Liberal MLA, Richmond - Steveston
Geoff Plant was elected to the B.C. Legislature in 1996. As a member of the Liberal Caucus, he was named Critic for the Attorney-General in Opposition Leader Gordon Campbell's Shadow Cabinet. He holds an A.B. from Harvard University (1978), LL.B. from Southampton University (1980), and an LL.M. from Cambridge University (1989).
Mr. Plant was called to the Bar in B.C. in 1982 and in Yukon in 1984. He has practised with the Vancouver law firm of Russell & DuMoulin 1982 to 1996.
Geoff has been a director of the Richmond Community Music School since 1990 and was elected president of the school in 1993. He has also been instructing off and on at the University of British Columbia.
Mr. Plant is a council member and chairman of the Gilmore Park United Church.
He has written and presented papers on various legal topics, principally in the area of aboriginal rights and education law. His personal interests include music and outdoor activities with his family. Geoffrey lives with his wife Janet and children Caroline and Graham at 10391 Hollywell, Richmond.
