GILBERT, IRVINE THEODORE Irvine T. Gilbert of Upper Stone Ridge Road, Zealand passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on August 11, 2006. He was a son of the late Donald and Blanche (Hanson) Gilbert. Survived by three daughters, Sandra Brewer (Francis), Joann Brewer (Earl), both of Zealand and Diann Estey (David), Lower Queensbury; two sons, Lance Gilbert and Kevin Gilbert (Sheila) , both of Zealand; a son-in-law, Rev. Dale J. Brewer, Zealand; a sister, Marguerite Graham (Pat), Maple Ridge; a brother, Rudolph Gilbert (Florence), Kitchener, ON; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Irvine was predeceased by his wife, Vivian (Brewer) Gilbert, a son, Brian, two brothers, Vernon and Perley, an infant sister, Rowena and three great grandchildren. STAIRS, META A. A graveside committal service for the late Meta A. Stairs who passed away March 9, 2006, will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at 11:00 AM at St. Ansgars Cemetery, New Denmark, NB, followed by a reception in the church hall.

LONDON, RALPH HAZEN - Passed away in his 68th year at Langley, B.C. The son of the late Kenneth and Bessie, he was born in Saint John, N.B. Ralph was an avid and talented sportsman who played, coached and owned as well as promoted baseball and hockey teams in the Hampton area. Ralph won a number of Provincial and Maritime titles with Hampton at the Intermediate level and also toiled with Woodstock in the senior league. Ralph owned and operated a sporting goods business in Sussex. He was district Road Supervisor and also a Provincial Liberal candidate in the 60s. Ralph was a past member of the Masons and the Hampton Legion. As a twelve year old scout Ralph was honoured in Ottawa by the Govenor General when he was presented a medal for bravery in saving a friend's life. In later years Ralph enjoyed a very successful career as a salesman for Preston Chev Olds in Langley, B.C. His passions included crossword puzzles with "Babs", digging clams on his island, and watching his grandsons play hockey. He touched the lives of many with his personable manner and optimism. He will be sadly missed by his friends and family. He was predeceased by his best friend and brother Blake. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara; son Kenny; daughters Natalie (Colin) Bennie, Deborah (Rob) Day, and Theresa; two grandsons Brandon and Nicolas Day; sisters Irene (Bill) MacDonald, Rothesay, Audrey (Robert) Little, Orleans, ON; brothers James (Joanne) London, Hampton and Willard (John) London, Halifax; several nieces and nephews. A celebration of Ralphs life will be held at 6:00 pm on Tuesday evening 15th of August at The Hampton Inn & Suites, Surrey B.C., Ph 604-530-6545, fax 530-9192. CAMPBELL, THELMA EDNA JANE - Passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 11, 2006. Wife of the late Russell Campbell. Born in Saint John she was a daughter of the late Sarah and Arthur Hart. She is survived by a son, Richard Campbell (Mary O'Hara) and a daughter, Catharine Dunn (Brad Laskey). She will also be missed by six grandsons, a sister Jean Ferguson as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle Funeral Homes "Fallsview" 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John (634-1701) with visitation on Saturday, August 12, 2006 from 7 to 9 pm and Sunday, August 13 from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held on Monday August 14, 2006 from Fallsview Chapel at 11:00 am followed by interment in Harding's Point Cemetery. Memorial donations in memory of Thelma may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or a charity of the donor's choice.

MEATING, MARIE THERESA (JEAN) - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing away of Theresa Meating on Wednesday, August 9th, 2006, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Wife of Ken Meating. Born in Bas-Caracquet, a daughter of the late Avila and Almina (Doiron) Jean. She is survived by her husband, Ken Meating; a son, James (Shelley) Burke; and two daughters, Roberta Martin (Derek) and Ann Marie Burke. She will also be missed by a sister, Flora Lanteigne; several grandchildren, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Theresa was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. At Theresa's request there will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Castle Funeral Homes "Fallsview", 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John (634-1701). Funeral Service to be held at the St. George's Anglican Church (Duke St. West) on Saturday, August 12, 2006 at 1pm. Interment in Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery, followed by a reception at the Fallsview Reception Center. Memorial donations in memory of Theresa may be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation, Palliative Care, or a charity of the donor's choice.

Mona A. Bates Mona Alice Bates, wife of the Late William C. Bates (1993) of Pro Tem Health Services, Moncton and formerly of Riverview, passed away at her residence on Friday July 11 2006. Visitation at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), Monday 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service at Ferguson Knowles Home Chapel, Tuesday, August 15, 2006, 11am. Reception following the service. Interment, Miramichi Cemetery, Miramichi. In Mona's memory, donations to Friends of the Moncton Hospital or memorial of choice would be appreciated by her family.

