David Allen Elderkin
Apr 17, 1986 - Aug 17, 2007

Riverside-Albert, New Brunswick

David Allen Elderkin, 21, of Riverside-Albert was taken away suddenly on August 17, 2007.

David was born in Moncton on April 17, 1986 the son of Jeff and Carol (Brewster) Elderkin. He was a graduate of Caledonia Regional High School and was a member of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. He was working with his dad as a welding apprentice for Ed's Welding and Contracting Ltd. He loved the outdoors spending his time fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed sports, being an avid golfer and curling at the Fundy Curling Club with his dad and his grandparents.

David was the kind of person who always put others first. You could always count on David to be there whenever he was needed. He always had a smile and was just easy to be around. David's personality was outgoing, loving and he was just an all-round great guy. He will be remembered fondly by all who knew him, leaving his family and many friends with good memories to look back on. David would want everyone to remember the fun times with him laughing and smiling and hope that it may comfort you through this difficult time.

Remember Me- You can shed tears that he is gone or you can smile because he lived. You can close your eyes and pray he'll come back or you can open your eyes and see all he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live in yesterday or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back or you can do what he'd want: smile open your eyes, love and go on.

He will be deeply missed by his parents, Jeff and Carol Elderkin of Riverside-Albert; his sister Amy Elderkin at home; his maternal grandparents, Clarke and Jeanette Brewster of Harvey; maternal grandmother, Grace Elderkin of Riverside-Albert; uncles Tim Elderkin, Wyman (Loretta) Elderkin and aunt Bernadette (Scott) Elliott all of Riverside-Albert; uncle Wayne (Amanda) Brewster of Ottawa and aunt Charlene (Doug) Indewey of Ontario. He will also be deeply missed by his cousins, Joseph & Amanda Elderkin, Jordan & Erica Elliott, Tristan & Victoria Brewster, Kevin and Jeannette Indewey and by all of his many close friends. He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather Edward Elderkin.

He will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with visitation on Sunday evening from 7-9pm. There will be Parish Prayers and a time of sharing memories at the funeral home on Sunday evening at 8:30pm. The Funeral Mass to celebrate David's life will be held at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church on Monday, August 20, 2007 at 10:00am. Interment will be held in the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, N.B.

Donations to the Holy Ghost Catholic Cemetery or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Also in memory of David for those who could give a donation at your local Blood Donor Clinic as this was very important to him. As David would say "Skip School - Give Blood".

Arrangements are in the care of the Albert County Funeral Home, Hopewell Cape, 734-2780
