MCKIBBON

Mrs. Nina McKibbon wife of the late Leo McKibbon and formerly of Exmoor, passed away Friday morning, July 25, at Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home, at the age of 98. Born in Matthew Settlement, she was the daughter of the late Fred & Mary (Matthews) Hamilton. She was a homemaker and a member of Whitney Baptist Church. She is survived by three daughters; Natalie Harris (Sterling) of Exmoor; Mae Hare (Gordon) of Whitney; Loreen Harris (Hollie) of Exmoor; two sons; Brian (Nita) of Moncton; Fred (Gloria) of Sunny Corner; one brother; Blake Hamilton (Vera) of Whitney; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Besides her parents and her husband she was predeceased by her brothers, Freeman, Cecil, Harold, Lyman and Vernon. Mrs. Nina McKibbon rested at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Saturday July 26, from 1 p.m. until the time of the funeral at 3 p.m. from Davidson's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wilbur Matthews officiating. Organist and soloist Shirley Estey rendered "Where We'll Never Grow Old" and "Under His Wings". Burial followed in Whitney Baptist Cemetery. At the request of the family donations to Mount Saint Joseph Activity Fund would be appreciated. Active Pallbearers were: Bradley McKibbon, Tyson McKibbon, Rory Matchett, Shannon Harris, Kevin Harris and Duane Harris. Arrangements in care of Davidson's Funeral Home (622-7464) your family owned family operated funeral home.

Mary Marilyn Doran

The death of Mary Marilyn Doran, of Clairville, NB and formerly of Miramichi, NB, occurred on Wednesday, July 24, 2008 at the Moncton Hospital at the age of 60. Born in Newcastle, NB, she is the daughter of Doris (Miller) Doran and the late Sheridan Doran. Marilyn attended the Presbyterian Church in Clairville, NB and worked as an office manager for Fillmore Trucking. Besides her mother, Doris, Marilyn is survived by three sisters, Edith Matchett (Wayne) of Boom Road, NB, Sharold Smith of Gooderham, ON, Sheridan Verhage (Richard) of Bowmanville, ON; and many nieces and nephews. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home, on Friday, July 25, 2008 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. The funeral service was held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday at 2 PM with Pastor Ambrose Rolfe officiating. Organist/Soloist was: Jacqueline Allain. Solo's were: "It is Well with My Soul," "Trust & Obey," "How Great Thou Art" and "In the Garden." A special solo: "Knowing You'll Be There" by: Pastor and Linda Rolfe. Scriptures read by: Pastor Bradford Blaikie. Active pallbearers were: Donald Fillmore, Joshua Austin, Nicole Austin, Bev Allison, Leslie Matchett and Scott Smith. Burial followed in Miramichi Cemetery. Special memories of Marilyn were shared by: friends and family at the graveside. In Marilyn's memory donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit of the Moncton Hospital. Funeral arrangements were under the care of Bell's Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB. MACDONALD, M. HORTENSE

The funeral of Mary "Hortense" MacDonald of Saint John, wife of the late Daniel W. (Mac) Donald was held on Friday, July 25, 2008, from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, to St. Peter's Catholic Church, where a Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated by Rev. Paul Doucet. The Lectors were Faith Murphy, Robert Stephen and Ellen Murphy; the Servers were Dawn Butler, Daniel Knox and Jim Howlett. The Ministers of Music were organist, Suzanne O'Leary and soloist, Theresa Rogers. The honourary pallbearers were, Louise Cummings, Willard Cummings, Douglas Murphy, Norman Nickerson, Jean O'Neill and Robert Stephen. The active pallbearers were, Mary Ellen Costello, Paul Cutler, Leonard Murphy, Dr. Joseph Prescott, David Stephen and Pierre Terrien. Donations made in memory of Hortense were given to: New Brunswick Lung Association; Heart and Stroke Foundation of NB; St. Joachim's- Building Fund; St. Peter's Church; Arthritis Society of New Brunswick; and the Saint John Animal Rescue League. Interment took place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

GODDARD, DR. OSWALD "OSSIE" T.

The funeral of Dr. Oswald T. Goddard of Saint John, NB, husband of Joyce (Miller) Goddard, was held on Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in the chapel of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, where the service was conducted by Rev. Mel Fawcett and Rev. Jennifer Goddard Sheppard. Readings were proclaimed by Dr. Thomas McCue, Bonnie Hayes, Janice Goddard and Donna Cyr. The honourary pallbearers were: Phillip Miller, Daniel Miller, Terry Hayes, John Kennedy, Mark Miller, Tre Miller, Frank Remete, David Ellis, Ken and Cathy Tilk, Darren Harrison, Dr. Henri Giasson, Dr. Arnold Brown, Dr. Joan Hicks, Bonnie Wilson, Cst. Stuart Ellis, Charles Palmer and Stuart Ellis. The active pallbearers were: Janice Goddard, Jennifer Sheppard, Heather Goddard and Jean Pina. Among the numerous floral and spiritual tributes received by the family were those from: Management and Staff of Vogue Optical and G. Forbes Holding. Donations made in memory of Ossie were given to: Alzheimer Society of New Brunswick including those from Board of Directors and Members of the Westfield Golf and Country Club and Bonnie's Hairstyling; Sleeping Children Around the World; Hospice Greater Saint John; Canadian Cancer Society including one from Prude Inc.; Romero House (NB); United Church of Canada at Work in the World; Cystic Fibrosis Foundation- Saint John Chapter; Multiple Sclerosis; L'Arche Saint John; Saint John Vocational School/ Harbour View High School Scholarship Fund; Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children; and I.W.K. Health Centre Foundation. Cremation took place in Brenan's Crematorium.