Florine Cormier 1923-2006 Florine Cormier, 83, of 112 Murphy Avenue, Apt #106, passed away at The Dr Georges-L-Dumont Hospital on August 10, 2006. Born January 12, 1923, Florine was the daughter of the late Ephrem LeBlanc and the late Eugénie Cormier. Florine attended the Notre-Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church, Murphy Ave, was a member of Club d'age - D'or, Dieppe, and was a retired clerk for Civil Services. Florine is survived by her husband, Hervé A. Cormier; two daughters, Patricia Cyr (Gerald) Abbotsford, BC, Angela Moyen (Georges), Valleyfield, Quebec; two sisters in law, Rita (LeBlanc Bourque), Yvette LeBlanc, Bouctouche; three sisters, Corinne Gallant (Late Edelor), Dieppe, Iréne Michaud (Late Gérard), Bouctouche, and Rev. Soeur Stella LeBlanc, NDSC, Moncton; two brothers, Aquila LeBlanc (Rita), Dieppe, and Erice LeBlanc, Moncton; five grandchildren, Chantal Cyr, Daniel Cyr, Nathalie Moyen, Julie Moyen, Eric Moyen; also several great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Florine was predeceased by two brothers, Aquila and Ronald and one sister, Melina Leger. There will be no visiting time at the funeral home by request of the family. The funeral service will be held at Notre-Dame de la Paix Roman Catholic Church, Murphy Avenue, on Monday, August 14, 2006 at 2:00pm. Interment will take place at St-Jean Baptiste Roman Catholic Cemetry, Bouctouche. Donations to the Dr Georges-L-Dumont foundation or donors choice would be appreciated by the family. Frederick W. Grant Ph.D 1943-2006 The death of Dr. Fred Grant, 62, of Moncton, NB, occurred at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital on Friday, August 11, 2006. Born in Halifax, NS, he was the son of the late William James Grant and Dorothy Masterton. He was a teacher, principal, supervisor and psychologist for what is now School District #2. He was a great asset to the educational system and was responsible for the innovation and implementation of many programs. He also served on many boards in the field of education and in the community. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Heather MacKenzie; his son, Cliff Frederick; and daughter, Sara Jane; and their mother, Mary Jane Grant; his stepdaughter, Sarah MacKenzie Allen; his brother, Gerald (Trudy) Masterton; his aunts, Alfreda Mitchell and Rhoda Cochrane; and numerous nieces, nephews, sisters in-law and brothers in-law. He was predeceased by his stepfather, Edwin Masterton. Resting at Fair Haven Funeral Home, with visiting hours on Saturday, August 12 from 6 to 8 pm. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Sunday, August 13 in the funeral home chapel, followed immediately by the interment in Fairhaven Memorial Gardens. Arthur LeBlanc MEMRAMCOOK, NB - Arthur LeBlanc of Memramcook passed away at Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont Hospital on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at the age of 83. Born in Memramcook, he was the son of the late Nasthas LeBlanc and the late Ida Bourque. Before his retirement, he was a farmer and a mechanic at the Dry Doc for 21 years. He was a member of the Legion # 89 of Memramcook, Air Force Club and Buffalo Club in Saint John. He is survived by a special friend, Marguerite (Brun) LeBlanc; one brother, Alfred (Florence) LeBlanc of Dover and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Angeline LeBlanc; three sisters, Rita, Irene and Beatrice; and by four brothers, Herve, Aurele, Ernest and Eddie. Visitation will be held at Dupuis Funeral Home on Saturday, August 12 from 7 to 9 pm, Sunday, August 13 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Monday, August 14 from 9:30 to 10:30 am. Funeral mass will be held at St-Thomas de Memramcook Roman Catholic Church, St-Joseph on Monday August 13 at 11:00 am. Interment will be held in parish cemetery. Hélène (Nelly) Cormier 1915 - 2006 KOUCHIBOUGUAC, NB - Hélène (Nelly) Cormier, 90, of Kouchibouguac, NB, wife of the late Hévé Cormier (December 2000), passed away Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital. Born in Claire-Fontaine on November 26, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Frank Leonard and Rosalie (Richard) Cormier. Nelly was a Homemaker, but above all she was an exceptional wife and mother. She leaves behind a family who loved her dearly, six daughters, Claira Barkhouse, Ridgeway, ON, Evéline Martin (Late Médard), Kouchibouguac, Docile Cormier, Kouchibouguac, Lucille Poirier, Saint-Louis, Claudine Wright, Pickering, ON and Maimaie Richard (Gervais), Saint-Louis; six sons, Rona (Delpine), Saint-Louis, Francois (Tina), Pointe-Sapin, Férain (Linda), Saint-Louis, Adrien (Maria), Pointe-Sapin, Claude (Lucille), Saint-Louis and Normand (Jane), Kouchibouguac; 38 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; two sisters, Laura Perron (late Eddie), Campbellton and Marie Mazerolle (late Albert), Saint-Louis; one brother, Joe Leonard (Rosella), St-Jean-Baptiste; and several nieces and nephews. Nelly was predeceased by her adoptive mother, Josephine (Comeau) Leonard; one grandson, Gabriel Poirier; two sisters, Marguerite Boudreau (late Jerome), Yvonne Chevarie (Tim); five brothers, Jim, Julien (late Regina), Arthur (Marguerite), John (Yvette) and François (late Graziella). Resting at Thompson's Memorial Home, Saint-Louis with visitation on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 5:30 until departure for funeral. Funeral Mass at St. Louis des Français Roman Catholic Church, Saint-Louis on Tuesday, August 22, 2006 at 7:00pm. Interment in St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery, Claire-Fontaine.
