At the Charlotte County Hospital, St. Stephen, NB., Glenn (Corky) Thornton Morris of St. Stephen, NB. Son of Herman and the late Jean (Thornton) Morris of St. Stephen, NB.
Survived by his wife Linda Lee (Cunningham) Morris of St. Stephen, NB., one son Stephen of Fredericton, NB., one daughter Gayle of Saint John, NB., his father Herman of St. Stephen.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday January 28, 1998 at 2 pm from the S.O. Mehan and Son Funeral Home Ltd., 23 Main Street, St. Stephen, NB., with Rev. Keith Howlett and Rev. Peter Bagley officiating.
Interment St. Stephen Rural Cemetery. By request there will be no visiting hours at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers remembrance to the charity of ones choice would be appreciated by the family.
MURRAY, Rita Catherine
The passing of Rita Catherine Murray of Silverwood, NB., occurred after a lengthy illness at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton on January 25, 1998. She was 50.
Born in Fredericton she was the daughter of the late Calvert and Jenis (Bailey) Murray.
She was a member of St. Peter's Anglican Church, Springhill. She is survived by one sister Ruby Riley of Charlottetown, three brothers, John Murray of York Manor, Fredericton, Robert William Murray of Fredericton and Charles Murray of Fredericton.
She was predeceased by one sister Mary and one brother Ernest. No visitation at the funeral home by request.
Funeral service will be held at York Funeral Home's T. Gordon MacLeod Memorial Chapel, 302 Brookside Drive, Fredericton on Thursday January 29, 1998 at 11 am with Rev. Ross Hebb officiating. Burial in Saint Peter's Cemetery at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
SMITH, Lori Michelle
The passing of Lori Michelle Smith of Lincoln, NB, occurred after a life-long fight with Cystic Fibrosis, on December 31, 1997.
She was 27. Born in Halifax, NS, she was the daughter of Vaughn and Heather Vidito currently living in Simonds, NB.
In spite of having dealt with Cystic Fibrosis all of her life, she was known for her joy of life.
She was a friend to many and a source of inspiration to all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband Anthony Smith; her parents Vaughn and Heather Vidito; her sister Melissa MacKenzie and husband Doug.
Donations may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation of Canada through Britton's Funeral Home, Hartland, NB.
SWAN, Cora Phyllis C.
Phyllis Swan of Swanee Brook Lane, Harvey Station died Saturday January 24, 1998 at the Harvey Community Hospital.
She was 88. Born at Harvey Station, she was a daughter of the late James Albert and Faustina Edith (Sweat) Swan.
She was a housewife. She is survived by a son Murray Swan, Harvey Station, two daughters Brenda McCullough and husband Blair and Marlene Dunphy and husband Donald, both of Harvey Station, grandchildren Kevin and Wendy Dunphy, Elinor and Tony VanHorne, Heather and Garland Leeman, Kala and Dwight Leeman, Rhonda and Robert Moore, Wendy and Michael Cleghorn Sr., all of Harvey Station, Lisa and Simon Parker, Durham, England and Shonna McCullough and friend Len Russell, Barkers Point, great grandchildren, Justin VanHorne, Coleen, Melisa, Paige and Ryan Leeman, Chloe and Markus Dunphy, Marley Moore, Kaitlin and Michael Cleghorn Jr., all of Harvey Station and Charles Parker of Durham, England.
Phyllis was predeceased by her loving caring husband, John Milton Swan and a great granddaughter Kelsey Jane VanHorne. Resting at Swan Funeral Home, 1826 Highway 3, Harvey Station with visiting hours Monday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 2 pm. Rev. George Clark and Rev. Mel Calhoun officiating. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Weeks, Kenneth MacDonald, Arthur Clark, Thomas Lister, Levurn Swan and Vernon Lister. For those who wish to make a donation in memory of Phyllis, the family has suggested the Harvey Ambulance.
After a brief illness at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, January 25, 1998, Elizabeth Jean Blagden of Saint John West, formerly of Grand Bay. Wife of the late Ronald William Blagden.
Born at Grand Bay, she was the daughter of the late William and Mae (Hoffman) Shaw.
Surviving are four daughters, Sandra and her husband George Stevenson of Westfield, N.B., Virginia and her husband Ralph Mollins of Saint John, N.B., Dawn and her husband Byron Young of Wells, N.B., Nancy and her husband William McKenna of Morna; two brothers, Arnold Shaw and his wife Eva of Wells, Maine, Rawland Shaw of Palm Springs, California, 11 grandchildren, six great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her husband Ronald, also her father, Roy Hamm and her step father, William Shaw and mother Mae (Hoffmann), two brothers, Henry Hamm and Arthur Shaw. Resting at Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue. Funeral service will be held at the Fallsview Chapel, Tuesday, January 27, 1998 at 1 p.m.
Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery, will be in the spring. Visiting at Fallsview on Monday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Donations may be made to the Arthritis Society, following the service a reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Center.
DELONG, Donald F.
The death of Mr. Donald F. DeLong of Sydney Arms occurred at his residence on Thursday, January 22, 1998.
Born in Saint John a son of the late Arthur and M. Frances (Jenner) DeLong.
He is survived by two brothers, Cecil A. and his wife Muriel and Raymond L. all of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; three sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. Ken Halman) of Fredericton, Kathleen and Joan DeLong both of Saint John, two sisters-in-law Carmel Daigle of Moncton and Maria Daigle of Saint John, along with several cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
Predeceased by three brothers, Murray, Gerard and Vernon. There is to be no visiting by request. A memorial mass will be held at a later date.
Interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery. Remembrances to the Stella Maris Renovation Fund or charity of donors choice would be appreciated. Arrangements under the direction of Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row.
The death of Mr. Ronald Finn of Saint John, husband of Utah Elizabeth (Alchorn) Finn occurred on Thursday January 22, 1998 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, a son of the late Gerald and Mabel (Snodgrass) Finn.
Mr. Finn was a Veteran of WWII serving overseas with the Armed Service Corps.
He is survived by one son William R. of Willow Grove, NB., one daughter Jane Elizabeth Hunt of Saint John, along with five grandchildren, four great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by two brothers James and Robert.
Resting at Brenan's Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, from where the service will be held on Monday, January 26, 1998 at 2:15 pm followed by interment in Cedar Hill Field of Honor at a later date.
Visiting at the funeral home will take place on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the NB Heart Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
GRAHAM, George T.
The death of George Thomas Graham of Belleisle Creek, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre on Friday January 23, 1998.
Born in Cravesend, England, on March 16, 1914, the son of the late John and Martha (Sutherland) Graham and husband of Helen (Stewart) Graham.
Survived by his wife, three sons, Cortland and wife Susan, Sussex, Carl and wife Sharon, Belleisle Creek, Darrel and wife Deborah, Belleisle Creek and one daughter Audrey and husband David Totten, Midland, 10 grandchildren, Trevor and Jamie Graham, Paula (David) Daynes, Talmage (Cindi), Michael and Robyn Graham, Heather, Joyce and Karen Totten and Stuart Graham, two great grandchildren, Katrina and Nicholas, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by brother Earnest and sister, Martha McLaughlan.
Resting at Sherwood's Funeral Home, Norton, Saturday 7-9 pm and Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
Funeral service will be held from St. Simon and St. Jude's Anglican Church, Monday January 26th at 2:00 pm.
Interment in the St. Simon and St. Jude's Cemetery in the spring.
