The funeral of Margaret A. Trentowsky of Saint John, NB, was held from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row on Monday, March 31, 2008, where the service was conducted by Rev. Bill Thomas. The organist and soloist was Barry Snodgrass. A tribute service was held by the Pythian Sisters on Sunday evening at the funeral home. The pallbearers were: Paul Rickard, Robert Plume, Jamie Trentowsky, Doug Trentowsky, David Trentowsky, and Kenneth Trentowsky. The honourary pallbearer was Michael Plume. Among the floral tributes received was one from the Management and Staff of Chandler Sales. Donations were made to St. Joseph's Hospital Foundation, Parkinson Society, including that of the Loyalist Temple #13, Pythian Sisters, Alzheimer's Society; including that of the Orange Ladies Dominion Lodge #18, Romero House, Edith Avenue Baptist Church, Canadian Cancer Society and St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement. Interment took place in Fernhill Cemetery. The family of the late Margaret Trentowsky wish to thank all those who sent flowers, donations and cards. Your kindness will always be remembered.


The funeral service for Gary S. Stackhouse of Saint John, NB, husband of Nadine (Banks) Stackhouse was held from Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home Chapel, 111 Paradise Row, on Thursday, April 3, 2008, where the service was conducted by Rev. Roger Graham, Rev. Brian Bourque and Rev. Mark Dail. The organist was Barry Snodgrass. The pallbearers were Eldon Banks, Eric Banks, Glenn Bertin, John Coffey, Terry Furlong and John Nichol. Among the numerous floral tributes received were those from: Brushworkers Local 701 at T.S. Simms, Management and Staff of T.S. Simms Co. Ltd, Colleagues at the Technical Unit PLGS, White Head Baptist Church and from Bayview Credit Union, Board of Directors and Management and Staff. Donations were made to: Canadian Cancer Society, including that from Reactor Physics Department PLGS; Ridgewood Veteran's Wing; Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick, including that from, Management and staff of Point Lepreau Nuclear Generating Station; New Brunswick Society of Retired Teachers. Interment took place at Ocean View Memorial Gardens.


Debbie Muzzeral of Fredericton Junction, passed away unexpectedly surrounded by friends and family at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on April 9,2008 at the age of 47. Debbie is survived by her husband, Keith of Fredericton Junction; a proud and loving mother to daughter, Kayla and son, Stephen both at home; father, Lloyd Whittaker of Hoyt; two sisters, Cindy Ogden (Parker) of Fredericton Junction and Jacquline Whittaker of Hoyt; two brothers, Allen Whittaker(Neva) of Mt. Middleton, NB and Fenton Whittaker (Cindy) of Hoyt; mother and father-in-law, Theresa and Cecil Muzzerall; special nephew Derek; several nieces & nephews. Debbie was a member of St. Columba Roman Catholic Church and was the Manager of Citizens Credit Union. Debbie was a 25 year member of Gladstone Curling Club. She started her career as an Electronic Technician working five years for Gerry Carty at the Electronic Center in Fredericton. When Stephen was born she started a new career with Royal Bank in Fredericton Junction and later with Citizens Credit Union. Debbie is predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth (Allen) Whittaker. Relatives and friends are invited to Sunbury Funeral Home for visitations on Friday April 11, 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. Funeral service will be from St. Columba Catholic Church, Fredericton Junction on April 12 at 11 am with Father Mark Trzop officiating and Father Ken Weir assisting. Interment in St Columba Cemetery. You may express your sympathy by making a donation to Heart and Stroke Foundation, St. Columba Building Fund or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are in the care of Sunbury Funeral Home, Central Blissville, N.B. (368-2413).


It is with sadness that the family of Marie Blanche Picot (née Marie Blanche Roussel) announce her death which occurred on June 1st at the Villa Providence in Shediac. Born on January 31st, 1908, the eldest daughter of Frederic Roussel and Josephine Comeau. She spent most of her life in Bathurst. She first lived on Murray Avenue with her parents, and after her marriage to Philip Picot in 1935, she moved to St Peter Avenue, West Bathurst. Prior to her marriage she worked briefly as a secretary with the Eddy Company in Rimouski, and at 20 she was appointed to the ministerial staff of Canada's Post Master General in Ottawa. After her marriage she worked part time in the family business. She was known for her excellent swing style piano playing and frequently accompanied sing-songs. She celebrated her 100th birthday with family and friends in February 2008 at the Villa Providence. She is pre-deceased by her husband, Philip Picot to whom she was married for 43 years. In 1981, she married her second husband, Ernest Picot, who died 8 years later. She is also pre-deceased by two sisters, Leona (Sister Mary Frederick, CND), and Alice (Gaudet); one brother, Armand. She is survived by one sibling, Jill (Theodore Doucet), Richmond, Virginia; four children, Eric (Francine Bilodeau), Shediac, Yvon (Anne Marie Doucet), Calgary, Jocelyne (Adam Clark), Montreal and Marc (Wendie Atkinson), Shediac; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. The funeral was celebrated at Holy Family Church on St Peter Avenue on Thursday, June 5th at 11 AM. Visitation will be held at Elhatton funeral Home ( Bathurst. Burial was in the parish cemetery. For anyone wishing to send token of sympathy, donations may be made in her name to a charity of choice.


