Ron Heirath was elected the MLA for Taber-Warner on June 15, 1993 and re-elected the MLA for Cardston-Taber-Warner on March 11, 1997. He is currently serves as a member of the Standing Policy Committee on Financial Planning, and Chair of the Health Facilities Review Committee.

Ron is a fourth generation grain farmer with an operation east of Milk River. He first started farming in 1965 as a dryland cereal grain producer, and has since changed and diversified the operation to include mustard and hog production. Agriculture continues to be one of Ron's main interests. In addition to serving on the Alberta Agriculture Development Corporation, Ron also has been a Director of the Western Canadian Wheat Growers Association and has served with the Advisory Board of the Western Barley Association, the Alberta Grain Commission and the Alberta Agricultural Products Marketing Council. He also was on the Advisory Board of Alberta Taxpayers.

Ron was born on August 17, 1944, and is married to Sharon. They have three children, Scott, Teresa and Laureen. He received his education from various institutions, including Masinasin in Milk River, SAIT in Calgary and the University of Lethbridge. He has been very active in the community as a Past-President of the Milk River Kinsmen Club.
