Westfield, Cindy Crawthra and her husband Norman of Ladysmith, B.C., Jaqueline Mazerolle and her husband Kevin of Saint John, Gwen Rathburn and her husband John of Grand Bay - Westfield, three grandchildren Ralph, Allan and Nancy Green, ten step grandchildren, two special nephews Jim and George Green and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his wife Doris (Perry) Green, two brothers Jack and Burton and one sister Alma Walsh.

By Allan's request there will be no visitation or service at the funeral home. A grave side service will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery at a time to be announced.

Following the interment a reception will take place at the "Fallsview" Family Reception Center. Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. (634-1701) entrusted with the arrangements.

Douglas Leonard Mowery

MOWERY, DOUGLAS L. - At the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Monday, March 24th, 2003, Douglas Leonard Mowery husband of Nancy (Blizzard) Mowery of West Saint John, NB. Born in Saint John, NB he was the son of the late George and Alice (Owen) Mowery.

Doug worked for almost 48 years with Maritime Paper Products. He also enjoyed his involvement as Gunner with the Third Field Artillery for 23 years.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Douglas is survived by 1 son Douglas (Samantha) of West Saint John, 1 daughter Cathy Mowery and her fiance Josh Smith, 3 grandchildren, Kristin, Jonathan and Eden, several brothers and sisters, Mary Litwin (William) of Logan Lake, B.C., Nancy Wickens (Len) of Townsend, Ont, Rita Nichols (William) of Stratford, Ont, Henry (Barbara) of Hampton, Sheila Granville (Mike) of Chatham, Ont, Bernice Redfearn (Jack) of Courtency, B.C., Walter of Halifax, N.S., Marlene Franklin (Clarence) of Hamilton, Ont, several nieces and nephews.

Doug was predeceased by 2 sisters Jennie and Janet and a brother John.

Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, West Saint John (506-634-1701) from where the visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 27th, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at St. Georges Anglican Church, West Saint John. The interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Field of Honour.

Donations may be made to the NB Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Caroline Elizabeth Day

The death of Caroline Elizabeth Day, widow of Robert, of Beechwood Avenue occurred at the Moncton Hospital on Monday March 24th. Born in Coates Mills on April 27th 1906 she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Jessie (Glendenning) Bowser.

Caroline moved to the United States at a young age where she remained until she retired. On January 13th 1986 she and Robert Day were married in Pinellas, FLA. They returned to Canada in the early 1990's and while living in Harrisville she attended the Harrisville Protestant Church and after moving to Beechwood Avenue she attended Sunny Brae United Baptist Church.

She is survived by her sister in law Ruby Bowser, her nieces Phyllis, Shirley and Eleanor all of the Moncton area.

In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Robert, four sisters Ethel Budd; Mabel Budd; Bessie Glendenning and Blanche Fisher also two brothers Thomas and William and one nephew.

Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home (852-3530) 1177 Salisbury Road Moncton with visiting hours on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Funeral service will be held on Thursday in Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel at 11 A.M. followed by a reception in the Family Reception Room of the Funeral Home. Interment will be in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens.

Donations in Caroline's memory may be made to the memorial of the donor's choice.