The passing of Marianne Audrée Wilson of Fredericton, occurred on May 25, 2008 at her home. Born on June 1, 2004, she was the daughter of Kevin Wilson and Isabelle Roy. Besides her parents, Marianne is survived by her brother, Henri Wilson; maternal grandparents, Carol Ann Bernard and Christian Roy; paternal grandparents, Diane Grant and Gilles Wilson. A Graveside Service was held at Hermitage Cemetery for the immediate family under the direction of York Funeral Home. Marianne fought a brave battle against leukemia for more than half of her life. She came to rest at home peacefully with her family by her side. In lieu of flowers, donations to the IWK Foundation ( or to the Children's Wish Foundation ( are suggested.

Charles Ellis

Bathurst - Charles Ellis, 82, of O'Neil Ave., Bathurst, passed away on Thursday (June 5, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Belledune, he was the son of the late Harold and Jean (Miller) Ellis. He was a member of the Herman J. Good, V.C. Br. 18, Royal Canadian Legion, Bathurst. Besides his wife, Helen (Chapman) Ellis; he is survived by one son, Mark Ellis (Chantal) of Fredericton; two daughters, Wenda MacDonald of Halifax, NS, Beth Green (Glenn) of Smith Falls, ON; three grandchildren, Kerry, Andrew and Kaitlin; three brothers, Norman of Belledune, Ronald (Peggy) of Bathurst, Gregory (Lois) of Belleville, ON; one sister, Cora Lindsay of Bathurst; several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by brothers; George, Arthur, Raymond and sisters; Margaret, Opal, Bernice, Betty and Mary. The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home (, Bathurst. Funeral Service was held Monday afternoon (June 9, 2008) at 2:00 p.m. from the First United Church, St. Patrick St., Bathurst. Burial was in the Highland View Cemetery, Bathurst. A Legion service was held from the Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. Donations in memory of Charles may be made to the Alzheimer's Society, The First United Church or a charity of your choice.

Albina Doucet

The death of Mrs Albina Doucet, 73, of St. Anne's, Gloucester Co., which occurred at the Chaleur Regional Hospital on Friday June 6, 2008 after a long battle with cancer. Born in South Tetagouche, she was the daughter of the late Israel and Celine (Lagacé) Pitre. She is survived by five sons, Gerry Doucet of Miramichi, Kenny Doucet (Yolande) of St.Anne's, Jean-Guy Doucet of Bathurst, Donald Doucet (Nancy Landry) and Norman Doucet (Lucie) both of Riverview. One daughter, Nicole Legacy (Jean-Paul) of Ste. Anne's. She leaves behind nine grandchildren, Byron, Ryan, Jeffrey, Jillian, Bianca, Kevin, Justin, Rachel and Remi. Surviving also is one brother, Lionel "Wabo" Pitre. She was predeceased by one son, Edmond Doucet; and two sisters, Macrina (Cathy) Good and May Pitre; and a brother, Gérald "Pet" Pitre. The body rested at Elhatton's Funeral Home. The funeral was celebrated Monday, June 9, 2008 at 11:00 from Holy Family Church. Burial was in parish cemetery. In memory of Albina, donation to Canadian Cancer Society will be appreciated by family.

Pauline Cormier

BATHURST - Mrs. Pauline Cormier, 78, wife of Normand L. Cormier, of Bridge St. Bathurst, passed away on Saturday (May 31, 2008) at the Chaleur Regional Hospital, Bathurst. Born in Bathurst, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jane (Babin) Boucher. Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Nancy Morton (David) and Patsy Louwe (Jim) both of Oshawa, ON; one brother, Lawrence "Larry" Boucher (Veronica) of Bathurst; four grandchildren, Jesse, Savannah, Bradley and Ryan; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings, Margaret, Yvonne, Stella, Francis, Walter, Hector and Patrick. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Wednesday (June 4, 2008) at 11:00 a.m. from the Sacred Heart Cathedral, St. Andrew St., Bathurst. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery, East Bathurst. Arrangements were in the care of Elhatton's Funeral Home (, Bathurst. Donation to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, Palliative Care Unit of the Chaleur Regional Hospital or a favorite charity would be appreciated by the family.

Cynthia (Cindy) Clair

After a courageous battle with cancer, Cindy passed away at home on June 2, 2008 surrounded by family and friends. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Gilles; daughter, Ellie and son, Joel. Cindy was the daughter of Thomas Hunter and the late Eleanor Garrett of Bathurst. She is also survived by her special auntie, Helena and uncle, Gino Cavicchiolo; her sister, cousins; Lisa Cavicchiolo and Lori Doucet (Kevin); nephews, Justin and Ryan; grandmother, Irene Hunter; brother, Robert (Tabatha). With her warmth, generous and caring personality, she quickly became a part of the Clair family and will be sadly missed by James and Rachel, Suzanne (Sean) and Richard; as well as an overwhelming network of loving and supportive friends. Visitation was held at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road. Funeral service was held on June 5, 2008 at Paroisse Sainte Anne-des-Pays-Bas with Father Donald Savoie as celebrant. For those who wish, memorials in Cindy's name may be made to NB Hospice Palliative Care Association, Canadian Cancer Society or charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank the Extra Mural nurses and staff for the devotion and support they provided to Gilles and Cindy during this difficult period. They would also like to thank the nurses and doctors who cared for Cindy in both Fredericton and Saint John.