KING, GORDON "BRIAN"

Gordon "Brian" King - born April 5th, 1946-Nov. 5, 2010Brian was born and raised in Marysville. Wife Angela King, Children: Peter, Larry and Andrew of Fredericton; Lynn at home. Predeceased by his parents Burleigh and Edith(Clark) King. Survived by Sister Naomi King of Penniac and Terry King(Charlene) of Riverview. Brian was self-employed until the past few years due to ill health. Special thanks to Dr. Barton for his years of care and compassion.No service at Brian's request.

FOX, LARRY DEAN

The passing of Larry Dean Fox, of Fredericton, occurred on November 5, 2010 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born on July 5, 1949 in Woodstock, he was the son of E. Arnold Fox and the late Francis (Greer) Fox. Larry was employed by NB Power for 36 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Besides his father, he is survived by two sons, Michael (Nichole) and Mitchell Fox all of Fredericton; granddaughter, Leah Fox; sisters, Lorraine Fox of Nackawic and Susan Harper (Evans) of Fredericton; nephew, Matthew Harper. Although there will be no visitation by request, a Funeral Service will be held from York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel on Monday, November 8, 2010 at 11 am with Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. A private interment will take place at Christ Church Cemetery, Woodstock, NB. For those who wish, remembrances made to the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences may be offered.

HORNCASTLE, JOAN

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joan Horncastle of New Maryland, NB, on Friday, November 5th, 2010. Born in Fredericton, NB, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Julia (Chambers) Dunbar. Joan was cherished by her family and friends. She loved animals, especially the family dogs and horses. She also enjoyed time spent at the family cottage at Indian Lake. Joan will be sadly missed by many. Survived by her loving husband of 53 years, James and daughter, Michelle (Kent Ross) Fredericton, NB; four sisters, Mary McIssac (Jack) of Nova Scotia, Glenna Doucette (Edward) of Fredericton, Edith Boudreau (Joseph) of Edmonton and Catherine Ross (Joseph) of Edmonton and one brother, Douglas Dunbar of Edmonton.She was predeceased by one sister, Dorothy Morgan and one brother Hughie Dunbar of Fredericton.There will be no visitation by family request. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sts. John & Paul's Catholic Church in New Maryland on Wednesday, November 10th, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Mark Trzop as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes may be made to the Fredericton SPCA.

DOW, GLENDON

Glendon C. Dow of Woodstock, NB passed away November 4, 2010 at Upper River Valley Hospital. Glendon was born at Scotts Siding, NB in 1941, a son of the late Harold and Madeline (Miller) Dow. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. (Brown) Dow; his daughter, Donna Dow (Sylvio), Fredericton, NB; his son, Charles Andrew Dow (Maria), Maxwell, NB; his grandchildren, Hayley, Dominick, Raven, Chelsea, Kimberly, Jesse, Tessa and Amy; his sisters, Pauline Anderson (Douglas) and Geraldine Wallace (Charles), both of Fredericton, NB; his brother, Dale Dow (Mabel), Canterbury, NB, an aunt, Myrtle Moorcroft, Upper Queensbury, NB; an uncle, Harold Miller, Fredericton, NB and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Glendon was predeceased by a sister, Brenda Collicott and a brother, Earl Dow.Visitation will be held at Flewelling Funeral Home, 585 Otis Drive, Nackawic, NB on Saturday from 3:30 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held from the funeral home chapel on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Conrad Brewer officiating. Interment will follow in Marne Cemetery.Pallbearers will be George Fox, Jeff Wallace, Steven Wallace, Clifford Fox, Brian Moorcroft and Frank Savoy.For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Glendon, the family has suggested the Marne Cemetery or the Canadian Cancer Society. www.flewellingswan.com

At the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB, November 2, 2010, Sanford Richard Scott of McAdam, NB. Husband of Gloria D. (Kagar) Scott and son of the late David Leslie and Edith Natalie (Johnson) Scott.Survived by his wife, two brothers; David E. (Joyce) of Vanceboro, Maine, Curtis (Cindy) of Vanceboro, Maine, five sisters; Peggy Nadeau (Dennis) of St. Croix, NB, Helen Grass (Martin) of Lambert Lake, Maine, Jean Day (Larry) of Palfrey Lake, NB, Shelley Sangster (Mark) of Lepreau, NB, Elizabeth Plourde (Jean-Guy) of McAdam, NB, several nieces, nephews and cousins.Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2 PM at St. George's Anglican Church, McAdam, NB.
