Lingenfelter, Hon. Dwain
New Democrat MLA, Regina Elphinstone
Dwain Lingenfelter was first elected to the Legislature as MLA for the Shaunavon Constituency in 1978, serving until 1986. He was elected MLA for Regina Elphinstone in a May 1988 by-election and re-elected again in 1991 and 1995 general election.
Mr. Lingenfelter served as Minister of Social Services in the Blakeney Cabinet from 1980 to 1982, and was the Opposition House Leader from 1982 to 1986, and from 1988 to 1991.
On November 1, 1991, Mr. Lingenfelter was appointed to Cabinet in the Romanow government as Minister of Economic Development. He served in that portfolio until June, 1997 and he was also responsible for the Saskatchewan Opportunities Corporation, Saskatchewan Tourism Authority, the Saskatchewan Government Growth Fund Management Corporation and the Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership Inc.
On June 27, 1997 Premier Roy Romanow appointed Dwain Lingenfelter as Minister Responsible for the Crown Investments Corporation.
Mr. Lingenfelter has also been Deputy Premier since November, 1995.
